A Gold Coast man has allegedly lashed out at police in a Gold Coast watchhouse, adding three counts of assault police to the public nuisance charge he'd been arrested on.
Three officers were injured when the 23-year-old man allegedly attacked them while being placed in a cell at the Southport Watchhouse about 4.20am.

A female constable had strains and bruising to her wrist, chest and elbow, a male senior constable injured his wrist and a male sergeant suffered a possible rib cartilage tear, police said.
The man was charged with three counts of assault or obstruct police, to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday.
