Community Discussion and Refreshments
During the late ’50s and early ’60s, J. Edgar Hoover and the FBI felt threatened by what they saw as a militant black movement in America and developed the Counter Intelligence Program, or COINTELPRO. Filmed in 1990, The FBI’s war on Black America exposes COINTELPRO, the Government’s attempt to subvert and destroy influential Afrikan community leaders, organizations, and movements.
Black August is a time to study, sacrifice, commemorate, and continue the resistance of Freedom Fighters inside and out of the Prison Industrial Complex. Our revolutionaries will live on!
