This is a movie about restoring a legendary Soviet T-34-76 (1943 modification) tank by three specialists from Belarus. The restoration begun in autumn of 2012 and ended in May 2013.
The movie is not about the technical aspects of the restoration process, but about the enthusiastic attitude, love for history and the relationships in the team. What makes this tank unique is that all of the parts used in the restoration were manufactured during World War II. With no special equipment at their disposal, the team manages to fully restore the vehicle to its working condition.

Descendants des chars rapides "BT", le "T-34" est un char de combat moyen entré en service en 1940 au sein de l'armée rouge. Il constitue à l'époque un remarquable équilibre entre les trois facteurs majeurs qui définissent la qualité d'un blindé, à savoir : la puissance de feu, la protection et la mobilité. Cette réussite en fait l'un des atouts de l'Union soviétique face à l'invasion de la Wehrmacht, mais leur faible nombre en 1941/1942 et le manque d'entrainement des soldats soviétiques à cette époque ne put changer le cours des évènements. Bien que rapidement dépassé par les productions étrangères, le T-34 va tout de même rester en production de 1940 à 1958, avec un total d'unités produites estimé à 84 070 exemplaires, ce qui en fait le second char le plus produit de tous les temps, juste derrière ses successeurs, les T-54 et T-55. Il montra une capacité d'évolution certaine, une facilité de construction et d'entretien qui lui permirent d'être disponible en très grand nombre, ce qui lui assura une longévité exceptionnelle, 27 pays l'utilisant encore en 1996.
L'arrangement général du véhicule est classique, avec le moteur à l'arrière. Tous les côtés de la caisse sont inclinés par rapport à la verticale. Cette caisse est fabriquée avec des plaques d'acier homogènes soudées entre elles. Le dessous du char est constitué de deux plaques épaisses de 20 et 22 mm et possède une trappe pour l'évacuation d'urgence. Elles seront de 20 mm sur le T-34 modèle 1942.
Le blindage du T-34 modèle 1940 est de 45 mm pour la face avant et les flancs, châssis et tourelle. Il passe à 52 mm pour la tourelle de face, arrière et de côté sur le T-34 modèle 1941. Le T-34 modèle 42 adopte un blindage de 60 mm de face pour le châssis et la tourelle, 45 mm pour l'arrière du châssis. Sur le modèle 1943, le blindage passe à 70 mm pour la face de la tourelle. Le T-34/85 adopte une tourelle de 90 mm d'épaisseur de face, et de 75 mm en latéral. Son blindage arrière est toujours de 45 mm pour le châssis, 52 mm pour la tourelle.

The T-34-85 gave the Red Army a tank with better armour and mobility than the German Panzer IV. This model became the standard Soviet medium tank, with an uninterrupted production run until the end of the war. This is a restored version of the Polish Rudy 102, which was made famous in a TV series.

This is a movie about restoring a legendary Soviet T-34-76 (1943 modification) tank by three specialists from Belarus. The restoration begun in autumn of 2012 and ended in May 2013.
The movie is not about the technical aspects of the restoration process, but about the enthusiastic attitude, love for history and the relationships in the team. What makes this tank unique is that all of the parts used in the restoration were manufactured during World War II. With no special equipment at their disposal, the team manages to fully restore the vehicle to its working condition.

Descendants des chars rapides "BT", le "T-34" est un char de combat moyen entré en service en 1940 au sein de l'armée rouge. Il constitue à l'époque un remarquable équilibre entre les trois facteurs majeurs qui définissent la qualité d'un blindé, à savoir : la puissance de feu, la protection et la mobilité. Cette réussite en fait l'un des atouts de l'Union soviétique face à l'invasion de la Wehrmacht, mais leur faible nombre en 1941/1942 et le manque d'entrainement des soldats soviétiques à cette époque ne put changer le cours des évènements. Bien que rapidement dépassé par les productions étrangères, le T-34 va tout de même rester en production de 1940 à 1958, avec un total d'unités produites estimé à 84 070 exemplaires, ce qui en fait le second char le plus produit de tous les temps, juste derrière ses successeurs, les T-54 et T-55. Il montra une capacité d'évolution certaine, une facilité de construction et d'entretien qui lui permirent d'être disponible en très grand nombre, ce qui lui assura une longévité exceptionnelle, 27 pays l'utilisant encore en 1996.
L'arrangement général du véhicule est classique, avec le moteur à l'arrière. Tous les côtés de la caisse sont inclinés par rapport à la verticale. Cette caisse est fabriquée avec des plaques d'acier homogènes soudées entre elles. Le dessous du char est constitué de deux plaques épaisses de 20 et 22 mm et possède une trappe pour l'évacuation d'urgence. Elles seront de 20 mm sur le T-34 modèle 1942.
Le blindage du T-34 modèle 1940 est de 45 mm pour la face avant et les flancs, châssis et tourelle. Il passe à 52 mm pour la tourelle de face, arrière et de côté sur le T-34 modèle 1941. Le T-34 modèle 42 adopte un blindage de 60 mm de face pour le châssis et la tourelle, 45 mm pour l'arrière du châssis. Sur le modèle 1943, le blindage passe à 70 mm pour la face de la tourelle. Le T-34/85 adopte une tourelle de 90 mm d'épaisseur de face, et de 75 mm en latéral. Son blindage arrière est toujours de 45 mm pour le châssis, 52 mm pour la tourelle.
