Parking fail - or slick move? Mandurah driver parks on a roundabout

We've all been there - nowhere to park when you have things to do and people to see.

To most of us the verge side is a tempting strip of free space to plonk our vehicles down on, but we resist the urge, knowing that it's a parking inspector's dream come true to catch anyone outside the lines.

Just ask Sally, a woman who led WAtoday through one of the most bizarre parking sagas ever.

That was a pretty complicated story - but someone in Mandurah has been caught serving up far simpler fare.

Finding there was no parking available on a chock-a-block Sholl Street, an enterprising driver mounted the curb, drove into the middle of a roundabout and yanked on the handbrake.

Job done.

Mandurah social media users posted photos to Facebook earlier on Friday of the silver Holden embedded in the roundabout between the Anglican Church and post office.

"Now available parking opposite the church, conveniently located next to the Post Office," Facebook user Jiah Minifie said.

Never thought we'd say this - but where's a parking inspector when you need one?
