Since the terrorist attacks in Paris hate crimes against Muslims have gone up 300% in the UK. Most of the attacks have been against Muslim women, who are easy to identify by their traditional dress. “Muslims living in Britain have suffered more than 100 racial attacks since the terrorist atrocities in Paris, figures prepared for ministers reveal.
A report to the Government’s working group on anti-Muslim hatred, seen by The Independent, shows a spike in Islamophobic hate crime of more than 300 per cent, to 115, in the week following the killings on November 13 in France.
Most victims of the UK hate crimes were Muslim girls and women aged from 14 to 45 in traditional Islamic dress. The perpetrators were mainly white males aged from 15 to 35.”

Adam Pearson is on a mission to explore disability hate crime - to find out why it goes under-reported, under-recorded and under people's radar. In this documentary, Adam challenges people into questioning their attitudes towards disability and disfigurement, to uncover the roots of the issue.
Adam has neurofibromatosis type 1, a condition that causes benign tumours to grow on nerve endings - in his case, on his face. He is disfigured and disabled and has experienced disability hate crime first-hand, like a number of his friends, some of whom he meets with in the film. Their stories may differ, but their disability as the motivating factor is constant.
Just days into his investigation, Adam becomes the target of some grossly offensive online hate speech. While this isn't unusual for him, for the first time Adam decides to take action, reporting it to the police - with some unexpected outcomes.
Undeterred, he looks to understand the laws specific to disability hate crime, and finds that a mixture of ignorance and inequalities mean that these crimes often don't make it to our courts, or are sentenced less severely than other hate crimes when they do.
Adam looks to uncover what attitudes and influences may be causing people to commit disability hate crime in the first place, questioning whether the portrayal of disfigurement and disability in the media, for example, could be leading us to associate them with being 'the bad guys'.
With help from Miles Hewstone, professor of social psychology at the University of Oxford, Adam conducts an experiment measuring peoples' innate prejudice towards disfigurement that gives some shocking results, and leads him to question if he alone can hope to affect a change - and if so, how?

CINCINNATI, OH. A group known as the Traditionalist Youth Network wants stronger charges brought against those involved in the Fountain Square attack.
“Why is there a double standard when it comes to white lives in Cincinnati,” said Chairman of the Cincinnati chapter Matthew Heimbach.
“In the incident report the police officer said it was anti-white violence.” Heimbach is referring to the attack on a white man from Indiana named Chris McKnight.
McKnight was beaten by a group of what appears to be black men on Fountain Square. The police officer working the case originally classified it as a robbery and felt it was a hate crime. Later, the officer changed his mind and reclassified the incident report.
“You had 40 assailants and one white victim…if it were a reversed case where 40 white men beat a black man, that would be called a hate crime,” Heimbach continued.
Hamilton County prosecutor Joe Deters announced that a grand jury had indicted seven people on a seven count indictment for the attack on McKnight and police.
As far as classifying the attack as a hate crime, Deters would not go that far. “We have no evidence of ethnic intimidation besides the victim being a different color than the people who did it,” said Deters.
If convicted, the men involved could spend the next decade in prison.

"It's just shocking.. I didn't even think anybody would do anything like that."
Cops say a brutal battery on a woman in broad daylight, happened October 1st on Mack Road.
"He goes up and punches her in the face. That's kinda the shocking part of the video. It's unprovoked," Sacramento police Sgt. Andrew Pettit said.
After some taunting and laughing at the woman, she's attacked once again.
"He takes a fighting stance, punches in the face. Knocks her right to the ground. He looks like he has no remorse and just walks away," Petitt said.
Neighboring businesses called police. The woman didn't want any medical help, and didn't even want to make a big deal of her attack.
But now, police say with her help, and the video capturing the assault, they have a better chance of prosecuting the suspects.
"Especially with this video that's practially viral," Pettit added.
"I got nothing to do with it. I mind my own business."
That was the attitude of many locals who hang out in the area. They felt the attack was wrong, but it didn't surprise them.
"Cars probably kept going by. Police passee, kept going by. They didn't pay no mind," another local said.
"That's somebody's mother, somebody's grandma, somebody's auntie. But if you see where we live and you see the environment, it's a cold world."
Police are investigating if this a possible hate crime, as they are trying to determine the woman's mental capacity.

Hate crime
A hate crime (also known as a bias-motivated crime) is a prejudice-motivated crime, often violent, which occurs when a perpetrator targets a victim because of his or her membership (or perceived membership) in a certain social group. Adam Pearson is on a mission to explore disability hate crime - to find out why it goes under-reported, under-recorded and under people's radar. In this documentary, Adam challenges people into questioning their attitudes towards disability and disfigurement, to uncover the roots of the issue.
Adam has neurofibromatosis type 1, a condition that causes benign tumours to grow on nerve endings - in his case, on his face. He is disfigured and disabled and has experienced disability hate crime first-hand, like a number of his friends, some of whom he meets with in the film. Their stories may differ, but their disability as the motivating factor is constant.
Just days into his investigation, Adam becomes the target of some grossly offensive online hate speech. While this isn't unusual for him, for the first time Adam decides to take action, reporting it to the police - with some unexpected outcomes.
Undeterred, he looks to understand the laws specific to disability hate crime, and finds that a mixture of ignorance and inequalities mean that these crimes often don't make it to our courts, or are sentenced less severely than other hate crimes when they do.
Adam looks to uncover what attitudes and influences may be causing people to commit disability hate crime in the first place, questioning whether the portrayal of disfigurement and disability in the media, for example, could be leading us to associate them with being 'the bad guys'.
With help from Miles Hewstone, professor of social psychology at the University of Oxford, Adam conducts an experiment measuring peoples' innate prejudice towards disfigurement that gives some shocking results, and leads him to question if he alone can hope to affect a change - and if so, how?

“Why is ...
CINCINNATI, OH. A group known as the Traditionalist Youth Network wants stronger charges brought against those involved in the Fountain Square attack.
“Why is there a double standard when it comes to white lives in Cincinnati,” said Chairman of the Cincinnati chapter Matthew Heimbach.
“In the incident report the police officer said it was anti-white violence.” Heimbach is referring to the attack on a white man from Indiana named Chris McKnight.
McKnight was beaten by a group of what appears to be black men on Fountain Square. The police officer working the case originally classified it as a robbery and felt it was a hate crime. Later, the officer changed his mind and reclassified the incident report.
“You had 40 assailants and one white victim…if it were a reversed case where 40 white men beat a black man, that would be called a hate crime,” Heimbach continued.
Hamilton County prosecutor Joe Deters announced that a grand jury had indicted seven people on a seven count indictment for the attack on McKnight and police.
As far as classifying the attack as a hate crime, Deters would not go that far. “We have no evidence of ethnic intimidation besides the victim being a different color than the people who did it,” said Deters.
If convicted, the men involved could spend the next decade in prison.

Cops say a brutal battery on a woman in broad daylight, happened October 1st on Mack Road.
"He goes up and punches her in the face. That's kinda the shocking part of the video. It's unprovoked," Sacramento police Sgt. Andrew Pettit said.
After some taunting and laughing at the woman, she's attacked once again.
"He takes a fighting stance, punches in the face. Knocks her right to the ground. He looks like he has no remorse and just walks away," Petitt said.
Neighboring businesses called police. The woman didn't want any medical help, and didn't even want to make a big deal of her attack.
But now, police say with her help, and the video capturing the assault, they have a better chance of prosecuting the suspects.
"Especially with this video that's practially viral," Pettit added.
"I got nothing to do with it. I mind my own business."
That was the attitude of many locals who hang out in the area. They felt the attack was wrong, but it didn't surprise them.
"Cars probably kept going by. Police passee, kept going by. They didn't pay no mind," another local said.
"That's somebody's mother, somebody's grandma, somebody's auntie. But if you see where we live and you see the environment, it's a cold world."
Police are investigating if this a possible hate crime, as they are trying to determine the woman's mental capacity.

Latino stabs Muslim woman to death, not a hate crime
Police have arrested a man they say admitted to stabbing a 60-year-old woman to death in Queens last week. Police have arrested a man they say admitted to stabbing a 60-year-old woman to death in Queens last week.
Investigators say 22-year-old Yonatan Galvez-Marin admitted that he tried to rob Nazma Khanam while she was walking home in Jamaica, Queens Wednesday night.
He allegedly stabbed Khanam after she refused to give him money.
He's now facing charges of murder, attempted robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police have dismissed the idea that the killing was hate crime, but Majeda Uddin, the victim's niece, believes Khanam was killed because of her faith.
She says negative rhetoric from the presidential election has fueled backlash against Muslims.
"No. I think every month is creating new people, because of racism, because of hate crimes, many more, because all the months, this is an election year. How is it going, happening all of a sudden?" Uddin said.
However, a local resident says neighbors are accepting of one another.
"Some of the people, the reaction on their face, they felt it was a hate crime. I think they understand that all their fellow neighbors give them the support that it's not," the resident said.
Khanam was a Bangladeshi immigrant and the aunt of an NYPD officer. She will buried in her native country.

White powder sent to mosques, an Eastern European shop targeted by arsonists and an attack on a curry house in London are just some of the latest examples of racist hate crimes committed after the Brexit vote.
New figures show more than 3,000 hate crimes and incidents were reported to police across the UK in the second half of June – a jump of 42 percent compared to last year.
The daily rate peaked at 289 alleged offenses on June 25, the day after the EU referendum result was announced, according to the Daily Mail.
Thousands of people have taken to Twitter using the hashtag #PostRefRacism to document xenophobia they have seen or experienced on Britain’s streets since the Brexit vote.
Packages containing white powder were sent to three mosques and Islamic centres across the capital in Tottenham, Leyton and Finsbury Park on Thursday. Another package, which was sent to peer Lord Ahmed, a Muslim, forced the closure of part of the parliamentary estate.
A worshipper in Tottenham said the package was annotated with a crossed-out drawing of a mosque, an offensive term and the word “filth,” according to the Independent.
Areeb Ul said: “A committee member from the mosque called the police after his dad felt itchy from the white powder.
“Someone somewhere is trying to send the Muslim community in the UK a message.
“And whether we like it or not, Islamophobia is real. We cannot afford to be afraid of speaking out when someone clearly wants us to do the opposite.”
The Metropolitan Police is also investigating an attack on a curry house in east London’s Brick Lane, owned by Azmal Hussein, who had campaigned for Britain to remain in the EU.
“I’m absolutely devastated about the attack. It is definitely racist,” he told the Daily Mail.
