Platform Artists Group Inc. was established in 1990 as a not-for-profit public art organisation dedicated to delivering a program of contemporary art in Melbourne's CBD. The original Platform site was located at the former Spencer Street Station (now Southern Cross Station) with an additional exhibiting site added at Campbell Arcade, Flinders Street Station in 1994. In 2016 Platform will program the billboard on the exterior of the Hero Building, 118 Russell Street, Melbourne.
Platform now stands as Melbourne's longest running Artist-Run Initiative and on-going public art project. As Platform Contemporary Art, the organisation continues to operate a project-based program at various locations within the CBD.
