O Tolis Fasois, η φωνή των Sharp Ties και για πολλούς ένας από τους καλύτερους ροκ performer της χώρας, επανέρχεται με τον δεύτερο προσωπικό δίσκο του, “Happy To Be Here”. Το πρώτο δείγμα της καινούριας δουλειάς του είναι το single “Mr. Smith” , με ένα πρωτότυπο video clip , γυρισμένο στο Μουσείο Γουλανδρή Φυσικής Ιστορίας. Το “Happy to Be Here” θα κυκλοφορήσει το φθινόπωρο του 2015 από την Feeelgood Records.
Δημιουργοί του δίσκου είναι ο Tolis Fasois και ο παραγωγός Χρυσόστομος Μουράτογλου.

Η παρουσία του Τόλη Φασόη στα μουσικά δρώμενα ξεκινά στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του ’80, στην ιδιόμορφη new wave - punk σκηνή του Cape Town της Νότιας Αφρικής. Γίνεται frontman των “Fred Smith’ και ‘Introverts”, συγκροτημάτων που ήταν ενάντια στο Αpartheid.
Την δεκαετία του ’80, εγκατεστημένος πλέον στην Ελλάδα, γίνεται frontman του αγγλόφωνου συγκροτήματος Sharp Ties. Το πρώτο τους album, με τίτλο “Get That Beat” γίνεται χρυσό μέσα σε έναν μόλις χρόνο από την κυκλοφορία του, ενώ το ομώνυμο single γνωρίζει μεγάλη επιτυχία και στο εξωτερικό. Ο δεύτερος δίσκος τους «Safari Boys» αποτελεί μια ακόμη μουσική, αν και όχι μεγάλη εμπορική, επιτυχία για τους ‘Sharp Ties’. Στο τρίτο album τους οι Sharp Ties υιοθετούν ένα περισσότερο εμπορικό ήχο. Ο Φασόης διαφωνεί και αφήνει το γκρούπ γνωρίζοντας ότι η indie rock σκηνή είναι πιο αντιπροσωπευτική της δουλειάς του.
Κατά τη δεκαετία του 90 συνεχίζει τη μουσική του δράση ως παραγωγός και συνθέτης, ενώ αποφεύγει τις live εμφανίσεις.
Το 2003 συνεργάζεται με τους Πυξ-Λαξ γράφοντας τους αγγλικούς στίχους αγαπημένων κομματιών για το project «Χαρούμενοι στην Πόλη των Τρελών», όπου και τα ερμηνεύουν οι Eric Burdon, Marc Almond, Gordon Gano και Steve Wynn.
Ο Φασόης, που για πολλούς από πολλούς θεωρείται ένας από τους καλύτερους performer της ελληνικής μουσικής σκηνής, αποφασίζει να αφήσει την παραγωγή και να επιστρέψει στην δημιουργία νέων κομματιών αλλά και στις live εμφανίσεις. Με καινούριους μουσικούς, ηχογραφεί τον πρώτο του προσωπικό δίσκο «Just For A Day» που κυκλοφορεί το 2010, λαμβάνοντας πολύ θετικές κριτικές.
Το 2012 ξεκινά να δουλεύει πάνω στον δεύτερο προσωπικό του δίσκο με τίτλο ‘Happy To Be Here’, ο οποίος αναμένεται να κυκλοφορήσει τον Οκτώβρη του 2015 από την Feelgood Records.

The Matrix
The Matrix is a 1999 American–Australian neo-noir science fiction action film written and directed by The Wachowski Brothers, starring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, Hugo Weaving, and Joe Pantoliano. It depicts a dystopian future in which reality as perceived by most humans is actually a simulated reality called "the Matrix", created by sentient machines to subdue the human population, while their bodies' heat and electrical activity are used as an energy source. Computer programmer "Neo" learns this truth and is drawn into a rebellion against the machines, which involves other people who have been freed from the "dream world".
The Matrix is known for popularizing a visual effect known as "bullet time", in which the heightened perception of certain characters is represented by allowing the action within a shot to progress in slow-motion while the camera's viewpoint appears to move through the scene at normal speed. The film is an example of the cyberpunk science fiction genre. It contains numerous references to philosophical and religious ideas, and prominently pays homage to works such as Plato's Allegory of the Cave,Jean Baudrillard's Simulacra and Simulation and Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Η παρουσία του Τόλη Φασόη στα μουσικά δρώμενα ξεκινά στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του ’80, στην ιδιόμορφη new wave - punk σκηνή του Cape Town της Νότιας Αφρικής. Γίνεται frontman των “Fred Smith’ και ‘Introverts”, συγκροτημάτων που ήταν ενάντια στο Αpartheid.
Την δεκαετία του ’80, εγκατεστημένος πλέον στην Ελλάδα, γίνεται frontman του αγγλόφωνου συγκροτήματος Sharp Ties. Το πρώτο τους album, με τίτλο “Get That Beat” γίνεται χρυσό μέσα σε έναν μόλις χρόνο από την κυκλοφορία του, ενώ το ομώνυμο single γνωρίζει μεγάλη επιτυχία και στο εξωτερικό. Ο δεύτερος δίσκος τους «Safari Boys» αποτελεί μια ακόμη μουσική, αν και όχι μεγάλη εμπορική, επιτυχία για τους ‘Sharp Ties’. Στο τρίτο album τους οι Sharp Ties υιοθετούν ένα περισσότερο εμπορικό ήχο. Ο Φασόης διαφωνεί και αφήνει το γκρούπ γνωρίζοντας ότι η indie rock σκηνή είναι πιο αντιπροσωπευτική της δουλειάς του.
Κατά τη δεκαετία του 90 συνεχίζει τη μουσική του δράση ως παραγωγός και συνθέτης, ενώ αποφεύγει τις live εμφανίσεις.
Το 2003 συνεργάζεται με τους Πυξ-Λαξ γράφοντας τους αγγλικούς στίχους αγαπημένων κομματιών για το project «Χαρούμενοι στην Πόλη των Τρελών», όπου και τα ερμηνεύουν οι Eric Burdon, Marc Almond, Gordon Gano και Steve Wynn.
Ο Φασόης, που για πολλούς από πολλούς θεωρείται ένας από τους καλύτερους performer της ελληνικής μουσικής σκηνής, αποφασίζει να αφήσει την παραγωγή και να επιστρέψει στην δημιουργία νέων κομματιών αλλά και στις live εμφανίσεις. Με καινούριους μουσικούς, ηχογραφεί τον πρώτο του προσωπικό δίσκο «Just For A Day» που κυκλοφορεί το 2010, λαμβάνοντας πολύ θετικές κριτικές.
Το 2012 ξεκινά να δουλεύει πάνω στον δεύτερο προσωπικό του δίσκο με τίτλο ‘Happy To Be Here’, ο οποίος αναμένεται να κυκλοφορήσει τον Οκτώβρη του 2015 από την Feelgood Records.

Ο δεύτερος δίσκος τους «Safari Boys» αποτελεί μια ακόμη μουσική, αν και όχι μεγάλη εμπορική, επιτυχία για τους ‘Sharp Ties’. Στο τρίτο album τους οι Sharp Ties υιοθετούν ένα περισσότερο εμπορικό ήχο. Ο Φασόης διαφωνεί και αφήνει το γκρούπ γνωρίζοντας ότι η indie rock σκηνή είναι πιο αντιπροσωπευτική της δουλειάς του.
Κατά τη δεκαετία του 90 συνεχίζει τη μουσική του δράση ως παραγωγός και συνθέτης, ενώ αποφεύγει τις live εμφανίσεις.
Το 2003 συνεργάζεται με τους Πυξ-Λαξ γράφοντας τους αγγλικούς στίχους αγαπημένων κομματιών για το project «Χαρούμενοι στην Πόλη των Τρελών», όπου και τα ερμηνεύουν οι Eric Burdon, Marc Almond, Gordon Gano και Steve Wynn.
Ο Φασόης, που για πολλούς από πολλούς θεωρείται ένας από τους καλύτερους performer της ελληνικής μουσικής σκηνής, αποφασίζει να αφήσει την παραγωγή και να επιστρέψει στην δημιουργία νέων κομματιών αλλά και στις live εμφανίσεις. Με καινούριους μουσικούς, ηχογραφεί τον πρώτο του προσωπικό δίσκο «Just For A Day» που κυκλοφορεί το 2010, λαμβάνοντας πολύ θετικές κριτικές.
Το 2012 ξεκινά να δουλεύει πάνω στον δεύτερο προσωπικό του δίσκο με τίτλο ‘Happy To Be Here’, ο οποίος αναμένεται να κυκλοφορήσει τον Οκτώβρη του 2015 από την Feelgood Records.

Now an urban policy professor, Smith’s blend of academic training, real-world political acumen, and insights from a year on the inside of prison help him offer practical solutions to the nation’s prison problem and to jumpstart the rehabilitation of the millions behind bars.
About the speaker: Jeff Smith is Assistant Professor of Politics and Advocacy at Milano. Jeff, who has also taught at Washington University and Dartmouth College, teaches and researches political campaigns, urban political economy, policy advocacy, and the legislative process. At Washington University, he received the Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence.
Jeff served in the Missouri Senate from 2006-2009, representing St. Louis City, where he co-founded a group of charter schools called the Confluence Academies. He has written two books as well an an e-book: “Trading Places,” his Ph.D. thesis on U.S. partisan realignment from 1975-2004, “Mr. Smith Goes to Prison” (St. Martin's, 2015), a narrative nonfiction account of his time in prison, and “Ferguson in Black and White,” an historical analysis of the roots of Ferguson, Missouri's unrest. His original research and book reviews have been published in various political science journals, including Political Research Quarterly, Political Science Quarterly, and The Forum.
Jeff frequently appears on MSNBC and has been profiled by NPR’s This American Life, Harper’s, The New Republic, and other periodicals. He addresses audiences of public officials on ethics in politics, and his TED talk on prison entrepreneurship has been viewed over a million times. His op-eds have been published by The New York Times, The New Republic, CNN.com, The Atlantic, Inc., National Journal, Salon, Politico Magazine, New York Magazine, Buzzfeed, and the Chicago Tribune. Following a brief reading from the book, author Touré will moderate a discussion about criminal justice reform with Professor Jeff Smith, Soffiyah Elijah (Executive Director of Correctional Association of New York), Dr. Carla Shedd (Columbia University sociologist), and Melissa Mark Viverito (New York City Council Speaker).

The fall from politico to prisoner isn't necessarily long, Smith—a former Missouri State Senator—learned, but the landing is a hard one.
In 2009, Smith pleaded guilty to charges related to seemingly minor campaign malfeasance and earned himself a year and a day in Kentucky's FCI Manchester. Mr. Smith Goes to Prison is the story of his time in the big house—of the people he met there and the things he learned: how to escape the attentions of fellow prisoner Big C and his pals in the Aryan Brotherhood; what constitutes a prison car and who's allowed to ride in yours; how to bend and break the rules, whether you're a prisoner or correctional officer. And throughout his sentence, the young Senator tracked the greatest crime of all: the deliberate waste of untapped human potential.
Smith saw the power of millions of inmates harnessed as a source of renewable energy for America's prison-industrial complex, a system that exploits racial tension and bias, building better criminals instead of better citizens. In Mr. Smith Goes to Prison, he traces the cracks in America's prison walls, exposing the shortcomings of a race-based cycle of poverty and crime that sets inmates up to fail. Now an urban policy professor, Smith’s blend of academic training, real-world political acumen, and insights from a sometimes harrowing year on the inside help him offer practical solutions to jailbreak the nation from the crushing grip of its own prisons, and to jumpstart the rehabilitation of the millions behind bars.
