Wildlife traditionally refers to non-domesticated animal species, but has come to include all plants, fungi, and other organisms that grow or live wild in an area without being introduced by humans.
Wildlife can be found in all ecosystems. Deserts, forests, rain forests, plains, grasslands, and other areas including the most developed urban sites, all have distinct forms of wildlife. While the term in popular culture usually refers to animals that are untouched by human factors, most scientists agree that much wildlife is affected by human activities.
Humans have historically tended to separate civilization from wildlife in a number of ways including the legal, social, and moral sense. Some animals, however, have adapted to suburban environments. This includes such animals as domesticated cats, dogs, mice, and gerbils. Some religions have often declared certain animals to be sacred, and in modern times concern for the natural environment has provoked activists to protest the exploitation of wildlife for human benefit or entertainment.
In this award-winning film that Jane Goodall wants millions to see, three former federal agents and a Congressman blow the whistle on Wildlife Services--a barbaric, wasteful and misnamed agency within the USDA most Americans have never heard of--and expose the government's secret war on wildlife on the taxpayer's dime. Wildlife Services has been having their way for almost a century, killing millions of wild animals each year, as well as maiming, poisoning, and brutalizing countless pets. They have also seriously harmed more than a few humans. They apparently thought they were going to continue getting away with it. But with your help, we're not going to let them. Thousands of donated Christmas trees were dropped in Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge on Thursday, February 20, 2014 to help support the coastal restoration of Louisiana marshland and rebuild habitat for migratory waterfowl. Louisiana Army National Guard helicopters airlifted the bundles of trees into open ponds to create wave breaks in the bayou. Located within New Orleans city limits, the refuge was heavily impacted by hurricane Katrina resulting in a significant loss of marshland and continual, rapid coastal erosion. The 15th Annual Christmas Tree Drop is part of an ongoing recovery program aimed at restoring area wetlands. Produced by Hard Road Pictures www.hardroadpictures.com

Two bull moose bashs heads near the Anchorage Airport in Alaska, Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016. Megan Baker, a wildlife biologist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service's Wildlife Services program was called to help. Baker works at the airport managing wildlife hazards and attempted to scare the moose away by firing paint balls at their hooves. However, when that did not work, Baker realized the best thing to do was to protect the gathering crowd from bulls. The fight lasted for more than an hour, and after, one of the bulls had wire tangled in his antler. Baker worked with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game to tranquilize the moose and remove the wire. After he woke, the moose was able to return to the forest. During the spring and fall, moose ca...
