Australia received a soaking in September—in fact, it was our second-wettest September on record (for the country as a whole). As detailed in our September Climate Summary http://bom.is/4c2588:

- While parts of the country experienced widespread flooding, rainfall was below average in parts of WA.
- Average temperatures were warmer than usual in the north and across Australia's eastern seaboard, but cooler from WA to the west of the eastern States.
