The Romance of a Modern Airway

BY
HARRY HARPER
author of
"The Evolution of the Flying Machine"
"Twenty-Five Years of Flying"
"The Steel Construction of Aeroplanes," etc.

With an Introduction
by
Air Vice-Marshal
SIR SEFTON BRANCKER, O.B.E., A.F.C.
(Director if Civil Aviation)

LONDON
SAMPSON LOW, MARSTON & CO., LTD.

[No date inside, but I'm guessing late 1920s, early '30s?]

"Although it has been most convenient, in the preceding brief description, to take one of the well-known "Argosy" machines of Imperial Airways, it is probable that before these lines are being read the first of the new fleet of Handley Page super-giant air liners will have come on to the Continental and Indian services.  These new aeroplanes, which I have mentioned briefly before, will have luxuriously-equipped saloons as large as those of railway Pullman-cars.  These saloons will be divided into two compartments each seeting twenty passengers, while between the two will be a completely equipped cocktail-bar!  In spaciousness and luxury these new 2,000 horse-power air expresses will open up a new era in airway operation."
