The Edge

David Howell Evans (born 8 August 1961), better known by his stage name The Edge (or just Edge), is a British-born Irish musician and songwriter best known as the lead guitarist, keyboardist and backing vocalist of the rock band U2. A member of the group since its inception, he has recorded 13 studio albums with the band as well as one solo record. As a guitarist, the Edge has crafted a minimalistic and textural style of playing. His use of a rhythmic delay effect yields a distinctive ambient, chiming sound that has become a signature of U2's music.

The Edge was born in England to a Welsh family, and was raised in Ireland after the Evans family relocated there while he was still an infant. In 1976 at Mount Temple Comprehensive School he formed U2 with his fellow students and his older brother Dik. Inspired by the ethos of punk rock and its basic arrangements, the group began to write its own material. They eventually became one of the most popular acts in popular music, with successful albums such as 1987's The Joshua Tree and 1991's Achtung Baby. Over the years, the Edge has experimented with various guitar effects and introduced influences from several genres of music into his own style, including American roots music, industrial music, and alternative rock. With U2, the Edge has also played keyboards, co-produced their 1993 record Zooropa, and occasionally contributed lyrics. The Edge met his second and current wife, Morleigh Steinberg, through her collaborations with the band.

Alien Workshop

Alien Workshop (AWS) is an American skateboarding company that was founded in 1990 by Chris Carter, Mike Hill, and Neil Blender. Following periods under the ownership of the Burton snowboard company and original team rider Rob Dyrdek, the company was acquired by Pacific Vector Holdings in October 2013. Alien Workshop produced skateboard decks, wheels, apparel, and other skateboard accessories, prior to its closure in May 2014. In 2015 Alien Workshop was revived with an all amateur team and distribution through Tum Yeto. They released a series of new skate decks and Bunker Down, their 6th video. Alien Workshop is still run by Mike Hill out of the Mound Laboratories in Miamisburg, Ohio.

History

1990–1999: Formation, Memory Screen, Timecode

Carter, Hill and Blender decided to form a company based in Dayton, Ohio, United States (U.S.), at a time when the skateboard industry's core was located in California. Early team rider Duane Pitre recalls attending a meeting in California and feeling excited about the concept of an innovative Midwestern company, which initially adapted the logo of the eatery that the Californian meeting occurred in. The nascent company's first video was titled Memory Screen (1991), and featured a team that consisted of Dyrdek, Pitre, Bo Turner, John Pryor, Scott Conklin, Steve Clear and Thomas Morgan.

Fred Rogers

Fred McFeely Rogers (March 20, 1928 – February 27, 2003) was an American television personality, puppeteer, educator, Presbyterian minister, composer, songwriter, author, and activist. Rogers was most famous for creating, hosting, and composing the theme music for the educational preschool television series Mister Rogers' Neighborhood (1968–2001), which featured his gentle, soft-spoken personality and directness to his audiences.

Initially educated to be a minister, Rogers was displeased with the way television addressed children and made an effort to change this when he began to write for and perform on local Pittsburgh-area shows dedicated to youth. WQED developed his own show in 1968 and it was distributed nationwide by Eastern Educational Television Network. Over the course of three decades on television, Fred Rogers became an icon of American children's entertainment and education. He was also known for his advocacy of various public causes. His testimony before a lower court in favor of fair use recording of television shows to play at another time (now known as time shifting) was cited in a U.S. Supreme Court decision on the Betamax case, and he gave now-famous testimony to a U.S. Senate committee, advocating government funding for children's television.

Big Girls Cry

"Big Girls Cry" is a single by Australian singer-songwriter Sia from her sixth studio album 1000 Forms of Fear (2014). The single was not released internationally; it was only released in Australia and some parts of Europe. It charted in Belgium and hit the top 40 in Australia and France.

Electronic duo Odesza released a "choppy, chillwave" remix of "Big Girls Cry" on 5 December 2014. On 15 October 2014, Sia performed "Big Girls Cry" at The Recording Academy. On 2 April 2015, "Big Girls Cry" was released as the third single in the United Kingdom. Sia performed "Big Girls Cry" live on Australian television show, Sunrise on 21 April 2015.

Music video

On 2 April 2015, a video for the song was released on Sia's Vevo YouTube channel. The video features Maddie Ziegler in her trademark flesh-coloured leotard and blonde Sia bob facing the camera, in front of a black background, contorting her face and using her hands to express a slew of emotions. At one point a pair of hands come into the frame (shown in behind-the-scenes footage to be Sia's own hands) manipulating Ziegler's face and covering her mouth, they appear to lift Ziegler by the throat into the air until only her kicking feet are shown, then Ziegler drops back into the frame to resume her emotive facial contortions.

New Jack City II

New Jack City II is the sixth studio album by American rapper Bow Wow. It was released on March 31, 2009, by LBW Entertainment and Columbia Records. This is Bow Wow's first album to be released on his new label LBW Entertainment, and his first album to be receiving a parental advisory label for Adult Language. The album features guest appearances from Swizz Beatz, Jermaine Dupri, Nelly, Trey Songz, T-Pain, Ron Browz, Dondria and T.I..

There are 3 versions for this album released, which is a standard, a limited edition (including a Bonus DVD) and a Walmart version (which is only a clean edition, with three bonus tracks).

Singles

The lead single for his sixth album, "You Can Get It All", which features guest vocals from Johntá Austin, while it produced by Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox, was released. This track contains a sample of TLC's hit "Baby, Baby, Baby".

Promotional singles

The album's promotional single, "Marco Polo", which features guest vocals by Soulja Boy Tell 'Em (who also latter produced the song), was released accompanying by a music video. The music video was shot and filmed at the Aquatic Park, outside of an Atlanta Suburb (known as Sun Valley Beach), in Paulding Co. GA. The music video premiered on the Soulja Boy Tell 'Em's YouTube page and was premiered viaFNMTV on July 25, 2008.
