VOTE: Go for 2 with the game on the line?

Jack Del Rio had the Raiders do it, and it worked. But it's happened before with less success. Would you try a two-point conversion with the game on the line? Vote!

Jimmy Garoppolo was presented a game ball in the locker room after his first career NFL victory. One teammate described the scene as "pure joy."

Cardinals DT Frostee Rucker walked out of the locker room with a brace on his left knee. He left the game in the third quarter and then gingerly walked to the locker room.

The Patriots are always prepared to play regardless of the depth chart. That's a credit to Bill Belichick, the coaching staff and the players. Game planning and practice habits. Building a winning culture doesn't happen by accident.

Mike Reiss ESPN Staff Writer

Jimmy Garoppolo delivered an impressive performance in his first career regular-season start, leading the Patriots to a 23-21 victory that included some clutch throws in the fourth quarter on the drive that put New England ahead. While it took a missed 47-yard field goal by Chandler Catanzaro with less than a minute to play to seal the result, Garoppolo's solid performance was going to be a top storyline regardless. He finished 24 of 33 for 264 yards, with one touchdown and no interceptions.

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

Jimmy Garoppolo played solid football tonight. Gets the ball out quick, showed good movement in the pocket and made smart decisions. He can run this system. And produce.

Dave Tuley ESPN Staff Writer

Patriots beat Cardinals 23-21 on Sunday Night Football. The ViewFromVegas is they did it as 9-point underdogs & +330 on the money line as the line steamed from Arizona -6 to -9 today. Chandler Catanzaro missed a potential game-winning field goal for the Cardinals that also would have put the game over the betting total of 44.5.

Of the four games for which Tom Brady is suspended, this was the one, on paper, they appeared most likely to lose. The remaining three are at home, two against teams that didn't make last year's playoffs. As big wins go, this win was fairly big.

Kevin Seifert NFL Nation

Count me among those who thought the Patriots didn't have a chance to win this game. Which is just how they like it. They are 1-0 in their Tom Brady-less era.

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

Low snap and a busted kick...Cardinals had that FG attempt set-up after the 3rd down pass. Backside dig route. Tough loss.

Kevin Seifert NFL Nation

After watching some questionable clock management earlier today, it's worth reminding the Cardinals to bleed as much time off the clock as they can as they move closer to a potential game-winning field goal. Of course, knowing Cardinals coach Bruce Arians, they'll be going for a touchdown.

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

More targets for Larry Fitzgerald on three-level routes. Clear out the top of the secondary on the outside and create space for Fitzgerald to work. The veteran is taking this game over.

Paul Kuharsky ESPN Staff Writer

Shaun Hill completed 10 passes thrown 10 or more yards downfield. Teddy Bridgewater didn't have that many in a game his rookie year. Sam Bradford has done it once in his career. (ESPN Stats & Info.)

Paul Kuharsky ESPN Staff Writer

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson's gained 9 yards after contact on 19 carries against the Titans. The 0.5-yard average was his lowest since ESPN Stats & Info began tracking the stat in 2009.

Mike Reiss ESPN Staff Writer

With Danny Amendola hauling in a 33-yard reception from Jimmy Garoppolo on third-and-15 from the Patriots' 20 midway through the fourth quarter, it is timely to note Amendola's limited workload as he is playing for the first time after spending all of training camp on the PUP list. The catch, his first of the game, came on his 12th snap played.

Josh Weinfuss ESPN Staff Writer

Cardinals OLB Chandler Jones spins past Patriots OL Marcus Cannon to get his first sack with the Cardinals, and it came against QB Jimmy Garoppolo and his former team.

Josh Weinfuss ESPN Staff Writer

Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald caught his 100th career touchdown in dramatic fashion: a 1-yard diving catch on a fade from QB Carson Palmer. The catch gave the Cardinals a 21-20 lead and tied Fitzgerald for 8th on the all-time TD catches list.

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

Logan Ryan had good coverage on Larry Fitzgerald in the red zone...Great throw, great catch. Not much else you can do there as a DB. Tip your cap. That's a heck of a play by a veteran WR.

Kevin Seifert NFL Nation

Larry Fitzgerald rarely leaves a question about whether a catch was in fact a catch. Hall of Fame concentration level on on that play in the end zone. Never a doubt about his 100th career touchdown reception.

Josh Weinfuss ESPN Staff Writer

Side cut. Spinning out of tackles at the line of scrimmage. Two stiff arms. That was the procession of Cardinals RB David Johnson's 45-yard run to set the Cardinals up in the red zone with the lead within reach.

Josh Weinfuss ESPN Staff Writer

The Cardinals used David Johnson as a wide receiver and Andre Ellington on that first-and-10 play, showing the versatility of the Cardinals' backfield and the potential for the offense if it can get going.
