Hello, my name is Phil Edwards and, like so many people, I suffer from outdated headshot syndrome.

Most recently, I'm a video producer at Vox, where I make videos about...things. I also do the occasional Snapchat. Before that, I was a staff writer. You can find all of my articles here, or you can watch all the videos I've worked on below.

It builds off what I did at Trivia Happy, where I had the opportunity to look into a wide range of subjects with an eye for the details that make stories weird, fun, and fascinating. My favorite stories include the truth about Taft's bathtub, the history of peeing Calvin decals, and the birth of a guy named Waldo. Though that project is now in hibernation mode, it's going to be reborn as something better, more interesting, and more exciting than what was already an awesome run.

That work is my focus now, but I've also done time as a lawyer ranker, Wal-Mart cashier, grocery cart pusher, and weeder.

You may have reached my site from my books, which are variously corny, funny, sweet, and, in the best case scenario, fun. It's a real hodge podge when it comes to my humor and fiction, but I like to think they're united by a curious and light sensibility that's made it to my nonfiction writing as well. You can see the full catalog here.

Thanks for visiting the site and let me know if you have any questions. If you want to know a few random facts about me, I like running, tennis, and exploring different topics and places. My favorite ice cream flavor is Cookies and Cream, I believe in a technologically determinist theory of history, and I enjoy learning new tools (my expanding toolkit includes Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere and, if you need it, a hole saw).

I don't have a personal blog, but you can also get updates on me and my projects through Facebook and Twitter. I'm still figuring out the best way to use those sites, but I'll try to put some free stuff and/or wisdom to make it worth your time.

Also, I only use the PhilEdwardsInc name because my name is far too common. So don't worry, my opinions about personal branding aren't as banal as appending an "Inc" to my name (though I admit that something about that appeals to the cynic in me).

That's all for now. But, of course, there's always more to come...
