"She likes to go shopping, she loves Facebook and all that," says her manager and Northern Territory Fashion Week founder, Mehali Tsangaris, who first discovered the elegant beauty at an ATM in Darwin. "I believe she can go all the way if she wants to."

Initially Magnolia postponed her modelling career to continue her Year 12 studies. Two years later and she has not only competed as the first Indigenous woman from a traditional community to become a finalist in Miss World, she has landed her first major gig as the face of Melbourne's high-end Chadstone shopping centre.
On Thursday she walked the catwalk in Melbourne as part of the deal, telling PS: "I was very nervous in the beginning but once I had started walking and heard some of the really positive feed back I felt a lot more comfortable."

If Magnolia is successful, she would do well to emulate the sort of career Fernanda Ly has carved out since leaving her Sydney school and Chinese-born parents. The 20-year-old and her trademark pink hair are highly prized on catwalks stretching from New York to Paris, where she has walked for the likes of Louis Vuitton. Among the countless magazine covers she has notched up, three of them were for Vogue.
Back in April, Huntington wrote that only two Indigenous Australians have appeared on the cover of Vogue Australia in the magazine's 56-year history – Elaine George in 1993 and Samantha Harris in 2010.
