The strength of democratic govt lies in the successes we'll have in building strong institutions. We need institutions that are accountable.

We do not wait for history to make us. We make our history for ourselves. Afghan democracy will not be bestowed. It will be made by Afghans.

A very happy Independence Day to my fellow Afghans. Let's all work for peace/prosperity to pay homage to the sacrifices of our forefathers.

We don't expect Pakistan to bring us peace. We want Pakistan to banish those groups from its territory that fight against Afghanistan.

The war is imposed on us, and we don't want war. We want a durable peace. All our neighbouring countries should respect our sovereignty.

We're working on brining reform to different sectors, and to abolish corruption n AFG. Our fight against corruption is legal, not political.

2/2 Thus, we seek regional and global support in creating those rules, which will bind us to collective security and harmony.

The key problem among our neighboring states is an absence of agreed rules of the game. 1/2

Our regional initiatives with neighbors ar beginning to yield significant cooperative dividends. The exception is with Pakistan. Despite 1/2

Peace is our highest national priority. Reaching peace, however, requires understanding the nature of the war imposed upon us.

Overcoming the obstacle requires simultaneous action on four fronts: national, regional, Islamic and global.

Our success lies in our ability to transform the culture of the state from entrenched corruption to a citizen-centered governance system.
