Today http://www.goandseetv.com is going to show you the United Nations Headquarters in New York City! Another world-famous New York City icon that brings the world to New York City.
Along with Fifth Avenue and Grand Central Terminal/Station, the UN Headquarters is a definite must-see in Midtown on your New York City trip. It is a short 10 minute walk from Grand Central Station to the UN Headquarters.
The UN Headquarters is located on the East River, along First Avenue, between 42nd Street up to 48th Street. Construction of the UN Headquarters complex was begun in 1948 and was completed in 1952.
The UN Headquarters complex consists of four main buildings, the General Assembly Building, the Secretariat, the Conference Center, and the Dag Hammerskjold Library. There are also ancillary buildings outside the UN Headquarters complex that house UN institutions, such as United Nations Plaza.
Inside the UN Headquarters complex, you will see various artwork and installations, such as the "Knotted Gun." On the tour you'll see one of the most important bodies at the UN, the Security Council. You'll also see the General Assembly. Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is an American business magnate, investor, author, television personality and candidate for President of the United States in the 2016 presidential election. He worked for his father's firm, Elizabeth Trump & Son, while attending the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and officially joined the company in 1968. In 1971, he was given control of the company, renaming it The Trump Organization. Trump remains a major figure in American real estate.
On June 16, 2015, Trump formally announced his candidacy for president in the 2016 election, seeking the nomination of the Republican Party. Trump's early campaigning drew intense media coverage and saw him rise to high levels of popular support. Since early July 2015, he has consistently been the front-runner in public opinion polls for the Republican Party nomination.
Trump began his career at his father's real estate company,[27] Elizabeth Trump and Son,[28] which focused on middle-class rental housing in the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. One of Trump's first projects, while he was still in college, was the revitalization of the foreclosed Swifton Village apartment complex in Cincinnati, Ohio, which his father had purchased for $5.7 million in 1962. The Trumps became involved in the project and with a $500,000 investment, turned the 1,200-unit complex's occupancy rate from 34% to 100%. In 1972, the Trump Organization sold Swifton Village for $6.75 million.[29][30]
In 1971, Trump moved to Manhattan and became involved in larger building projects and used attractive architectural design to win public recognition.[31] Trump initially came to public attention in 1973, when he was accused by the Justice Department of violations of the Fair Housing Act in the operation of 39 buildings. Trump in turn accused the Justice Department of targeting his company because it was a large one, and to force it to rent to welfare recipients. Trump settled the charges in 1975, saying he was satisfied that the agreement did not "compel the Trump organization to accept persons on welfare as tenants unless as qualified as any other tenant."[32]
Trump made plans to acquire and develop the old Penn Central for $60 million with no money down.[33] Later, with the help of a 40-year tax abatement from the New York City government, he turned the bankrupt Commodore Hotel into the Grand Hyatt[34] and created The Trump Organization.[35]
New York City had a plan to build the Javits Convention Center on property for which Trump held a right-to-buy option. Trump estimated his company could have completed the project for $110 million[36] but the city rejected his offer and Trump received a broker's fee on the sale of the property instead. Repairs on The Wollman Rink in Central Park (built in 1955) were started in 1980 with an expected 2½-year construction schedule but were nowhere near completion by 1986. Trump took over the management of the project, at no cost to the city, and completed it in three months for $1.95 million, which was $750,000 less than the initial budget.[37]
In 1988, Trump acquired the Taj Mahal Casino in a transaction with Merv Griffin and Resorts International,[38] which led to mounting debt,[39] and by 1989, Trump was unable to meet loan payments. Although he shored up his businesses with additional loans and postponed interest payments, by 1991, increasing debt brought Trump to business bankruptcy.[39] Banks and bond holders had lost hundreds of millions of dollars, but opted to restructure the debt. The Taj Mahal emerged from bankruptcy on October 5, 1991, with Trump ceding 50 percent ownership in the casino to the original bondholders in exchange for lowered interest rates on the debt and more time to pay it off.[40] He also sold his financially challenged Trump Shuttle airline and his 282-foot megayacht, the Trump Princess.[41] The late 1990s saw a resurgence in Trump's financial situation. The will of Trump's father, who died in 1999, divided an estate estimated at $250–$300 million equally among his four surviving children.

The United Nations (UN) is an intergovernmental organization to promote international co-operation. A replacement for the ineffective League of Nations, the organization was established on 24 October 1945 after World War II in order to prevent another such conflict. The Headquarters of the United Nations is a complex in New York City. The complex has served as the official headquarters of the United Nations since its completion in 1952. It is located in the Turtle Bay neighborhood of Manhattan, on spacious grounds overlooking the East River. Its borders are First Avenue on the west, East 42nd Street to the south, East 48th Street on the north and the East River to the east. The term "Turtle Bay" is occasionally used as a metonym for the UN headquarters or for the United Nations as a whole.
The United Nations has three additional, subsidiary, regional headquarters, or headquarters districts. These were opened in Geneva (Switzerland) in 1946, Vienna (Austria) in 1980, and Nairobi (Kenya) in 2011. These adjunct offices help represent UN interests, facilitate diplomatic activities, and enjoy certain extraterritorial privileges, but only the main headquarters in New York City contains the seats of the principal organs of the UN, including the General Assembly and Security Council. All fifteen of the United Nations' specialized agencies are located outside New York City at these other headquarters or in other cities.

Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is an American business magnate, investor, author, television personality and candidate for President of the United States in the 2016 presidential election. Trump's career, branding efforts, lifestyle and outspoken manner helped make him a celebrity, a status amplified by the success of his NBC reality show, The Apprentice. Trump is a son of Fred Trump, a New York City real estate developer. He worked for his father's firm, Elizabeth Trump & Son, while attending the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and officially joined the company in 1968. In 1971, he was given control of the company, renaming it The Trump Organization. Trump remains a major figure in American real estate. On June 16, 2015, Trump formally announced his candidacy for president in the 2016 election, seeking the nomination of the Republican Party. Trump's early campaigning drew intense media coverage and saw him rise to high levels of popular support. Since early July 2015, he has consistently been the front-runner in public opinion polls for the Republican Party nomination. Trump settled the charges in 1975, saying he was satisfied that the agreement did not "compel the Trump organization to accept persons on welfare as tenants unless as qualified as any other tenant."[32] Trump made plans to acquire and develop the old Penn Central for $60 million with no money down.[33] Later, with the help of a 40-year tax abatement from the New York City government, he turned the bankrupt Commodore Hotel into the Grand Hyatt[34] and created The Trump Organization.[35] New York City had a plan to build the Javits Convention Center on property for which Trump held a right-to-buy option. Trump estimated his company could have completed the project for $110 million[36] but the city rejected his offer and Trump received a broker's fee on the sale of the property instead. Repairs on The Wollman Rink in Central Park (built in 1955) were started in 1980 with an expected 2½-year construction schedule but were nowhere near completion by 1986. Trump took over the management of the project, at no cost to the city, and completed it in three months for $1.95 million, which was $750,000 less than the initial budget.[37] In 1988, Trump acquired the Taj Mahal Casino in a transaction with Merv Griffin and Resorts International,[38] which led to mounting debt,[39] and by 1989, Trump was unable to meet loan payments. Trump is a son of Fred Trump, a New York City real estate developer. He worked for his father's firm, Elizabeth Trump & Son, while attending the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and officially joined the company in 1968. In 1971, he was given control of the company, renaming it The Trump Organization. Trump remains a major figure in American real estate.
On June 16, 2015, Trump formally announced his candidacy for president in the 2016 election, seeking the nomination of the Republican Party. Trump's early campaigning drew intense media coverage and saw him rise to high levels of popular support. Since early July 2015, he has consistently been the front-runner in public opinion polls for the Republican Party nomination.
Trump began his career at his father's real estate company,[27] Elizabeth Trump and Son,[28] which focused on middle-class rental housing in the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. One of Trump's first projects, while he was still in college, was the revitalization of the foreclosed Swifton Village apartment complex in Cincinnati, Ohio, which his father had purchased for $5.7 million in 1962. The Trumps became involved in the project and with a $500,000 investment, turned the 1,200-unit complex's occupancy rate from 34% to 100%. In 1972, the Trump Organization sold Swifton Village for $6.75 million.[29][30]
In 1971, Trump moved to Manhattan and became involved in larger building projects and used attractive architectural design to win public recognition.[31] Trump initially came to public attention in 1973, when he was accused by the Justice Department of violations of the Fair Housing Act in the operation of 39 buildings. Trump in turn accused the Justice Department of targeting his company because it was a large one, and to force it to rent to welfare recipients. Trump settled the charges in 1975, saying he was satisfied that the agreement did not "compel the Trump organization to accept persons on welfare as tenants unless as qualified as any other tenant."[32]
Trump made plans to acquire and develop the old Penn Central for $60 million with no money down.[33] Later, with the help of a 40-year tax abatement from the New York City government, he turned the bankrupt Commodore Hotel into the Grand Hyatt[34] and created The Trump Organization.[35]
New York City had a plan to build the Javits Convention Center on property for which Trump held a right-to-buy option. Trump estimated his company could have completed the project for $110 million[36] but the city rejected his offer and Trump received a broker's fee on the sale of the property instead. Repairs on The Wollman Rink in Central Park (built in 1955) were started in 1980 with an expected 2½-year construction schedule but were nowhere near completion by 1986. Trump took over the management of the project, at no cost to the city, and completed it in three months for $1.95 million, which was $750,000 less than the initial budget.[37]
In 1988, Trump acquired the Taj Mahal Casino in a transaction with Merv Griffin and Resorts International,[38] which led to mounting debt,[39] and by 1989, Trump was unable to meet loan payments. Although he shored up his businesses with additional loans and postponed interest payments, by 1991, increasing debt brought Trump to business bankruptcy.[39] Banks and bond holders had lost hundreds of millions of dollars, but opted to restructure the debt. The Taj Mahal emerged from bankruptcy on October 5, 1991, with Trump ceding 50 percent ownership in the casino to the original bondholders in exchange for lowered interest rates on the debt and more time to pay it off.[40] He also sold his financially challenged Trump Shuttle airline and his 282-foot megayacht, the Trump Princess.[41] The late 1990s saw a resurgence in Trump's financial situation. The will of Trump's father, who died in 1999, divided an estate estimated at $250–$300 million equally among his four surviving children.

United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, made a visit to the event. He was received by Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Moallimi, the Kingdom’s permanent representative to the UN, and a number of senior officials.
Speaking at a session, Khalid Abu Al-Lief, a senior Saudi negotiator, discussed in detail the executive plan to implement the environmental rehabilitation for Wadi Hanifa. He said the plan has helped transform the valley into the biggest natural park that surrounds the neighborhoods and suburbs of the city.
Ibrahim Al-Shaye, a senior official at the environmental planning directorate, highlighted the developments in the environmental sector of the city. He listed the major challenges faced by the government in this regard, including structural waste, pollution and urban development of the city.
Al-Shaye reviewed features of the comprehensive strategic scheme for Riyadh, which included the transformation of the city into a modern oasis that suits the desert environment to achieve urban development in the heart of the desert.
David Qriqis, director of the sustainable institute at Monash University in Australia, presented a paper about the executive plan. The paper took into consideration the new developments in aspects related to the environmental situation in the city in light of the population growth.
The paper stressed the importance of applying modern applications and techniques to improve natural resources in the city, using them in a way that meets the needs of the current and coming generations.
He pointed out that the plan is divided into six main axes, including air quality, waste management, soil and water resources, management of natural resources, biodiversity, environmental protection, sustainable development and climate change. These axes, according to him, were divided into 51 programs and projects that are implemented by 17 bodies in the city.
George Stokton, a senior adviser, presented a paper about the rehabilitation project which contributed to environmental stability of Wadi Hanifa, and the launch of compensation mechanism, in addition to employing its resources to meet the city’s water needs, open areas, the development of its agricultural economy, and the development of its urban fabric.
He said the project bore fruit as it has turned the valley into the biggest natural park that surrounds the city, and has become an attractive area for investors.
Sara Ba’ashin, head of the negotiating team at the United Nations, discussed the importance of building environmental reservation around the world.
She highlighted the importance of unified efforts and the exchange of expertise in the field of protecting and developing the environment, especially in enhancing water resources, using clean energy, improving air quality and curbing urban effects on the environment. She said the Kingdom’s “Vision 2030” was focused on achieving these goals to reach a human-friendly environment, reported Al-Riyadh.

George Stokton, a senior adviser, presented a paper about the rehabilitation project which contributed to environmental stability of Wadi Hanifa, and the launch of compensation mechanism, in addition to employing its resources to meet the city’s water needs, open areas, the development of its agricultural economy, and the development of its urban fabric.
He said the project bore fruit as it has turned the valley into the biggest natural park that surrounds the city, and has become an attractive area for investors.
Sara Ba’ashin, head of the negotiating team at the United Nations, discussed the importance of building environmental reservation around the world.
She highlighted the importance of unified efforts and the exchange of expertise in the field of protecting and developing the environment, especially in enhancing water resources, using clean energy, improving air quality and curbing urban effects on the environment. She said the Kingdom’s “Vision 2030” was focused on achieving these goals to reach a human-friendly environment, reported Al-Riyadh.

Netanyahu told that Iran was building up its own armament stockpiles and that billions of dollars in sanctions relief would only fuel the effort. He reminded the nations of the world that Iran already has the capability to target Israel with ballistic weapons and that it’s current ballistic efforts can only be meant to threaten Europe and the United States.
The Prime Minister chastised the member states of the U.N. for their failure to speak out against Iranian threats to destroy Israel, and that the silence was deafening. Netanyahu emphasized the point by staring at the delegates in silence for 45 seconds.
Netanyahu responded to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s declaration the previous day that it would no longer honor the Oslo Peace Accords by offering to reopen peace talks with the PA without any conditions. He also rejected the assertion by Abbas that Israel intended to change the status of the al-Asqa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, a Palestinian allegation that has recently fomented violent incidents. He noted that Israel goes to great lengths to ensure the safety of the shrines of all religions in the Holy Land.
Prime Minister Netanyahu pleaded with U.N. member states to cease decades of anti Israeli rhetoric, and to undertake an honest effort to work toward an Israeli – Palestinian peace agreement.

Charlotte Hawthorn from Wirral, England, gave birth to Rory, who at 12-pounds, 7-ounces, weighed approximately twice as much as most newborns.
