Still, there remains a level of wonder and fascination that exists with what else is out there in the universe, not to mention a sheer curiosity over the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of wild creatures venturing outside of their habitat to wander into a decidedly unfamiliar environment. And after all, there are just enough instances of weird and surprising happenings in the world to keep people mindful of expecting the unexpected.
In these 10 cases, the unexpected came in a way that was all too real for those who had the misfortune of encountering it. After all, it wasn’t like they were asking for such an experience. Some of the families on this list had been long-time residents of their house when an unwelcome visitor suddenly opted to pop in for a visit one day. As Detroit resident Ann Duke learned when she had the misfortune of finding a predatory hawk in her home, 9-1-1 won’t want anything to do with the problem, Animal Control won’t deal with any animal that is unable to walk and pest removal companies will be quick to pass any non-critters off on just anyone else that they can. As if contending with a wild animal in your home isn’t enough of a burden, the task of getting rid of it can be another challenge in and of itself.

10. The Doppelganger
The german word translates to “double walker” usually what’s associated with them are unfortunate events. It’s said that doppelgangers are known to be harbingers of bad luck and that if someone were to ever meet their evil-twin like double that they would bring about the original person’s death.
9. The Unicorn
These fabled horses are believed to be the ultimate symbol of purity. The unicorn is described as a majestic looking creature, usually white, with its famous horn protruding from its forehead. This animal has also been a frequently recurring theme in many widely known pieces of literature and film, such as the Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter.
8. Lycans
More commonly referred to as “werewolves”, these creatures are said to be cursed humans that are slaves to the full moon and transform once a month. The “curse” is said to be passed from one person to another by the form of either a bite or scratch. Lycanthropy dates back to as early as the 15th century where individuals were persecuted as “wolf charmers”. These mythical creatures are believed to be nothing more than just myths as there is no recorded solid evidence to prove their existence.
7. Vampires
These creatures of the night can be traced all the way back to the 19th century and are somewhat involved in most cultures around the world but under different names. Vampires are amongst the most famous monsters that are believed to roam the Earth as people who have risen from the dead and are now, more or less, undead beings who search for the life force they need to feed on:blood. Many people have claimed to encounter one of these and others swear of their existence, though no tangible proof has been brought forward.
6. Mermaids
Mermaids and merfolk have been described as having the upper torso of a human and from the waist down the tail of a fish. Mermaids have been the thing of many childhood dreams ever since The Little Mermaid was released and have been around even longer. There have been many reported sightings throughout history, though none proven, that have managed to add fuel to the fire that these aquatic creatures exist.
5. Champ
This is probably the Loch Ness Monster’s lesser known cousin, Champ, who is said to live in the waters of Lake Champlain, located in New York. The first reported sighting of this sea creature was way back in 1609 by Samuel De Champlain. The following photograph was taken in the 1970s by a woman who appears to have captured what may or may not be Champ itself.
4. The Jersey Devil
The origin of this mythical beast is said to be the 13th child born from Mother Leeds, a woman who was supposedly a witch during the 1700s, and the Devil himself. There actually was a woman named Deborah Leeds who lived in the area that is now Atlantic County, New Jersey, and her husband had left a will that named 12 children. The Jersey Devil is said to look like a kangaroo with the head of a goat, a forked-tail, bat-like wings, and hooves that resemble the Devil’s. Historians believe this to be nothing more than a fabricated hoax, but who knows?
3. The Chupacabra
The legendary mythical creature whose name literally translates to “goat-sucker” was first reported in Puerto Rico some 21 years ago in 1995. Eight goats were discovered with the same cause of death, 3 puncture wounds to the neck where they had all been drained of blood. Similar reports would follow all throughout the Americas in the coming years and there have even been sightings, such as the following image, where people claimed to have seen the monster, however, the creature is still nothing more than a myth.
2. The Loch Ness Monster
Dubbed as “Nessie”, this famous cryptid is said to be living in the waters of Loch Ness that are located in the Scottish Highlands. The Loch Ness Monster is believed to actually be a plesiosaurs that has taken up residency in the area and there have been many local sightings, along with this famous picture, the surgeon’s photo, that was taken in 1934 but has since been proven as a hoax. Although, many people are still challenging that this is in fact real evidence of the creature.
1.Bigfoot
This creature is said to roam the forests and mountainsides of the Pacific Northwest. Described as having some human qualities, this animal is also said to look like some type of human-ape hybrid. Bigfoot has been around for several decades and is perhaps one of the most famous cryptids ever, but many scientists are skeptical that all these sightings are nothing more than hoaxes and misidentifications of black bears and men in bigfoot costumes.

The Doppelganger The german word translates to “double walker” usually what’s associated with them are unfortunate events. It’s said that doppelgangers are known to be harbingers of bad luck and that if someone were to ever meet their evil-twin like double that they would bring about the original person’s death. 9. The Unicorn These fabled horses are believed to be the ultimate symbol of purity. The unicorn is described as a majestic looking creature, usually white, with its famous horn protruding from its forehead. This animal has also been a frequently recurring theme in many widely known pieces of literature and film, such as the Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter. 8. Lycans More commonly referred to as “werewolves”, these creatures are said to be cursed humans that are slaves to the full moon and transform once a month. The “curse” is said to be passed from one person to another by the form of either a bite or scratch. Lycanthropy dates back to as early as the 15th century where individuals were persecuted as “wolf charmers”. These mythical creatures are believed to be nothing more than just myths as there is no recorded solid evidence to prove their existence. 7. Vampires These creatures of the night can be traced all the way back to the 19th century and are somewhat involved in most cultures around the world but under different names. Vampires are amongst the most famous monsters that are believed to roam the Earth as people who have risen from the dead and are now, more or less, undead beings who search for the life force they need to feed on:blood. Many people have claimed to encounter one of these and others swear of their existence, though no tangible proof has been brought forward. 6. Mermaids Mermaids and merfolk have been described as having the upper torso of a human and from the waist down the tail of a fish. Mermaids have been the thing of many childhood dreams ever since The Little Mermaid was released and have been around even longer. There have been many reported sightings throughout history, though none proven, that have managed to add fuel to the fire that these aquatic creatures exist. 5. Champ This is probably the Loch Ness Monster’s lesser known cousin, Champ, who is said to live in the waters of Lake Champlain, located in New York. The first reported sighting of this sea creature was way back in 1609 by Samuel De Champlain. The following photograph was taken in the 1970s by a woman who appears to have captured what may or may not be Champ itself. 4. The Jersey Devil The origin of this mythical beast is said to be the 13th child born from Mother Leeds, a woman who was supposedly a witch during the 1700s, and the Devil himself. There actually was a woman named Deborah Leeds who lived in the area that is now Atlantic County, New Jersey, and her husband had left a will that named 12 children. The Jersey Devil is said to look like a kangaroo with the head of a goat, a forked-tail, bat-like wings, and hooves that resemble the Devil’s. Historians believe this to be nothing more than a fabricated hoax, but who knows? 3. The Chupacabra The legendary mythical creature whose name literally translates to “goat-sucker” was first reported in Puerto Rico some 21 years ago in 1995. Eight goats were discovered with the same cause of death, 3 puncture wounds to the neck where they had all been drained of blood. Similar reports would follow all throughout the Americas in the coming years and there have even been sightings, such as the following image, where people claimed to have seen the monster, however, the creature is still nothing more than a myth. 2. The Loch Ness Monster Dubbed as “Nessie”, this famous cryptid is said to be living in the waters of Loch Ness that are located in the Scottish Highlands. The Loch Ness Monster is believed to actually be a plesiosaurs that has taken up residency in the area and there have been many local sightings, along with this famous picture, the surgeon’s photo, that was taken in 1934 but has since been proven as a hoax. Although, many people are still challenging that this is in fact real evidence of the creature. 1.Bigfoot This creature is said to roam the forests and mountainsides of the Pacific Northwest. Described as having some human qualities, this animal is also said to look like some type of human-ape hybrid. Bigfoot has been around for several decades and is perhaps one of the most famous cryptids ever, but many scientists are skeptical that all these sightings are nothing more than hoaxes and misidentifications of black bears and men in bigfoot costumes. -

Still, there remains a level of wonder and fascination that exists with what else is out there in the universe, not to mention a sheer curiosity over the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of wild creatures venturing outside of their habitat to wander into a decidedly unfamiliar environment. And after all, there are just enough instances of weird and surprising happenings in the world to keep people mindful of expecting the unexpected.
In these 10 cases, the unexpected came in a way that was all too real for those who had the misfortune of encountering it. After all, it wasn’t like they were asking for such an experience. Some of the families on this list had been long-time residents of their house when an unwelcome visitor suddenly opted to pop in for a visit one day. In other cases, new homeowners were treated to the eye-opening realization that they had a roommate that they certainly weren’t counting on. In any event, the shock was a jarring one, both due to the formidably creepy presence of the beast – or beasts – that these poor homeowners encountered and for the setting that they violated. These chance meetings raise the question of just what you do when an unwanted and frightening creature does invade your home. Unless you are particularly bold and daring, chances are you might not want to confront it, yourself. As Detroit resident Ann Duke learned when she had the misfortune of finding a predatory hawk in her home, 9-1-1 won’t want anything to do with the problem, Animal Control won’t deal with any animal that is unable to walk and pest removal companies will be quick to pass any non-critters off on just anyone else that they can. The german word translates to “double walker” usually what’s associated with them are unfortunate events. It’s said that doppelgangers are known to be harbingers of bad luck and that if someone were to ever meet their evil-twin like double that they would bring about the original person’s death.
9. The Unicorn
These fabled horses are believed to be the ultimate symbol of purity. The unicorn is described as a majestic looking creature, usually white, with its famous horn protruding from its forehead. This animal has also been a frequently recurring theme in many widely known pieces of literature and film, such as the Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter.
8. Lycans
More commonly referred to as “werewolves”, these creatures are said to be cursed humans that are slaves to the full moon and transform once a month. The “curse” is said to be passed from one person to another by the form of either a bite or scratch. Lycanthropy dates back to as early as the 15th century where individuals were persecuted as “wolf charmers”. These mythical creatures are believed to be nothing more than just myths as there is no recorded solid evidence to prove their existence.
7. Vampires
These creatures of the night can be traced all the way back to the 19th century and are somewhat involved in most cultures around the world but under different names. Vampires are amongst the most famous monsters that are believed to roam the Earth as people who have risen from the dead and are now, more or less, undead beings who search for the life force they need to feed on:blood. Many people have claimed to encounter one of these and others swear of their existence, though no tangible proof has been brought forward.

Mermaids have been the thing of many childhood dreams ever since The Little Mermaid was released and have been around even longer. There have been many reported sightings throughout history, though none proven, that have managed to add fuel to the fire that these aquatic creatures exist.

This is probably the Loch Ness Monster’s lesser known cousin, Champ, who is said to live in the waters of Lake Champlain, located in New York. The first reported sighting of this sea creature was way back in 1609 by Samuel De Champlain. The following photograph was taken in the 1970s by a woman who appears to have captured what may or may not be Champ itself.
4. The Jersey Devil
The origin of this mythical beast is said to be the 13th child born from Mother Leeds, a woman who was supposedly a witch during the 1700s, and the Devil himself. There actually was a woman named Deborah Leeds who lived in the area that is now Atlantic County, New Jersey, and her husband had left a will that named 12 children. The Jersey Devil is said to look like a kangaroo with the head of a goat, a forked-tail, bat-like wings, and hooves that resemble the Devil’s. Historians believe this to be nothing more than a fabricated hoax, but who knows?

The legendary mythical creature whose name literally translates to “goat-sucker” was first reported in Puerto Rico some 21 years ago in 1995. Eight goats were discovered with the same cause of death, 3 puncture wounds to the neck where they had all been drained of blood. Similar reports would follow all throughout the Americas in the coming years and there have even been sightings, such as the following image, where people claimed to have seen the monster, however, the creature is still nothing more than a myth.

Cantor's giant softshell turtle or Asian giant softshell turtle is a species of freshwater turtle. The turtle has a broad head and small eyes close to the tip of its snout. The carapace is smooth and olive-colored.

Pacu is a common name used in the aquarium trade to refer to several common species of omnivorous South American freshwater fish that are related to the piranha.
-The Blue Parrotfish
The blue parrotfish is a member of the parrotfish genus Scarus. It is found on coral reefs in shallow water in the tropical and subtropical parts of the western Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.

It’s not hard to understand why the proprietors of this museum were especially uncomfortable with reports of that creature on their grounds ...
