PGI head releases book on endocrinology

CHANDIGARGH: A book, "Clinical Rounds in Endocrinology" has been released by PGI director Yogesh Chawla on the institute's annual Research Day. The book was simultaneously launched across 160 countries in the world.
The book is written in a lucid question-answer format and comprises 20 chapters with approximately 1,200 questions. All questions have been spontaneously and innovatively generated during hospital clinical rounds. The book is not only helpful for endocrinologists but also physicians, gynaecologists, paediatricians and orthopaedicians as chapters-related to endocrinology for these specialties have also been incorporated.
All these chapters have been written by Dr Anil Bhansali, professor and head, department of endocrinology, PGI, Chandigarh. The book comprises 300 clinical illustrations and 100 flow-diagrams. In addition, the book is up-to-date, as it has covered related-literature till December 2015 and to make it comprehensive, approximately 5,000 research papers have been reviewed. It is a scientific update in endocrinology and useful even for trained endocrinologists, the author said.
