Wesleyan hires new faculty members

With the growth in enrollment NC Wesleyan has experienced over the last few years, the college is expanding its full-time faculty for the 2016-17 academic year.
“We are very fortunate to have a majority of tenured faculty, however, we recognize with more students, we must continue to add to our seasoned faculty base in order to maintain the integrity and quality of the Wesleyan education,” said Dr. Evan Duff, interim provost and senior vice president of academic affairs, “These professionals are student-centered and committed to excellence in teaching and learning.”
Daniel Henderson PhD, is an assistant professor of exercise science. He earned his doctorate degree from Indiana University. Dr. Henderson has co-authored numerous abstracts and presented his research findings at the national meeting of the American College of Sports Medicine and other professional forums. Most recently, Henderson was an assistant professor of kinesiology and health sciences at Hendrix College in Arkansas.
Bennie L. Felts PhD, is an associate professor of business. He earned his doctorate degree from Capella University. He also holds degrees from Elon University and N.C. Central University. Felts most recently was an assistant professor of management at the University of Mt. Olive, where he also served as chairman of the masters in business program.
Jung Hyun Choi PhD, is a visiting professor of religious studies. She earned her doctorate in theology at Harvard University. She holds a master’s degree in sacred theology from Yale University and a master of divinity from Harvard. Choi was most recently an instructor of Bible II: Gospels at Duke Divinity School.
Jamie Hathaway is a visiting English professor. She earned her master’s in English education from East Carolina University. She graduated from N.C. Wesleyan with a bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in history. Hathaway was formerly an English instructor in Edgecombe County Public Schools and Edgecombe Community College.
