Amy Schumer helped shine one of the brightest lights on the #AskHerMore campaign at the 68th annual Emmy Awards when she shot down one of the most sexist red carpet questions known to womankind: "what are you wearing?"
"Vivienne Westwood, Tom Ford shoes and an OB Tampon," the comedian and actor, who was nominated for six Emmys on Sunday night, told a visibly shocked Giuliana Rancic.
While the E! host seemed to struggle to regain her equilibrium following the menstrual humour, elsewhere on the red carpet Amy Poehler's Smart Girls movement was asking more than just questions focused on appearance, fashion choices and diets.
Partnering up with Twitter and the Television Academy, they returned to the ceremony for a second year in a row to acknowledge women's accomplishments and talents. Women are still hugely discriminated against in film and television, making up just 28.8 per cent of speaking characters in the top-grossing films in 2012, according to a report by the Women's Media Center.
Fans and celebrities also got in on the act by asking their own questions, using the hashtag:"#SmartGirlsAsk".
Aziz Ansari, who won the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for Master of None, had one of the best responses when he gave a shout-out to his Parks and Recreation co-star, Poehler, for being his role model.
"As I was growing up on Parks and Rec, Ms Amy Poehler was a role model - and a fantastic one at that," he said.

Long-time #AskHerMore champion and Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon wanted to find who were the most cherished TV actresses.
But Modern Family's Ariel Winter struggled to have just one, so instead opted for the whole cast of Netflix's Orange is the New Black. Who could blame her?
