A fairly normal ride on a clear day in Dongying, Shandong. Most rides have a little more "action" of people pulling in front of me but it's a good first video of what getting around here looks like.
Follow me, 小白 (Xiao Bai) as I take you on a tour around Dongying, a city in the north of Shandong province, China.
In this the second episode, I'm at Shengli Square, otherwise known as Victory Square in the west part of DY. Also I will show you the area between Jinan road and Dongdu, the main shopping area in west Dongying.

Dongying
Dongying (simplified Chinese: 东营; traditional Chinese: 東營; pinyin: Dōngyíng), a prefecture-level city, lies on the northern (Bohai Sea) coast of Shandong province, People's Republic of China. At the 2010 census, 2,035,338 people resided within its administrative area of 7,923.26 km2 (3,059.19 sq mi) and 998,968 in the built-up area made up of Dongying district and Kenli County largely being urbanized. Dongying is home to the Shengli Oilfield which after the Daqing oilfield is the second largest oilfield in China.
Administration
The prefecture-level city of Dongying administers 5 county-level divisions, including 2 districts and 3 counties:
These are further divided into 43 township-level divisions, including 23 towns, 13 townships and 7 subdistricts.
History
The city was established in 1983, as a base for developing the Yellow River Delta and China's second largest oilfield, Shengli Field. The oilfield was discovered in 1964 near a small village called Dongying, which gave its name to the city.

Kong Rong, Fan Zhongyan, Ouyang Xiu, Su Dongpo, Zheng Banqiao, et al. have worked in Weifang historically. In more recent years, revolutionists, literateurs and artists, such as Wang Jinmei, Chen Shaomin, Wang Yuanjian, Wang Tongzhao, Zang Kejia are well known in China. Weifang also boasts of historical relics and other tourist sites, such as Shihu Garden (from the Late Ming and early Qing Dynasty), Fangong Pavilion (from the Song Dynasty), fossile sites (including dinosaur fossils, in Shanwang, Linqu), Mount Yi National Forest Park, Mount Qingyun and the Old Dragon Spring. Weifang is the world capital of kites. The woodcut new years paintings from Yangjiabu are well known.
