Fulltime at St James' Park, Newcastle: SALFORD 18 WIDNES 12
A second Daniel Vidot try has denied Widnes their first win in three months.
The Vikings looked set to claim victory when they led at halftime during the first game of Magic Weekend at St James' Park and Denis Betts's side retained the advantage well into the final quarter.
But Samoa winger Vidot came up with the ball after a contested bomb and dived over, having earlier passed a concussion test.
COMMENT: Entertaining start to the weekend with Widnes desperately unlucky not to claim a drought-breaking win.
78 min: O'Brien goal
Another ruck penalty against Widnes, who are chasing their first win since March. Gareth O'Brien will shoot from 20 metres out in front. It's there. Salford 18-12
67 min: Vidot try, Dobson goal
The video referee has been consuted after another aerial contest led to a try. Did Junoor Sau touch the bomb? The man in the truck says no. Vidot has been off the field for a concussion test but he's been awarded his second try of the afternoon' Salford 16-12

Halftime at St James Park, Newcastle: WIDNES 12 SALFORD 4
WIDNES have scored 12 unanswered points to lead Salford at halftime in the opening game of Magic Weekend at Newcastle's St James Park.
Daniel Vidot scored after only three minutes for the Red Devils and since then it has been all Widnes with tries to Chris Bridge and Rhys Hanbury. Hanbury also had a try chalked off by the video referee.
COMMENT: After a luckless period Widnes look set to return to the winners list - and the return of Kevin Brown from injury is the key.

34 min: Hanbury goal
Salford are on a team warning for repeated infringements with that ruck penalty giving them another two points via a Rhys Hanbury penalty goal. Widnes 12-4
31 min: Bridge try
I thought the final pass to Widnes centre Chris Bridge was somewhat forward but the previous pass from Kevin Brown was a gem. Rhys Hanbury unable to convert from almost in front. Just saw a replay. Still looked forward. Widnes 10-4

Our next game is the first of Magic Weekend! Salford and Widnes at St James Park, Newcastle. Let's check the weather.
Sharks presser
"Manly did what we do well - they were aggressive," said coach Shane Flanagan. "They did a real good job of frustrating us.
"You've got to learn to win in a lot of different ways. They challenged us in some different areas. They were physical."
Captain Paul Gallen said: "We had a goal at the start of the year that we wanted to be a top four side and we're sitting on top of the ladder."
Gallen said centre Jack Bird "reminds me of Greg Bird. Every time they walk on the field, they believe they're the best player on the field."
Back to topLyon To Stay At Five-eighth, Says Barrett
MANLY coach Trent Barrett says the switch between five-eighth Dylan Walker and centre Jamie Lyon will continue.
"I thought Dylan needed some time out in the centres," said Barrett when asked to explain the switch during the the loss to Cronulla.
"We've had nine different spines in 11 weeks. It's been tough on Dylan."
Asked if Lyon at five-eighth would be the configuration from now on, Barrett said: "i think so."
Discussing the game itself, Barrett said: "We were coming to get them. A few decisions went against us.
"We're still not where we need to be against these good sides. We didn't get what we came here to get.
"We need to learn to manage the game when the game's in the balance. Their halves put them in a pretty good position at the end there."
Fulltime at Southern Cross Stadium: CRONULLA 20 MANLY 12
CRONULLA have registered their eighth consecutive win to grab the NRL competition lead.
Two minutes before halftime the Sharks were doing it easy against Manly at Southern Cross Stadium. But the Sea Eagles scored tries either side of halftime to give Shane Flanagan's side a fright.
A disallowed try to Manly winger Brayden Wiliame on the sayso of the Bunker will prompt some controversy.
COMMENT: It's difficult to say Cronulla have the best shot at a premiership in their history - they've played in grand finals before. But their effort in leading the premiership after 11 rounds should be enough to get long-sufferering fans excited.
71 min: Barba try, Maloney goal.
And it's safe to say Cronulla now have their eighth consecutive win and are on top of the table. Some crisp passing in the south-eastern corner and nimble footwork from Ben Barba and he's over for his eighth try of the year. James Maloney converts. Cronulla 20-12
Manly looked to have hit the front with Brayden Wiliame crossing but the Bunker says otherwise. It's a penalty to Cronulla. It appears the ruling is that Brett Stewart over-ran a kick and obstructed defenders from taking that kick. Cronulla 14-12
64 min: Maloney goal
Cronulla receives a penalty in kicking distance with 16 minutes to go. Manly have actually scored three tries to two tonight with Jamie Lyon unable to kick a conversion. James Maloney puts Cronulla back in front. Cronulla 14-12
