Arabian Nights is a collection of West and South Asian Stories compiled in Arabic. The main frame story concerns a Persian king, Shahryar and his new bride, Scheherazade. Old Man Diaz has lots of stories about the Snipe Class, from getting his 11 year old son Augie a ride at the Nationals with Jerry Thompson to how he works hard at keeping new fleet member's expectations in line with how much time they are willing to put into the boat and crew training. This is my good friend who loves to talk about everything. So I just wanted to share one of these moments. Savior one for a lifetime. This man has a great voice, which actually is quite easy to nod off into sleep. UPDATE:
Eight months after this video was recorded Grandpa was actually the one to pass first. On May 15, 2016 Howard closed his eyes for the last time. Grandma (Laura Virginia) held on just five more days until she followed her love home on May 20, 2016. She was surrounded by members of our family who were singing her favorite hymn "How Great Thou Art" when she took her last breath. They both passed peacefully at home. They were laid to rest side by side on July 22, 2016 in Sarasota, FL. Our family misses them dearly and remembers them often! It usually includes, music, singing and dancing!

Mr. Howard Louis Serena and his wife of 73 years, Mrs. Laura Virginia Serena, both passed away in Gainesville, Florida, May 15, 2016 and May 20, 2016, respectively. Howard, a WWII veteran, and Laura were long time residents of Chicago, Illinois and Sarasota, Florida. The bond they shared was so strong that they passed within five days of each other.
They are survived by their nine children, eighteen grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.

My grandparents Laura and Howard have been married 73 years. In this video Howard is 92 and Laura is 93. Laura (Grandma) is at a hospice facility making peace with her final days. I was lucky enough to capture this precious, heart-melting moment between the two of them. Howard (Grandpa) is singing to her their love song, the song that comforted her when he went away to fight in World War II.

At family gatherings, it was not uncommon for the two of them to sing this song together, each taking a verse and serenading the other. In fact, after fifty years of marriage, they renewed their vows and performed this song as a duet for the entire family at the reception. Sadly, Grandma is now too weak to sing, but that doesn't stop her from saying the words to him (see at 1:00). Howard then takes over for her and sings the rest of the song to her while stroking her face.
Moments before this video began, when Grandma heard that Grandpa was in the room, she asked if she could hold him. Grandpa cannot stand on his own, but he immediately pulled his wheelchair close to her bed ready to make it happen. My cousin, Serena, who is a physical therapist, helped him to his feet and held him up throughout the entire song.
You might notice above her bed there is a sign that says, “Patient Blind.” That is because she has macular degeneration, so she cannot see much of anything but shadows and light. That doesn’t stop her from looking deep into her love’s eyes. Grandpa, on the other hand, has lost most of his hearing, so you’ll notice us repeating things for him since Grandma is to weak to raise her voice.
The song used in the video is “You’ll Never Know” performed by Rosemary Clooney with Harry James. Our family prefers this version because everyone always said Grandma had a voice just like Rosemary Clooney.
After posting this video to Facebook, it began to go viral and all the outpouring of love lifted everyone's spirits... including Grandma's! They originally gave her just a week to live, but hospice eventually deemed her well enough to go back home to live out her remaining days. She is still considered “Terminal,” however, as of this posting my beautiful Grandma Laura Virginia is still with us resting peacefully at home. Our family along with the wonderful people from hospice are taking care of her and making sure she remains as pain-free and comfortable as possible while she prepares for her nearing departure. We all thank you so much for the love and kind words.

Everyone is familiar with Aesop's Fables. Aesop has been credited with inventing the fable. Indeed, the name Aesop has become synonymous with fables. However, animal fables existed long before Aesop. Herodotus seemed to think everyone knew Aesop and his fables so well that he did not need to give any details of Aesop or his work.
Telling your child a story at bedtime is a tradition many parents have followed for centuries. Telling your child bedtime stories that teach comes with many benefits to both parent and child. Many medical research studies have shown that regularly reading your child bedtime stories can actually enhance their speech and language development. It is said that reading bedtime stories that teach can even help the child's brain to absorb the parents voice, as well as the language the parent is speaking.
Fable is a literary genre: a succinct fictional story, in prose or verse, that features animals, mythical creatures, plants, inanimate objects, or forces of nature that are anthropomorphized. A fable differs from a parable in that the latter excludes animals, plants, inanimate objects, and forces of nature as actors that assume speech or other powers of humankind.
Some of the best stories for kids are the classics. These stories have been around for generations, and are still best sellers and favorites in many families. Many great stories for kids are available today in the bookstores as well as online.
Short Moral Stories seem hard to come by these day or maybe just that there are so many shows and stories available with no moral content.
A bedtime story is a traditional form of storytelling, where a story is told to a child at bedtime to prepare the child for sleep. It's really better if you have soft, comfortable jammies for them. Next, you might want to read your child a bedtime story.
These could be kids story or your own corrected and recorded journals.

The Just So Stories for Little Children are a collection written by the British author Rudyard Kipling. Highly fantasised origin stories, especially for differences among animals, they are among Kipling's best known works.
The stories, first published in 1902, are pourquoi (French for "why") or origin stories, fantastic accounts of how various phenomena came about. A forerunner of these stories is Kipling's "How Fear Came," included in his The Second Jungle Book (1895). In it, Mowgli hears the story of how the tiger got his stripes.
The Just So Stories typically have the theme of a particular animal being modified from an original form to its current form by the acts of man, or some magical being. For example, the Whale has a tiny throat because he swallowed a mariner, who tied a raft inside to block the whale from swallowing other men. The Camel has a hump given to him by a djinn as punishment for the camel's refusing to work (the hump allows the camel to work longer between times of eating). The Leopard's spots were painted by an Ethiopian (after the Ethiopian painted himself black). The Kangaroo gets its powerful hind legs, long tail, and hopping gait after being chased all day by a dingo, sent by a minor god responding to the Kangaroo's request to be made different from all other animals.
Kipling illustrated the original editions of the Just So Stories. Other illustrators of the book include Joseph M. Gleeson.

The Man
"The Man" is a slang phrase that may refer to the government or to some other authority in a position of power. In addition to this derogatory connotation, it may also serve as a term of respect and praise.
The phrase "the Man is keeping me down" is commonly used to describe oppression. The phrase "stick it to the Man" encourages resistance to authority, and essentially means "fight back" or "resist", either passively, openly or via sabotage.
History
As a phrase meaning "the boss" it dates from at least 1918.
In the Southern U.S. states, the phrase came to be applied to any man or any group in a position of authority, or to authority in the abstract. From about the 1950s the phrase was also an underworld code word for police, the warden of a prison or other law enforcement or penal authorities.
The use of this term was expanded to counterculture groups and their battles against authority, such as the Yippies, which, according to a May 19, 1969 article in U.S. News and World Report, had the "avowed aim ... to destroy 'The Man', their term for the present system of government". The term eventually found its way into humorous usage, such as in a December 1979 motorcycle ad from the magazine Easyriders which featured the tagline, "California residents: Add 6% sales tax for The Man."

Fairy tale
A fairy tale (pronounced /ˈfeəriˌteɪl/) is a type of short story that typically features European folkloric fantasy characters, such as dwarves, elves, fairies, giants, gnomes, goblins, mermaids, trolls, or witches, and usually magic or enchantments. Fairy tales may be distinguished from other folk narratives such as legends (which generally involve belief in the veracity of the events described) and explicitly moral tales, including beast fables.
In less technical contexts, the term is also used to describe something blessed with unusual happiness, as in "fairy tale ending" (a happy ending) or "fairy tale romance" (though not all fairy tales end happily). UPDATE: Eight months after this video was recorded Grandpa was actually the one to pass first. On May 15, 2016 Howard closed his eyes for the last time. Grandma (Laura Virginia) held on just five more days until she followed her love home on May 20, 2016. She was surrounded by members of our family who were singing her favorite hymn "How Great Thou Art" when she took her last breath. They both passed peacefully at home. They were laid to rest side by side on July 22, 2016 in Sarasota, FL. Our family misses them dearly and remembers them often! It usually includes, music, singing and dancing! Below is their obituary Mr. Howard Louis Serena and his wife of 73 years, Mrs. Laura Virginia Serena, both passed away in Gainesville, Florida, May 15, 2016 and May 20, 2016, respectively. Howard, a WWII veteran, and Laura were long time residents of Chicago, Illinois and Sarasota, Florida. The bond they shared was so strong that they passed within five days of each other. They are survived by their nine children, eighteen grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. ORIGINAL POST My grandparents Laura and Howard have been married 73 years. In this video Howard is 92 and Laura is 93. Laura (Grandma) is at a hospice facility making peace with her final days. I was lucky enough to capture this precious, heart-melting moment between the two of them. Howard (Grandpa) is singing to her their love song, the song that comforted her when he went away to fight in World War II. In fact, after fifty years of marriage, they renewed their vows and performed this song as a duet for the entire family at the reception. Sadly, Grandma is now too weak to sing, but that doesn't stop her from saying the words to him (see at 1:00). Howard then takes over for her and sings the rest of the song to her while stroking her face. Moments before this video began, when Grandma heard that Grandpa was in the room, she asked if she could hold him. Grandpa cannot stand on his own, but he immediately pulled his wheelchair close to her bed ready to make it happen. My cousin, Serena, who is a physical therapist, helped him to his feet and held him up throughout the entire song. You might notice above her bed there is a sign that says, “Patient Blind.” That is because she has macular degeneration, so she cannot see much of anything but shadows and light. That doesn’t stop her from looking deep into her love’s eyes. Grandpa, on the other hand, has lost most of his hearing, so you’ll notice us repeating things for him since Grandma is to weak to raise her voice. The song used in the video is “You’ll Never Know” performed by Rosemary Clooney with Harry James. Our family prefers this version because everyone always said Grandma had a voice just like Rosemary Clooney. After posting this video to Facebook, it began to go viral and all the outpouring of love lifted everyone's spirits... including Grandma's! They originally gave her just a week to live, but hospice eventually deemed her well enough to go back home to live out her remaining days. She is still considered “Terminal,” however, as of this posting my beautiful Grandma Laura Virginia is still with us resting peacefully at home. Our family along with the wonderful people from hospice are taking care of her and making sure she remains as pain-free and comfortable as possible while she prepares for her nearing departure. Highly fantasised origin stories, especially for differences among animals, they are among Kipling's best known works. UPDATE: Eight months after this video was recorded Grandpa was actually the one to pass first. On May 15, 2016 Howard closed his eyes for the last time. Grandma (Laura Virginia) held on just five more days until she followed her love home on May 20, 2016. She was surrounded by members of our family who were singing her favorite hymn "How Great Thou Art" when she took her last breath. They both passed peacefully at home. They were laid to rest side by side on July 22, 2016 in Sarasota, FL. Our family misses them dearly and remembers them often! It usually includes, music, singing and dancing! My grandparents Laura and Howard have been married 73 years. In this video Howard is 92 and Laura is 93. Laura (Grandma) is at a hospice facility making peace with her final days. I was lucky enough to capture this precious, heart-melting moment between the two of them. Howard (Grandpa) is singing to her their love song, the song that comforted her when he went away to fight in World War II.

At family gatherings, it was not uncommon for the two of them to sing this song together, each taking a verse and serenading the other. In fact, after fifty years of marriage, they renewed their vows and performed this song as a duet for the entire family at the reception. Sadly, Grandma is now too weak to sing, but that doesn't stop her from saying the words to him (see at 1:00). Howard then takes over for her and sings the rest of the song to her while stroking her face.
Moments before this video began, when Grandma heard that Grandpa was in the room, she asked if she could hold him. Grandpa cannot stand on his own, but he immediately pulled his wheelchair close to her bed ready to make it happen. My cousin, Serena, who is a physical therapist, helped him to his feet and held him up throughout the entire song.
You might notice above her bed there is a sign that says, “Patient Blind.” That is because she has macular degeneration, so she cannot see much of anything but shadows and light. That doesn’t stop her from looking deep into her love’s eyes. Grandpa, on the other hand, has lost most of his hearing, so you’ll notice us repeating things for him since Grandma is to weak to raise her voice.
The song used in the video is “You’ll Never Know” performed by Rosemary Clooney with Harry James. Our family prefers this version because everyone always said Grandma had a voice just like Rosemary Clooney.
After posting this video to Facebook, it began to go viral and all the outpouring of love lifted everyone's spirits... including Grandma's! They originally gave her just a week to live, but hospice eventually deemed her well enough to go back home to live out her remaining days. She is still considered “Terminal,” however, as of this posting my beautiful Grandma Laura Virginia is still with us resting peacefully at home. Our family along with the wonderful people from hospice are taking care of her and making sure she remains as pain-free and comfortable as possible while she prepares for her nearing departure. We all thank you so much for the love and kind words.

The Just So Stories for Little Children are a collection written by the British author Rudyard Kipling. Highly fantasised origin stories, especially for differences among animals, they are among Kipling's best known works.
The stories, first published in 1902, are pourquoi (French for "why") or origin stories, fantastic accounts of how various phenomena came about. A forerunner of these stories is Kipling's "How Fear Came," included in his The Second Jungle Book (1895). In it, Mowgli hears the story of how the tiger got his stripes.
The Just So Stories typically have the theme of a particular animal being modified from an original form to its current form by the acts of man, or some magical being. For example, the Whale has a tiny throat because he swallowed a mariner, who tied a raft inside to block the whale from swallowing other men. The Camel has a hump given to him by a djinn as punishment for the camel's refusing to work (the hump allows the camel to work longer between times of eating). The Leopard's spots were painted by an Ethiopian (after the Ethiopian painted himself black). The Kangaroo gets its powerful hind legs, long tail, and hopping gait after being chased all day by a dingo, sent by a minor god responding to the Kangaroo's request to be made different from all other animals.
Kipling illustrated the original editions of the Just So Stories. Other illustrators of the book include Joseph M. Gleeson.

UPDATE: Eight months after this video was recorded Grandpa was actually the one to pass first. On May 15, 2016 Howard closed his eyes for the last time. Grandma (Laura Virginia) held on just five more days until she followed her love home on May 20, 2016. She was surrounded by members of our family who were singing her favorite hymn "How Great Thou Art" when she took her last breath. They both passed peacefully at home. They were laid to rest side by side on July 22, 2016 in Sarasota, FL. Our family misses them dearly and remembers them often! It usually includes, music, singing and dancing! Arabian Nights is a collection of West and South Asian Stories compiled in Arabic. The main frame story concerns a Persian king, Shahryar and his new bride, Scheherazade. On every Night Scheherazade tells the king a tale, but does not end it. The king, curious about the stories end, thus postpones her execution in order to hear the conclusion. The tales vary widely - historical tales, love stories, tragedies and comedies.

Eight months after this video was recorded Grandpa was actually the one to pass first. On May 15, 2016 Howard closed his eyes for the last time. Grandma (Laura Virginia) held on just five more days until she followed her love home on May 20, 2016. She was surrounded by members of our family who were singing her favorite hymn "How Great Thou Art" when she took her last breath. They both passed peacefully at home. They were laid to rest side by side on July 22, 2016 in Sarasota, FL. Our family misses them dearly and remembers them often! It usually includes, music, singing and dancing!

Mr. Howard Louis Serena and his wife of 73 years, Mrs. Laura Virginia Serena, both passed away in Gainesville, Florida, May 15, 2016 and May 20, 2016, respectively. Howard, a WWII veteran, and Laura were long time residents of Chicago, Illinois and Sarasota, Florida. The bond they shared was so strong that they passed within five days of each other.
They are survived by their nine children, eighteen grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.

My grandparents Laura and Howard have been married 73 years. In this video Howard is 92 and Laura is 93. Laura (Grandma) is at a hospice facility making peace with her final days. I was lucky enough to capture this precious, heart-melting moment between the two of them. Howard (Grandpa) is singing to her their love song, the song that comforted her when he went away to fight in World War II.

At family gatherings, it was not uncommon for the two of them to sing this song together, each taking a verse and serenading the other. In fact, after fifty years of marriage, they renewed their vows and performed this song as a duet for the entire family at the reception. Sadly, Grandma is now too weak to sing, but that doesn't stop her from saying the words to him (see at 1:00). Howard then takes over for her and sings the rest of the song to her while stroking her face.
Moments before this video began, when Grandma heard that Grandpa was in the room, she asked if she could hold him. Grandpa cannot stand on his own, but he immediately pulled his wheelchair close to her bed ready to make it happen. My cousin, Serena, who is a physical therapist, helped him to his feet and held him up throughout the entire song.
You might notice above her bed there is a sign that says, “Patient Blind.” That is because she has macular degeneration, so she cannot see much of anything but shadows and light. That doesn’t stop her from looking deep into her love’s eyes. Grandpa, on the other hand, has lost most of his hearing, so you’ll notice us repeating things for him since Grandma is to weak to raise her voice.
The song used in the video is “You’ll Never Know” performed by Rosemary Clooney with Harry James. Our family prefers this version because everyone always said Grandma had a voice just like Rosemary Clooney.
After posting this video to Facebook, it began to go viral and all the outpouring of love lifted everyone's spirits... including Grandma's! They originally gave her just a week to live, but hospice eventually deemed her well enough to go back home to live out her remaining days. She is still considered “Terminal,” however, as of this posting my beautiful Grandma Laura Virginia is still with us resting peacefully at home. Our family along with the wonderful people from hospice are taking care of her and making sure she remains as pain-free and comfortable as possible while she prepares for her nearing departure. We all thank you so much for the love and kind words.

Fable is a literary genre: a succinct fictional story, in prose or verse, that features animals, mythical creatures, plants, inanimate objects, or forces of nature that are anthropomorphized. A fable differs from a parable in that the latter excludes animals, plants, inanimate objects, and forces of nature as actors that assume speech or other powers of humankind.
Some of the best stories for kids are the classics. These stories have been around for generations, and are still best sellers and favorites in many families. Many great stories for kids are available today in the bookstores as well as online.
Short Moral Stories seem hard to come by these day or maybe just that there are so many shows and stories available with no moral content.
A bedtime story is a traditional form of storytelling, where a story is told to a child at bedtime to prepare the child for sleep. It's really better if you have soft, comfortable jammies for them. Next, you might want to read your child a bedtime story.

The Just So Stories for Little Children are a collection written by the British author Rudyard Kipling. Highly fantasised origin stories, especially for differences among animals, they are among Kipling's best known works.
The stories, first published in 1902, are pourquoi (French for "why") or origin stories, fantastic accounts of how various phenomena came about. A forerunner of these stories is Kipling's "How Fear Came," included in his The Second Jungle Book (1895). In it, Mowgli hears the story of how the tiger got his stripes.
The Just So Stories typically have the theme of a particular animal being modified from an original form to its current form by the acts of man, or some magical being. For example, the Whale has a tiny throat because he swallowed a mariner, who tied a raft inside to block the whale from swallowing other men. The Camel has a hump given to him by a djinn as punishment for the camel's refusing to work (the hump allows the camel to work longer between times of eating). The Leopard's spots were painted by an Ethiopian (after the Ethiopian painted himself black). The Kangaroo gets its powerful hind legs, long tail, and hopping gait after being chased all day by a dingo, sent by a minor god responding to the Kangaroo's request to be made different from all other animals.
Kipling illustrated the original editions of the Just So Stories. Other illustrators of the book include Joseph M. Gleeson.
