Recapping the Mets' 2015 season, including their dramatic six-week turnaround and run to the World Series.
Looking back on 2015, I personally believe that the New York Mets proved to us that a story doesn't necessarily require a happy ending in order to be truly memorable.
The season ended up being all about the journey, an exhilirating one that we'll never forget!
On behalf of all of us who bleed blue and orange, we thank you, Metsies, for what was truly an Amazin' ride!

New York Mets
The New York Mets are an American professional baseball team based in New York City. The Mets are a member of the National League East Division of Major League Baseball (MLB). The Mets are one of two Major League clubs based in New York, the other being the New York Yankees.
One of baseball's first expansion teams, the Mets were founded in 1962 to replace New York's departed National League teams; the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Giants. The Mets' colors are composed of the Dodgers' blue and the Giants' orange, which also comprises the outer two bands of the New York City flag. During the 1962 and 1963 seasons, the Mets played their home games at the Polo Grounds. From 1964 to 2008, the Mets' home ballpark was Shea Stadium. In 2009, they moved into their current ballpark, Citi Field.
In their 1962 inaugural season, the Mets posted a record of 40–120, the worst regular season record since Major League Baseball went to a 162-game schedule (two games were canceled). The team never finished better than second to last until the 1969 "Miracle Mets" beat the Baltimore Orioles in the 1969 World Series in what is considered one of the biggest upsets in World Series history. Since then, they have played in four additional World Series, including a dramatic run in 1973 that ended in a seven-game loss to the Oakland Athletics, a second championship in 1986 over the Boston Red Sox, a Subway Series loss against their cross-town rivals the New York Yankees in 2000, and a five-game loss to the Kansas City Royals in 2015.

Kevin Durant
Kevin Wayne Durant (born September 29, 1988) is an American professional basketball player for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He has played the small forward position for the Thunder, formerly the Seattle SuperSonics. Durant has won an NBA Most Valuable Player Award, four NBA scoring titles, the NBA Rookie of the Year Award, and an Olympic gold medal. He has also been selected to five All-NBA teams and seven All-Star teams.
Durant was a heavily recruited high school prospect. He attended the University of Texas for one season of college basketball, where he won numerous year-end awards and became the first ever freshman to be named Naismith College Player of the Year. In the 2007 NBA draft, he was selected second overall by the Seattle SuperSonics. After his rookie season, the team relocated to Oklahoma City and became the Thunder. Durant helped lead Oklahoma City to the 2012 NBA Finals, losing to the Miami Heat in five games. In 2012, he starred in his first feature film, Thunderstruck.

Mets defense screwed up against the Atlanta Braves 9/20/16
In the top of the 6th inning of last night's game with the Mets leading the Atlanta Braves 1-0 with one out, Matt Kemp hit a fly ball to right center field that if caught, could have prevented the runner at 3rd base from scoring. Instead, miscommunication by CF Curtis Granderson & RF Jay Bruce results in the ball dropping in for a hit that tied the game up. Atlanta would score 1 more that inning, then 3 in the 7th to ultimately win in 5-4.

In perhaps the biggest moment of Tuesday’s 5-4 loss to the Atlanta Braves, Jay Bruce was not on the field or at the plate for the Mets. Yet most of the questions posed to Manager Terry Collins after the game centered on Bruce, the slumping right fielder who was brought to New York on the Aug. 1 trading deadline to spark a playoff push.
Bruce understood why Collins, in the midst of a Mets rally that fell just short, had turned instead to Eric Campbell, a little-used bench player. Bruce has hit .176 in 40 games since he became a Met. Collins did not start Bruce on Sunday or Monday, hoping the mental break would jump-start his bat. Instead, Bruce went 0 for 3 on Tuesday, and when the Mets were rallying in the eighth inning, Collins made a tough choice.
