This is a wonderful commercial entertainer in the combination of Upendra, Srinivasaraju and Dr CR Manohar. Scintillating part of the film is the screenplay and preserving the suspense on the action of hero in multiple responsibilities. For all questions in the mind Srinivasaraju gives a splendid answer. Director Srinivasaraju also showcase how important is ‘Dharma’. He has given cinematic end to terrorism and attack on this sub continent India. ‘Shivam’ is director Srinivasaraju best so far. His home work and struggle is understandable after watching the film. He knows how to mix complicated issues and make it convincing. With international attack on India and ‘Dharma’ on the other side director Srinivasaraju from this film ‘Shivam’ also graduate the audience intelligence. He is quick, dashing and appealing in his narration. At the climax, priest Shivaprasad saying the two ears of every Indian hears Kausalya Supraja Rama….and Allah O Akbar and living peacefully deserves national applaud for director Srinivasaraju. In the highly respected family of Paramashiva, priest of ancient Shiva temple the several generations have continued rituals in a systematic manner. Paramashiva (Srinivasamurthy) wants his first son to take up the link. I am not for it and my scientific launches are important says the first son. When the tormentors are about to take on the temple with ulterior motives, Shivaprasad (Upendra) second son of Paramashiva comes up with precise answer. While there is battle for Shivaprasad outside this religious work, he takes stern decision and proves through his knowledge his strength to continue his father Paramashiva tradition. An array of religious knowledge test is made for Shivaprasad and the elders in the society are confirmed that he is fit for rituals to Lord Shiva. Shivaprasad is a man with extraordinary intelligence, power and vigor. His basic work is for RAW in New Delhi. He has traveled widely to finish off danger to India. It is Amanulla Khan (Ravishanker), the biggest trouble shooter. As the attack on Shivaprasad outside the temple unravels the audience goes to a solid flashback and know the purpose of Shivaprasad. It is not right to disclose everything. You have to watch it for the concern and effort of director Srinivasaraju. The point of ‘Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitaha’ is the end point of the film. Super star Upendra is really super in his very responsible role. He was not seen in the attire of a priest so far. Upendra is fabulous in the get up and his solid action, dialogues and screen presence is the first major score of the film. Ragini sizzles once again with a rocking performance getting in to the den of international criminals. The song for Ragini - Sakkathu Ishta…is superb. Saloni as traditional girl also haunts like Ragini Dwivedi. A highly respected veteran actor Srinivasamurthy has added extra dimension to the role with his ability. Doddanna, Makrand Deshnapde, CR Gopi, Kari Subbu, Sharat Lohitashva, Avinash, Lohitashva, Arjun, Gowrish Akki, Geetha, Bhavya added value to their roles. It is newcomer Gururaj M Desai dialogues that is punching and befitting to the occasions in the film. The music of Mani Sharma is also on top in three tunes. The religious song, Sarala Virala…..Sakkath Ishta Naughty Boys…are mass songs in the film. The action is fantastic from Kanal Kannan, Ravi Verma and Thriller Manju. The film is luxuriously made and nothing short of any Hindi cinema.
