Underground (The Electric Prunes album)

Underground is the second studio album by the American garage rock band, The Electric Prunes, and was released in 1967 on Reprise Records. It would be the final album of any materialized input by band members until the 1969 "New Improved" Electric Prunes were formed. The album was a moderate chart hit, but, without a hit-ready single, the band could not repeat their past success.

Background

The album, Underground, brought changes to the band once recording began. Limited lyrical input plagued the band's creative process on their debut. Only one track, composed by Mark Tulin and James Lowe, called "Lovin'" was included on their first album. This changed with this album because Dave Hassinger, the group's producer, was not as active in the sessions resulting in nine of the 12 tracks becoming the band's own material. With so much more musical freedom, the band could mold their music into their own image. The final products were a more direct and cohesive set of songs that reflected the band's own design.

Washington station (CTA Blue Line)

Washington (also Washington/Dearborn) is a rapid transit station on the Chicago Transit Authority's 'L' system. It is situated between the Clark/Lake and Jackson stations on the Milwaukee-Dearborn subway segment of the Blue Line in downtown Chicago near the Richard J. Daley Center.

History

Washington opened on February 25, 1951, as part of the new Milwaukee-Dearborn subway, the second of a planned series of subways to be constructed in Chicago. The station was entirely renovated from 1982 to 1984. As constructed, the station had two stairways to a lower level pedestrian transfer tunnel to the Washington station in the State Street Subway (now part of the Red Line). At 12:00 a.m. on October 23, 2006, the lower level transfer tunnel to the Red Line was closed as part of the construction of a planned superstation under what is commonly referred to as Block 37. On November 20, 2009, the pedway linking the Lake station's unpaid area to that of Washington reopened and in May 2013, the CTA provided a farecard transfer through the pedway between the stations.

Washington station (Los Angeles Metro)

Washington is an at-grade light rail station on the Los Angeles County Metro Blue Line.

It has an island platform in the center median of Long Beach Avenue near the intersection of Washington Blvd in the city of Los Angeles, California.

At this station, the Blue Line changes from the roughly northwest-to-southeast direction down the center of Washington Boulevard to the north-south direction down the center media of Long Beach Avenue.

Washington, Louisiana

Washington is a small town in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 1,082 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Opelousas–Eunice Micropolitan Statistical Area. Washington was the largest inland port between New Orleans and St. Louis for much of the 19th century.

Washington is located at 30°36′52″N 92°3′30″W / 30.61444°N 92.05833°W / 30.61444; -92.05833 (30.614428, -92.058363).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.3 km²), of which, 0.9 square miles (2.3 km²) of it is land and 1.15% is water.

Demographics

At the 2000 census, there were 1,082 people, 459 households and 289 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,256.8 per square mile (485.8/km²). There were 535 housing units at an average density of 621.4 per square mile (240.2/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 43.07% White, 56.28% African American, 0.37% from other races, and 0.28% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.02% of the population.
