Home (Blue October album)

Home is the forthcoming eighth studio album by Blue October. The album was recorded between August and November 2015 at Orb Studios in Austin, Texas and Justin Furstenfeld's home studio Crazy Making Studio. Long time collaborator Tim Palmer co-produced and mixed the album. The anticipated release date is April 22, 2016 through Blue October's label Up/Down Records. The first single, the title track "Home" made its radio debut December 16, 2015.

Shake It Up: Break It Down

Shake It Up: Break It Down (known as Shake It Up: Dance Dance in European countries ) is the debut soundtrack from the first season (2010-2011) of Disney Channel hit original series, Shake It Up. It was released on July 12, 2011 as a 2 Disc CD + DVD combo, with the DVD showing the dance steps. It has peaked at number 22 on the US Billboard 200 and topped the US Billboard Top Soundtracks and the US Billboard Kid Albums. Elsewhere, it has peaked at number 65 in Mexico.

Promotional singles

"Shake It Up" by Selena Gomez was released as first promotional single and peaked at number 9 on the U.S. Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart and is also serves as the series theme song. "Watch Me" by Bella Thorne and Zendaya, was released as second promotional single and peaked at number 86 on U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

Critical reception

Andrew Leahey of Allmusic gave a review: Released toward the end of Shake It Up's first season, this soundtrack features 14 songs from the hit Disney series, as well as a bonus DVD of step-by-step dance routines. Selena Gomez sings the title song, while actresses Bella Thorne and Zendaya perform the album's second single, "Watch Me".

Shake It Up (TV series)

Shake It Up (sometimes stylized as Shake It Up!) is an American sitcom that originally aired on Disney Channel in the United States from November 7, 2010 to November 10, 2013. Created by Chris Thompson and starring Bella Thorne and Zendaya, the show follows the adventures of CeCe Jones (Bella Thorne) and Rocky Blue (Zendaya) as they star as background dancers on a local show, Shake It Up Chicago. It also chronicles their misadventures on and off-set and their troubles and rising social status at school. Davis Cleveland, Roshon Fegan, Adam Irigoyen, Kenton Duty, and Caroline Sunshine also are other main cast members in the series.

The show's original concept was for Disney to create a female buddy comedy with a dance aspect.

On September 29, 2011, Disney Channel announced it had increased Shake It Up's second season order to 26 episodes. A 90-minute special episode Made In Japan aired August 17, 2012 as the season two finale. On June 4, 2012, Disney Channel announced that Shake It Up was renewed for a third season and announced that Kenton Duty will not be a regular cast member for season 3, but will make special guest appearances; despite this, he did not appear in a single episode.

Let's Dance (David Bowie album)

Let's Dance is a 1983 album by David Bowie. Co-produced by Chic's Nile Rodgers, the album contained three of his most successful singles; the title track, "Let's Dance", reached No. 1 in the UK, US and various other countries, "Modern Love" and "China Girl" both reached No. 2 in the UK. "China Girl" was a new version of a song which Bowie had co-written with Iggy Pop for the latter's 1977 album The Idiot. The album also contains a re-recorded version of the song "Cat People (Putting Out Fire)" which had been a minor hit for Bowie a year earlier. Let's Dance was a stepping stone for the career of the Texas blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan, who played on it. The album was released as a limited edition picture disc in 1983. Let's Dance has sold 10.7 million copies worldwide, making it Bowie's best-selling album.Let's Dance is Bowie's 18th official album release since his debut in 1967, including two live albums, one covers album (Pin Ups, 1973), and a collaboration with the Philadelphia Orchestra (1977).

"Dance (With U)" is the second single from British R&B singer Lemar and his first for Sony Music after coming third place in the BBC show Fame Academy.

The single became a huge hit in the UK, peaking at #2 in the UK singles chart in 2003.

Waterloo (album)

Waterloo is the second studio album by the Swedish pop group ABBA, and the first released internationally. It was originally released in Sweden on 4 March 1974 through Polar Music. The album's title track won ABBA the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest and became a worldwide smash-hit, launching the group's career.

Overview

Recording sessions for Waterloo began on 24 September 1973 with the track "Dance (While the Music Still Goes On)". This song was unusual in that it is the only ABBA track not to feature member Benny Andersson on keyboards, but instead featured American pianist John Rabbit Bundrick who was in Sweden at the time. Bundrick, however, was not credited on the album. Three weeks later the next two songs ("Suzy-Hang-Around" and "My Mama Said") went into the studio. A recording sheet from the day credits the artist as "ABBA", the first time the name was ever used, the group until now being called "Björn & Benny, Agnetha & Anni-Frid". The former of these songs marks the only time Benny Andersson sang lead on a track. 17 October saw the recording of two more tracks; "What About Livingstone" and "Honey Honey" - the latter being the second single released from the album in most countries. "King Kong Song" was recorded on 14 November, a song which members Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus today single out as one of their weakest tracks. This was also the date in which it was announced that ABBA were to appear at the Swedish selection for the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest. From that point, recording sessions speeded up and the rest of the tracks were recorded. Two songs were up for consideration for their Eurovision entry; "Waterloo" and "Hasta Mañana". The group preferred the former but felt the latter was a more safe bet. Ultimately they chose "Waterloo" as it was more the direction they wished to take the group. "Waterloo" and "Watch Out" were recorded on the same day - the songs that made up the lead single and its B-side.

Dance party

A dance party (also referred to as a dance) is a social gathering where dancing is the primary activity. Some dance parties are held in a casual setting and open to the public, such as a rave, or those held in nightclubs and discothèques.

Other types of dance parties may be a formal or semi-formal private event which often require guests to don formal wear and have an invitation or membership within the community hosting the event, such as school dances and cotillions.

Guests of formal dances often attend in pairs, as consorts or "dates" for one another. The term "stag" refers to going without a consort to a dance organized for couples. Dances commonly take place during the evening, although some are held earlier during the daytime; such events are known as tea dances.

Casual dances

Casual dances are dances that do not have a formal dress requirement; these may include school and community events, raves, evening entertainments provided for guests aboard a cruise ship, and events organized for certain holidays, such as Halloween and Mardis Gras.
