Rajendra Prasad

Rajendra Prasad ( listen ; 3 December 1884 – 28 February 1963) was the first President of the Republic of India. An Indian political leader, lawyer by training, Prasad joined the Indian National Congress during the Indian independence movement and became a major leader from the region of Bihar. A supporter of Mahatma Gandhi, Prasad was imprisoned by British authorities during the Salt Satyagraha of 1931 and the Quit India movement of 1942. Prasad served one term as President of the Indian National Congress from 1934 to 1935. After the 1946 elections, Prasad served as minister of food and agriculture in the central government. Upon independence in 1947, Prasad was elected president of the Constituent Assembly of India, which prepared the Constitution of India and served as its provisional parliament.

When India became a Republic in 1950, Prasad was elected its first President by the Constituent Assembly. Following the general election of 1951, he was elected President by the electoral college of the first Parliament of India and its state legislatures. As President, Prasad established a tradition of non-partisanship and independence for the office-bearer, and retired from Congress party politics. Although a ceremonial head of state, Prasad encouraged the development of education in India and advised the Nehru government on several occasions. In 1957, Prasad was re-elected to the presidency, becoming the only president to have been in the office twice.

Aa Naluguru

Aa Naluguru (English translation: Those Four i.e. the four people who carry a body in a funeral procession) is a 2004 Telugu drama film starring Rajendra Prasad and Amani. The film was directed by Chandra Siddhartha and produced by Sarita Patra. The film was later remade in Kannada in 2006 as Sirivantha starring Vishnuvardhan.

Plot

Raghu Ramayya (Rajendra Prasad) is a kind hearted idealistic person who spends half of his income on charity work. His wife Bharati (Aamani), two sons Chinna and Raja and daughter Revathi are quite against this attitude. His children compel him to get money for their career (bribe for job), education (donation fee for engineering seat) and settling in United States which he feels is completely wrong. He is forced to set aside his morality and take a loan from his neighbor, Kotayya (Kota Srinivasa Rao). Unable to bear the defeat of his ideology and moral issues, he dies naturally due to a heart attack the very day he gives money to his children. The rest of the film is about how his children and wife realise just how important he was as they prepare his funeral. At last, every one had realised that after death only love and affection will come with us so love the people and society.

Subhalekha Sudhakar

Subhalekha Sudhakar (born Suravajula Sudhakar, Telugu: శుభలేఖ సుధాకర్, on 19 November 1960) is a leading actor in Telugu cinema and Tamil television. He is known for his roles in successful television soaps like Chithi, Kolangal and Thendral. He has many awards including a Nandi Award for the serial Mamathala Kovela; his role as Thulasi's father Muthumankicam in Thendral, where he acted as a handicapped person, was acclaimed and won him the Best Actor award.

Career

Subhalekha Sudhakar has acted in more than 100 films, including a few Tamil films as well. He made his acting debut in K. Viswanath's film Subhalekha. This gave him the screen name "Subhalekha" Sudhakar. He is noted for his comic and supporting actor roles.

Personal life

He is married to playback singer S. P. Sailaja, in 1987 and the couple have a son, Sreekar born in 1989.

Kota Srinivasa Rao

Kota Srinivasa Rao is an Indian film actor, known for his works primarily in Telugu Cinema, and theatre. He has also starred in few films in Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam. A former politician, Rao, has served as MLA from Vijayawada East assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh, India from 1999–2004. He made his debut with the Telugu film Pranam Khareedu in 1978. He has received seven state Nandi Awards as best character, villain and supporting actor. Chandra Siddhartha

Chandra Siddhartha (born C. Chandra Sekhar Siddhartha) is an Indian film director, screenwriter and producer, known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He has directed films such as Inscrutable Americans, Aa Naluguru, and Madhumasam.

He has garnered three state Nandi Awards for directing Aa Naluguru and Andhari Bandhuvayya. In 1995, He has produced, Nirantharam, under Film and Television Institute of India, which received special mention at Cairo and Locarno International Film Festival. The film directed by Rajendra Prasad, was also premiered at Malaysian Indian International film festival. In 2000, he directed The Inscrutable Americans based on Anurag Mathur's best selling novel of the same name. The film was premiered at Milan, Newyork, Atlanta, London and Kerala International Film Festivals. He has served as the Jury member for South Region II at the 57th and 61st National Film Awards.

Early life and Career

Chandra Siddhartha was born to C. Poorna Chandra Rao and C. Shankunthala Devi. Siddhartha, has attended Nizam College in Hyderabad and holds a degree in Telugu Literature, from osmania University. He has worked as an Assistant director, for the 1987 film Jaithra Yathra, under Uppalapati Narayana Rao.
