Band name:
OUR ACTUAL NAME IS UNPRONOUNCABLE IN YOUR EARTHEN LANGUAGES (DUE TO YOUR LACK OF TONGUES); HOWEVER IT ROUGHLY TRANSLATES TO “THE PEANUTS.”
Date & location formed:
WE WERE FORMED IN DIMENSION C-37X ROUGHLY 17 FLIM FLAMS AGO. I BELIEVE THIS WORKS OUT TO BE ABOUT JANUARY OF 2016.
Reason for forming:
WE ORIGINALLY FORMED AS A ROYAL BATTALION TO FEND OUR HOMEWORLD FROM INVADING SPACEWORMS, BUT SOON FOUND THAT A SONIC OFFENSE WAS A MORE VIABLE OPTION.
What are your lyrics about?
LYRICS? DO YOU MEAN OUR VERBALISED ATOMIC RAYS? THOSE JUST KIND OF SOUND LIKE NASALLY FARTS.
How would you describe your sound?
THE CRIES OF 1000 SUNS LISTENING TO “TIME OUT FOR FUN” BY DEVO AT ONCE.
What’s in the future for this band?
OUR FUTURE IS ALREADY IN THE PAST, AS WELL AS THE PRESENT. TIME IS A HUMAN MADE CONSTRUCT WHICH WE FIND LAUGHABLE.
AND YOU MAY ALSO CONTACT OUR MAJOR EARTH REPRESENTATIVE, WALKER MACDONALD, AT
Band name:
ETC. or Etecétera (the name came from a Kurt Vonnegut reference that says that ETC. means “sameness without end” and that’s how our lifes feel.
Date & location formed:
We formed around March, this year. It all started at a small room at the top of Rodrigo’s house (Mexico City), with just a guitar, its amp and a small drum kit.
Reason for forming:
While I was doing some different things with Olvido, Rodrigo and I decided to make a band; something that we always dreamed since junior high. So, yeah… a lot of years went by and we made these five songs in about a week. It took time to record em, ’cause we didn’t (and still) had the money to properly record em, so I borrowed a Tascam DR-07 and started to record instrument by instrument with Rodrigo; It was so hard, I’ve never done something like that before. Then I mixed em with ProTools and tried to make em less shitty. Finally, we decided to record Operación Ser Humano by Los Baraja, cause we love that fucking song.
What are your lyrics about?
Our lyrics are about a couple of things; from “being a huge and untouchable douchebag in the punk scene”, to a history of injustice in the mexican penitentiary system. But, those are just the first two songs, the rest of the songs are a lot about my anxiety and depression that’s fucking with me every single day.
How would you describe your sound?
I dunno. I would like to say punk for anxious and angry people. That’s why the quality of it sucks!
What’s in the future for this band?
Well, maybe make a real ‘band’ (not just the two of us), start playing shows, make some tapes, and that stuff. If all of that never happens, we’re still making some new songs that will come out later this year.

And if you wanna get personal:
Band name:
DAGGAS
Date & location formed:
Winter 2015, San fernando / Santiago de Chile.
Reason for forming:
We decided to start a band that allow us to express the negative side of our view about the life.
What are your lyrics about?
An iron glove strangling your neck, sultry and sad.
How would you describe your sound?
Noise and sick punk.
What’s in the future for this band?
Preparing surprises for the future.
Reason for forming:
We just needed the money you know. I had gone into business with the wrong people to pay off my loans and bills and stuff because, come on, work sucks. Now these people needed their money back and I had just spent it all so I was in a bit of a predicament so to speak. I saw this add that a local pub needed a cover band and the money was pretty good so I called up some friends and we formed the band. We were rehearsing songs like brown eyed girl, hotel california and that kind of crap but when we were supposed to play our first gig we all got so high and drunk the songs sounded more like a drug induced psychosis than anything else. Anyhow people kinda seemed to like it so we stuck to that concept and now we’re big shots. Real high rollers baby.
What are your lyrics about?
Its mostly mumbo jumbo and total nonsense but once in a while we sing about more serious subjects like pizza flavored kisses and being a real high roller.
How would you describe your sound?
A cover band trying to play ”Boys are back in town” during a drug induced psychosis.
What’s in the future for this band?
Were playing a show in London on the 1st of October at the SLIME BALL at old blue last with fellow labelmates. Also our debut full length album ”GLADE” will be released on PNKSLM recordings next spring.
Date & location formed:
2015 around Ungdomshuset Copenhagen k-town.
Reason for forming:
We had a ton of idea’s and riff that wouldnt match our other bands
we got together in a reheardsal space and suddenly we had alot of songs.
What are your lyrics about?
Everyday life, and our perspective of this crappy world.
How would you describe your sound?
We have all being listen to alot of dangerhouse stuff and want to do our own version
we through it should turn out a more surfed than it did but i guess we just went to a darker direction.
What’s in the future for this band?
Record a 7″ during September, and get touring.
Reason for forming:
To bring the thunder of hard rock to the lightning of hard core. No but seriously, Leo (drums) and Jerka (guitar) had written a batch of songs for their old band that weren’t going to be used and they figured they’d start a new band in the style of those new songs. So they invited me (Oskar (vocals)) and Adam (bass) knowing that we shared their love for hardcore and rock n roll and after that things came pretty natural.
What are your lyrics about?
Mostly going to shows, partying, fucking and dealing with anxiety. And the pains and pleasures of living in Stockholm.
How would you describe your sound?
Hardcore punk with a healthy dose of rock n roll.
What’s in the future for this band?
Adam just recently became a father so things have been moving kind of slow the last couple of months, but we’ll soon be recording a new 7’’ and then hopefully we’ll start writing more new songs and do some touring as well.
Date & location formed:
Winter 2015 in New Jersey.
Reason for forming:
The lead singer, Dash Maybe, forced the rest of the group to come together and play a one-off gig, but then it ended up being a lot of fun and now it can’t be stopped.
What are your lyrics about?
Dogs, muscles, female empowerment, slime, paranoia, Edgar Allan Poe.
How would you describe your sound?
Heavy Party Punk. Our riffs are intended for head bangin’ and booty shakin’…
What’s in the future for this band?
More shows and an LP, what else do u need?

Band name:
THE DEACONS
Date & location formed:
We formed in 2015 in Kansas City, MO.
The Deacons (photo by Will Mecca)
Reason for forming:
Davey and Me have been playing in punk bands together for a few years and since we we’re best friends and real rockers we wanted to do something that shows our love for primal dirty filthy rock n’ roll. Real 70’s shit. He wanted to play guitar and I wanted to sing.
What are your lyrics about?
Rock N’ Roll Lifestyle.
How would you describe your sound?
Real Rockers.
What’s in the future for this band?
We’re currently relocating to the West Coast. We plan on getting some new Deacons and playing a lot of shows out there.
Reason for forming:
Previous bands breaking up (Perspex Flesh/Mob Rules)/pathological need to regularly carry heavy equipment from one room to another.
What are your lyrics about?
Ailing bodies, boredom, work etc.
How would you describe your sound?
Music to appeal to people who don’t hate SSD’s How We Rock or who still like BORN AGAINST as much as they used to.
What’s in the future for this band?
More shows and records.
Date & location formed:
Las Vegas, Early Spring 2015.
Reason for forming:
I think we were all hanging out one day and talking about the bands they were all in. I always wanted to do vocals for a band and we all just said fuck it, we wanted to do something together.
What are your lyrics about?
Most of my lyrics are about my experience as a female bodied person and growing up surrounded by addiction. I get as real and vulnerable as I can because people have such an aversion to being vulnerable and emotional. For me, I’m still affected by the addiction I grew up around and its the reason I’m straight edge. I have a real difficult time with the way we play into socialized ideas of gender and the way we’re treated because of those ideas. So I talk a lot about issues like sexual assault and abuse, consent, menstruation and substance abuse.
How would you describe your sound?
Punk/Riot Grrl that gets mean.
What’s in the future for this band?
We are currently changing some things and writing new stuff. We want to release our new stuff in the next couple months…maybe on vinyl.
Date & location formed:
Pittsburgh, PA in May 2015.
Chiller (photo by Suzi Anderson)
Reason for forming:
I don’t like this question.
What are your lyrics about?
Lack of accountability, cultish behavior, spiritual liberation and escaping the self, suicide and its effect on families, the inability of the punk scene to rally around abused women, rebuilding oneself, the inevitable disappointment in a hero.
How would you describe your sound?
United States hardcore/punk beholden to no one.
What’s in the future for this band?
Demo cassette was released on 8/20/16 at Skullfest. Touring East/South in fall/winter 2016/2017.
Reason for forming:
Sam (drums), Angie (vocals), and I (Emily, bass) were driving to our friend Sophie’s house for a party she was having in celebration of Hip Hop Chicken. While in the car, we found ourselves passionately engaged in a sing-along to Bush’s “Swallowed.” We immediately decided to start a band named after the song title. We asked David to play guitar and when we all got together for our first couple practices, Swallowed did not happen. However, Post Pink did and we think it’s for the best.
What are your lyrics about?
The lyrics range from socio-political commentaries, literary references and adaptations, past romances, to nonsense. Our songwriting process isn’t one that has a central focus or theme. we make it a point to leave them open to the listener’s interpretation. Music is personal and people are free to take whatever they’d like from it.
How would you describe your sound?
Minimal and manic. Urgent and unusual. Silly yet sincere. 21st century punk music for short attention spans.
What’s in the future for this band?
Getting signed to Atlantic Records and a Coors Light endorsement. No, but seriously we’re hoping to have a new record written this winter with a tour to follow.
Date & location formed:
Blake started practicing the songs on the first demo with an old drummer in March of 2015 in Chicago. Since then he’s the only original member of the band.
Reason for forming:
We want more synthesizers in hardcore.
What are your lyrics about?
Bugs. People. People Bugs. Doubting reality and the existence of those around you.
How would you describe your sound?
Non-guitar rock music, synth-rock, proto new wave. We sound exactly like the screamers because we have a synthesizer.
What’s in the future for this band?
We just sent off mastered songs to Not Normal records for our debut 7″. No Friends fanzine is releasing our high-octane live tape “Live in not so New York City (Buffalo)”. We just got a new synth player and we are writing an EP and an LP. Eventually we will only release recordings of malfunctioning lawn mowers and power tools, so stay tuned. More touring in the future, maybe west coast?
