Excellent space. The Merri Table isn't as kid friendly as the old cafe (in terms of space to run around yelling and screaming without disturbing people, not the people who work there, they're great). The cafe in the market area is the next best thing though. Often there is a band on weekends during market time.
The Bike Shed is fantastic (but busy) there's talk of an expansion of the covered area and bench space.
The nursery has some good healthy seedlings and plants.
I don't know much about the community garden apart from the eggs tasting really good.
This place does a whole lot more as well. • • •

You have to love CERES and the amazing people who work there. The dedication to sustainable living is amazing.
Ps. There are Pikachu here for Pokémon Go trainers.
Great variety of indigenous plants as well as herbs etc. Good food good market, open space and friendly people if a little hippy (which is a good thing).
The food was great but the customer service was a joke! Staff who clearly did not want to help! Saw that there was a fettuccine special and asked what it was.. Got a sarcastic response of "it's pasta." When I explained that I couldn't read the details as people were standing in front of that section of the board she looked at me with no response. I had to walk to the other side of the cafe to read it!!! The coffee took 30 minutes to arrive, when we asked the waiter how much longer he expected it to be he snapped back with "a while". So disgusting that another patron commented on how terribly we were treated! Have vowed never to return. All would be fine as long as you don't ask them a question • • •

One of my favourite places to get away from the city hubub that's right in the city. I can do food shopping, buy plants at the nursery, and listen to the bullfrogs in the pond. Lovely.
There's do much here!! Cafe, community gardens, great produce, plenty of community groups (bike shed, music, apiary courses and more). Great sustainability and ecofriendly house. Plenty of information and people to talk to.
Understanding the basics of sustainability and dwelve deeper into topics such as permaculture. These are important not only for adults but for children as well because sustainable development and climate change are multi generational issues. CERES is a great place to view possibilities in order improve our community and planet.
