Heartist - A chat with the legendary Tamil writer, director, stage, film and television actor Visu. Exclusive on Bosskey TV.
Visu fine tuned his directorial skills under his mentor the legendary K Balachander until becoming a full-fledged director. He ventured into acting under his own direction in the Tamil Film, Kudumbam Oru Kadambam meaning family is a mixture of sorts, which was a talk of that period for its crisp storyline, sensitive story, sensational dialogues and well timed jokes. He further went on to direct films like Samsaram Adhu Minsaaram based on a true story, which was remade in almost in all Indian languages. He also directed many other films,Thirumathi Oru Vegumathi, Manal Kayiru etc.
The programme "Visuvin Makkal Arangam" telecast by Jaya TV was essentially meant as a platform to serve a social cause. Arattai Arangam was a similar program that he hosted on Sun TV. Visu pioneered the use of the visual media to reach the common man.

The film opens into the life of Ammaiyappan Mudaliar, an ordinary middle-class man who makes a simple living as a Central Government clerk. His family, a typical South Indian joint family, includes his dutiful wife Godavari, his oldest son Chidambaram, a junior officer at Indian Oil, and his wife Uma, his second son Siva, a factory worker, his youngest son Bharathi and his daughter Sarojini. The modest income from his government job barely provides for his family's needs. His sons contribute some amounts in proportion to their incomes. The family gets by, but Ammaiyappan worries for the future. Siva and Sarojini are not yet married, and Bharathi has a bleak future if he does not graduate high school. Sarojini is a particular worry; her beauty and charm are matched by her arrogance and contempt. She summarily rejects any marriage proposal, and her obstinate demeanor causes great concern to Ammaiyappan. Visu (born July 1, 1945) is a Tamil writer, director, stage, film and television actor and talk show host from the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Visu fine tuned his directorial skills under the mentor-ship of legendary K. Balachander until becoming a full-fledged director. He ventured into acting in his self-directed Tamil Movie, Kudumbam Oru Kadambam meaning family is a mixture, which was a talk of the period for its crisp story line, sensitive story, sensational dialogues and timed jokes. Further on, he directed movies like Samsaram Adhu Minsaaram which was remade in almost in all Indian languages based on a short story, Thirumathi oru Vegumathi, Manal Kayiru etc.
A philanthropist, Visu had been supporting the needy through his own foundation. The Program at Jaya TV "Visuvin Makkal Arangam" had been serving for a genuine cause since its inception. The same type of program Arratai Arangam was hosted by him in Sun TV. Though he could serve through a registered foundation, he had been using the program as a tool/media to reach the common man.

Heartist - A chat with the legendary Tamil writer, director, stage, film and television actor Visu. Exclusive on Bosskey TV.
Visu fine tuned his directorial skills under his mentor the legendary K Balachander until becoming a full-fledged director. He ventured into acting under his own direction in the Tamil Film, Kudumbam Oru Kadambam meaning family is a mixture of sorts, which was a talk of that period for its crisp storyline, sensitive story, sensational dialogues and well timed jokes. He further went on to direct films like Samsaram Adhu Minsaaram based on a true story, which was remade in almost in all Indian languages. He also directed many other films,Thirumathi Oru Vegumathi, Manal Kayiru etc.
The programme "Visuvin Makkal Arangam" telecast by Jaya TV was essentially meant as a platform to serve a social cause. Arattai Arangam was a similar program that he hosted on Sun TV. Visu pioneered the use of the visual media to reach the common man.

The film opens into the life of Ammaiyappan Mudaliar, an ordinary middle-class man who makes a simple living as a Central Government clerk. His family, a typical South Indian joint family, includes his dutiful wife Godavari, his oldest son Chidambaram, a junior officer at Indian Oil, and his wife Uma, his second son Siva, a factory worker, his youngest son Bharathi and his daughter Sarojini. The modest income from his government job barely provides for his family's needs. His sons contribute some amounts in proportion to their incomes. The family gets by, but Ammaiyappan worries for the future. Siva and Sarojini are not yet married, and Bharathi has a bleak future if he does not graduate high school. Sarojini is a particular worry; her beauty and charm are matched by her arrogance and contempt. She summarily rejects any marriage proposal, and her obstinate demeanor causes great concern to Ammaiyappan. Finally, Manju and Vasudevan get married. Vasudevan's family was in fact acting, they are perfectly all right but they are scared of something. The truth is that Vasudevan was already married to Uma (Saranya Ponvannan). What transpires later forms the crux of the story.

She has acted in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu films. In of one of her

to have done all she did in her life and career.

by former Tamil Nadu chief minister CN Annadurai besides appearing in plays
with another chief minister M Karunanidhi.
Manorama also acted in Telugu films with NT Rama Rao, who went on to become
chief minister of the erstwhile undivided Andhra Pradesh.Born Gopishantha
to Kasi Kilakudaiyar and Ramamirtham at Mannargudi in Thanjavur district of
Tamil Nadu, she started her acting career on stage at age 12. She was
rechristened Manorama by drama director Thiruvengadam and harmonist
Thiyagarajan and migrated from dramas to the silver screen with the role
of a heroine in the 1958 Tamil film 'Maalayitta Mangai’.
Her performance in the 1968 Tamil movie 'Thillana Mohanambal' is considered
a milestone in her career. She held her own against stalwarts Sivaji Ganesan
and Padmini in the film.
Her on-screen pairing with comedian Nagesh, ‘Cho' Ramaswamy and later with
Thengai Srinivasan in the late 70s and 80s was very popular with the masses.
She was awarded the Padma Shri in 2002 and also won the National Film Award
for Best Supporting Actress for ‘Pudhiya Pathai' in 1989.

Visu fine tuned his directorial skills under the mentor-ship of legendary K Balachander until becoming a full-fledged director. He ventured into acting in his self-directed Tamil Film, Kudumbam Oru Kadambam meaning family is a mixture, which was a talk of the period for its crisp storyline, sensitive story, sensational dialogues and timed jokes. Further on, he directed films like Samsaram Adhu Minsaaram which was remade in almost in all Indian languages based on a short story, Thirumathi Oru Vegumathi, Manal Kayiru etc.
