Home sellers in NSW may need to provide more disclosures to buyers under new conveyancing regulations due in September 2017.
The NSW Department of Finance, Services & Innovation has suggested a raft of potential disclosures in a new discussion paper available at www.lpi.nsw.gov.au.
New disclosures could include a pest and building report, a strata report for apartment sales, a disclosure on loose-fill asbestos, and council orders on demolition or adequate fire safety.
For off-the-plan sales, the government is considering whether the developer should warrant the level of levies and disclose the strata plan by-laws, as well as proposing a longer cooling-off period.
NSW Registrar General Jeremy Cox said buying a home can be a "confusing process".
Submissions are due by September 30.
