Oldham /ˈɒldəm/ is a large town in Greater Manchester, England, amid the Pennines between the rivers Irk and Medlock, 5.3 miles (8.5 km) south-southeast of Rochdale and 6.9 miles (11.1 km) northeast of Manchester. Together with several smaller surrounding towns, it is part of the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham of which it is the administrative centre.
Historically in Lancashire, and with little early history to speak of, Oldham rose to prominence in the 19th century as an international centre of textile manufacture. It was a boomtown of the Industrial Revolution, and among the first ever industrialised towns, rapidly becoming "one of the most important centres of cotton and textile industries in England". At its zenith, it was the most productive cotton spinning mill town in the world, producing more cotton than France and Germany combined. Oldham's textile industry fell into decline in the mid-20th century; the town's last mill closed in 1998.

Plot: Fur is sexy, beautiful, sensuous and luxurious. Nothing feels better against your skin, and beautiful, sexy, successful people wear it. Fur is also environmentally friendly and is therefore a sustainable resource. These are the campaigns the fur industry uses to get people to commit the ultimate atrocities permitted against animals. Consumers are misled by retailers who assure them that animals used for fur are humanely euthanized, intentionally hiding the reality of how the animals are hideously killed. Step inside the world of SKIN TRADE. Hundreds of hours of interviews with insiders, designers, leaders and celebrities compiled in a heart punching documentary directed and produced by award winning director Shannon Keith. This film lends a voice to the voiceless whose skin is ripped from them while often still alive. Understand what makes this savage industry tick and what it will take to change it. Whether you are a fan of fur or repulsed by the thought, you owe it to yourself to watch this moving peek inside the dark world of ugly glamour and painful beauty.

Todd Oldham teamed up with PETA for an animal-friendly fashion tutorial video, in which he illustrates how he creatively adapts various fabrics to avoid using fur, leather, feathers, and other animal-derived materials. The video was filmed at the Rhode Island School of Design, which recently hosted a museum retrospective dedicated to his whimsical fashions. Oldham's tutorial debuted at America's top design school, Parsons School of Design, in February 2017 at a PETA-hosted panel discussion on sustainable vegan fashion that was moderated by the designer himself, as the school publicly announced the removal of its longtime fur program. Join the cruelty-free fashion revolution—wear vegan. PETA's mission statement is that animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, use for entertainment...
Alexander Girard was something of a Renaissance man in the world of mid-century modernism—his oeuvre spans everything from textiles to architecture to typography to interior design to the iconic rebranding of Braniff Airlines. In fact, the sheer volume of his output has so far precluded any one book from covering the entire breadth of his talents—until now. It took 15 pounds, 672 pages and one very talented bookbinder, but Todd Oldham has managed to put together the definitive monograph on the epically prolific designer. Electoral Dysfunction Florida College, 'Electoral Dysfunction' uses irreverent humor to illuminate how voting works - and doesn't work - in America. Hosted by Mo Rocca (a Correspondent for CBS News, a panelist on NPR's 'Wait, Wait ... Don't Tell Me!' and a former Correspondent for 'The Daily Show'), the film is structured as a road trip that begins when Mo makes an eye-opening discovery: The Constitution does not guarantee the right to vote, putting America in the company of Libya, Iran and Indonesia. Mo explores the battle over voter fraud and voter I.D.; searches for the Electoral College; critiques ballot design with Todd Oldham; and encounters experts and activists across the political spectrum who offer commentary on why our voting system is broken and how it can be fixed.
