1. Miley Cyrus
For those who have often felt Miley marching to the beat of her own drums, now you will know why. Miley suffers from a heart rate faster than normal in a condition called tachycardia. The condition is not dangerous in the form that Miley has, but she admits it does often occupy her thoughts for obvious reasons. “There is never a time on stage when I’m not thinking about my heart,” Miley told the world. Nevertheless, the singer marches on with her life...
2. Kim Kardashian
Every photo we see of this reality star is pretty much flawless; Not really, but many see it that way. Well, guess this is due to the marvels of the Photoshop, as the Armerican beauty actually suffers from psoriasis, a skin disease which often results in red, scaly patches on the skin. There is no cure, and Kim had it forever. It can also create issues for the nails and scalp, and when you’re pregnant, which Kim was, the condition could have been even worse.
3. Michael Phelps
This Olympic superstar’s path to being a champion was no accident. And he can take all of the credit for the focus and discipline he used to get there. Diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 9, Michael was put on Ritalin for several years. Embarrassed by the school nurse delivering his meds and not wanting to be dependent on them, Michael started training his mind to control his behavior and hone his focus. His teacher had said Michael would never succeed at anything. Well, guess what fellow teacher? You were soo damn wrong.
4. Prince
In 2009, Prince told an incredible story on the PBS show Tavis Smiley. Having been born epileptic, the young Prince suffered seizures constantly. He hated being sick, but his parents could do little to help him given their financial standing. Then one day, Prince informed his mother that he was through with his disease. Asking her son “Why?” the future star told her, “Because an angel told me so.” His epilepsy did go away, and angels must have stayed with him, as he became one of pop’s living angels.
5. Pamela Anderson
You would never have known it, but this sexy actress had thought she was in for an early death just about 16 years ago. It was then that Pamela was diagnosed with Hepatitis C, a disease that affects primarily the liver. However, just recently, Pam’s doctors have put her on a new drug approved by the FDA which could leave her free of the disease within a month! After battling for so long and hiding it so beautifully, we wish the Baywatch starlet only good health for her future.

Sally Burke is a mother from Hull. But to see her daughter – 13-year-old Maisie – she is forced to make a 118-mile roundtrip to Sheffield, where Maisie is currently sectioned under the Mental Health Act and receiving treatment for paranoid schizophrenia.
A national shortage of hospital beds means people in crisis are being shunted all over the UK for hospital care. This, tragically, includes children. If troubled young people having to wait for two years for mental health treatment wasn't bad enough, that they can often only be admitted to psychiatric wards that are miles away from their homes and families is even more terrifying.
The figures surrounding the mental health of young Brits are alarming. The number of children being admitted to hospital for self-harm is at a five-year high. Admissions of girls aged 10-14 have increased by 93 percent in the last four years, to 5,953, while there's been a rise of 45 percent in boys. Within this same timeframe, NHS spending on children's mental health services in England has fallen by approximately £50 million.
These have left local services in a desperate position, and the human consequence of this is felt by people like Sally and Maisie. We join the former as she makes the trek to Sheffield, its emotional toll only increased by the knowledge that just a mile away from her home is a unit that could have housed Maisie had its overnight care facility not been shut two years ago.
Maisie is a short film about what happens to a family when a child is hit by severe mental health problems and a government breaks its promises.

Sally Burke is a mother from Hull. But to see her daughter – 13-year-old Maisie – she is forced to make a 118-mile roundtrip to Sheffield, where Maisie is currently sectioned under the Mental Health Act and receiving treatment for paranoid schizophrenia.
A national shortage of hospital beds means people in crisis are being shunted all over the UK for hospital care. This, tragically, includes children. If troubled young people having to wait for two years for mental health treatment wasn't bad enough, that they can often only be admitted to psychiatric wards that are miles away from their homes and families is even more terrifying.
The figures surrounding the mental health of young Brits are alarming. The number of children being admitted to hospital for self-harm is at a five-year high. Admissions of girls aged 10-14 have increased by 93 percent in the last four years, to 5,953, while there's been a rise of 45 percent in boys. Within this same timeframe, NHS spending on children's mental health services in England has fallen by approximately £50 million.
These have left local services in a desperate position, and the human consequence of this is felt by people like Sally and Maisie. We join the former as she makes the trek to Sheffield, its emotional toll only increased by the knowledge that just a mile away from her home is a unit that could have housed Maisie had its overnight care facility not been shut two years ago.
Maisie is a short film about what happens to a family when a child is hit by severe mental health problems and a government breaks its promises.
