Post Classic Two Stroke Suzuki T20 Methracer lap of Mac Park Mt GambierSA.wmv
One lap of Mac Park Mt Gambier S Aust in the Senior Riders Roadrace on the weekend of 11-13 May 2012.Ever changing weather conditions saw Mike Retallick take the T20(no15) to 3rd overall in the 250 class even after a high speed spill on his 600 Yamaha in Fridays practice-ouch! With this being Mikes first ride on the T20 and probably a 2 stroke I doubled the oil/fuel mix and went up .05 in main jet--next time we get serious. After a promising shakedown Dyno with Clyde Wolverden from C&C; Motorcycle Engineering the T20 performed with confidence all weekend. With a 520 chain/sprocket conversion/selection from Jay@moto-chains.com it pulled 10-10500RPM down the main straight-approx 180kph- Sadly the race in the wet videod with bike cam was most entertaining but the SD Micro card is now refusing to give it up. As usual the Mount Gambier Motor Cycle &Light; Car Club`s volunteers/Flag Marshals-put on a great weekend with the minimum of fuss and with fellow riders willing to lend you the one thing you forgot to bring like my Bruce Kinnersley bike starter-thanks for lending me yours Bruce, frustration was kept to a minimum-with a little luck that wee trophy will grow bigger next year. This has been a slow restoration project and it`s last serious outing was in 1988 Bathurst Mt Panorama ridden by Jeff Rowe ---from memory which is fading he dominated his class until last race holed a piston-bugger. almost forgot thanks Scotty Seabrooke for the Tacho drive-lost mine somewhere. and last ...

Stripping my Suzuki t20 (2) - The gearbox fault
If you have seen my earlier video where I strip my bike down, I refer a few times to the 'horrible noise' from the gearbox that caused me to strip it. Here I show you the problem I found... a common one on these bikes.

Classic Scrambler from Suzuki based on the Hustler. Entry # 9 Owner: David Howell 1965 1966 1967 1968 Suzuki T20 T 20 Super Six Super 6 2 stroke two stroke For more information: www.suzukicycles.org www.motorcycleclassics.com When Suzuki first hit the US market in 1963, it was just another link in a growing chain of new — and often forgettable — companies from the Land of the Rising Sun. Three years later we got the Suzuki X6 Hustler, and Suzuki got remembered. Today, it's one of the most popular classic Japanese motorcycles. Suzuki chose three models to headline its 1963 US lineup; the S31, powered by a 124cc 2-stroke twin, and the S250 Colleda (a transcription of "Kore-da" or "that one") and TC250 El Camino, both powered by a 248cc 2-stroke twin. Like Honda and other Japanese motorcycle manufacturers, Suzuki hoped to cash in on US riders seeking a smaller, simpler machine than the booming twins coming from Milwaukee or Great Britain at the time. 1964 saw those models phased out in favor of a new trio consisting of a 50cc single, an 80cc single and a new 246cc twin, the T10. More new models were announced in 1965, including the highly anticipated Suzuki X6 Hustler, although it would be 1966 before the new model finally hit US showrooms (from Motorcycle Classics magazine). Post Classic Two Stroke T20 Suzuki Mac Park Mt Gambier May10-2012.wmv
Original 67/68 T20 250 cc Suzuki bought as a trade-in in Adelaide S Aust around 68/69 used as a road bike and then began race conversion in 1970-to a US spec Still has original crank/ barrels/gearbox/clutch/oil pump/frame/swingarm etc-all modifications carried out by myself over the years. Was race ready about 74/75 had its first race in NSW Amaroo Park 85/86 ridden by Jeff Rowe who also won a NSW Post Classic title on it-last appearance was `88 at Bathurst-then mothballed for a few years -then about 10 years ago began a slow restoration project engine/frame/rear sets/gear shift and rectified all those little things that were rushed or didnt fit 100%-complete strip/paint/rewire/rebush/reseal-was not happy with the Original Alloy tank I made and ordered one from Peter Keyte UK just beautiful. It runs Methanol and uses a Krober ignition donated by Hans Peter Herman who I met in NZ during 86Trans Tasman Series-he financed his OS racing by selling Vintage cars-he said he had one for a TZ 250 and did I want it-yes please as you do and forgot about it-till 2months later in the mail a Krober ign complete-still going strong-thanks Hans. Speaking of Krober- the parts and info supplier Ian Munro QLD suggested a cover for the stator coil plate because of its vulnerability and expense-I thought OGGY KNOB-had a chat with Damien from Raceway Suzuki Niddrie almost next door and he donated a slightly used unit complete with bolt-fitted easily looks great.
