Super senior

A super senior is a student in an American four-year educational institution such as a high school or university who has been attending the institution for 5 or more years or has more than the usual number of credits required to graduate without achieving a diploma or bachelor's degree.

Causes

Applied to education in the United States, super-seniors usually have the minimum number of credits to graduate but do not for various reasons. These students will advance through the grades (freshman, sophomore, junior- senior) on schedule and are classified as a "senior" for two or more years.

Redshirt student-athlete

A student-athlete may have been made a redshirt their freshman year, which delays their four year eligibility for competition in the NCAA until their sophomore year. As a result, they will still be eligible the year after their senior year and may stay in college to continue competition.

Multiple degrees

Students who intend to complete two or more degrees at the same time are often required to earn approximately 140-150 credits to receive their degrees, rather than the normal 120. It is often in the student's best interest to earn all desired/required undergraduate degrees at the same time as financial aid is more readily available to undergraduates than to graduates returning for additional undergraduate degrees. They could also use summer school sessions as well.

Super Senior

Super Senior (Chinese: 长辈甜心) is a Singaporean family drama produced and telecast on MediaCorp Channel 8. The drama began production in February 2015 and made its run from 18 June to 15 July 2015. It is partly sponsored by the Media Development Authority of Singapore.

Plot

Zhu Xiangdong (Zhu Houren) owns a bakery and leads a life of material comfort. He is married to Yu Fang (Xiang Yun) for years but they remain childless. Yu Fang knows that her husband is a womanizer but she condones his philandering ways. One day, she finds out that Xiangdong has impregnated one of his staff. Yu Fang wants the child to have a complete family and decides to file for divorce. Xiangdong’s cousin, Wang Dali (Wang Yuqing), has a crush on Yu Fang for many years. After Yu Fang’s divorce, he decides to pursue her. Unfortunately, he discovers that he is seriously ill. Yu Fang stays by his side and after many trials and tribulations, the two seniors finally get together.

Hong Caiyun (Hong Huifang) leads a happy life with her loving husband. However, good times do not last and her husband suddenly passes away in his sleep. This comes as a huge emotional blow to Caiyun as her pillar of support vanishes overnight. Liu Fugui (Richard Low) is a gambler who has no goals in life. However, all that changes when he reunites with his daughter. Chen Yalai (Chen Shucheng) works as a security guard at the condominium where Xiangdong resides. Yalai pulls a tight rein over the lives of his children. As time passes by, he drifts apart from his children and has no one to talk to. Jin Huixi (Jin Yin Ji) is a cheerful woman who teaches Korean dance at the community centre. However, beneath Huixi’s cheerful demeanor lies a hidden grief. Her son, Guan Qiming (Yao Wenlong), treads on the wrong path and is imprisoned for committing various crimes. Seeing how her beloved son ruins his own life, Huixi hopes that he will mend his ways.
