STORYLINE:
The father of Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh said he was disappointed but not surprised when a federal judge on Wednesday refused to block his son's execution.
Bill McVeigh showed no reaction as he watched television reports that U-S District Court Richard Matsch declined to grant the stay of execution.
While analysts almost unanimously predicted a stay would be granted, McVeigh said he never listens to analysts.
Timothy McVeigh sought a stay after it was revealed the F-B-I failed to give defence lawyers more than 4-thousand documents related to his prosecution.
As the news reports came in, Bill McVeigh sat in an easy chair, listening intently and talking to the six reporters who sat nearby.
McVeigh requested that his conversations with the reporters not be used on television, but he said he wasn't optimistic about an appeal.
Barring a successful appeal, Timothy McVeigh will be executed Monday morning in Terre Haute, Indiana.
On Monday, Bill McVeigh will be out of Pendleton, where his son grew up. He will not go to Terre Haute.
McVeigh's father says the regret he has about leaving the house is that the one phone call Timothy McVeigh promised to make will probably go unanswered.
Bill McVeigh will be at a phone number not on his son's approved call list.
There will be one visible - or rather, invisible - sign of Bill McVeigh's feelings about his son's execution.
He normally flies the American flag from a pole surrounded by flowers in his yard.
The flag went up this year around Memorial Day, but will come down on Thursday.
Bill McVeigh said he doesn't want the flag flying during the execution.
