Our Village of Islands is situated between the saltwater wilderness of Everglades National Park in one direction and North America's only coral barrier reef and the deep blue waters of the Florida Straits in the other.
Islamorada is comprised of six islands including Plantation Key, Windley Key, Upper Matecumbe Key, Lower Matecumbe Key and the offshore islands of Indian Key and Lignumvitae Key.
This might be the only place on Earth where it is possible to catch a sailfish in the morning, and then venture into the backcountry in pursuit of bonefish, permit, tarpon, snook and redfish in just inches of water.

Islamorada es un hermoso cayo ubicado en La Florida de los Estados Unidos. Hacia la década de 1950 existió también allí un restaurante del mismo nombre, propiedad de unos inmigrantes cubanos, que ofrecía una deliciosa gastronomía traida de la entonces convulcionada isla.
De aquella familia viene Brian Piñero, un melómano y emprendedor nacido en La Florida, que llegó a Colombia atraido por el paisaje, el amor y la rumba. Su pasión por la música le cruzó el camino con el cantante Andrés Cepeda, con quien se asoció para explorar los campos culinarios y hacer resurgir el alma del antiguo Islamorada, en Sopó.
Se dedicaron a reestructurar las recetas que la familia Piñero ofrecía en Estados Unidos, mezclandolas con la cocina de La Florida y la gastronomía colombiana. Y así nació nuestro restaurante, cuya carta reúne desde empanaditas “guantanamero”, ceviche de camarones o Key Lime Pie, hasta ajiaco y sancocho al mejor estilo nacional. El chef David Espinoza es el encargado de hacer realidad cada fin de semana esta deliciosa oferta gastronómica.
Pero Islamorada va más allá del paladar. Los visitantes se encontrarán con un establecimiento único en su clase, ubicado en lo alto de las montañas de Sopó, a la sombra del monte Pionono y el cerro de Las Aguilas. Allí, la vista y la naturaleza se conjugan para ofrecer a los comensales una experiencia fascinante.
En medio del extenso prado se puede encontrar el primer muelle seco de Colombia, coronado por un pequeño bar. En este lugar, las personas disfrutan pidiendo bebidas mientras se toman fotos y observan las montañas al otro lado del valle. También se pueden encontrar cavernas artificiales decoradas con atractivos acuarios, y parques infantiles donde los niños pueden correr sin ningún impedimento.
Islamorada planea seguir expandiendose a futuro, para brindarles a ustedes una experiencia agradable e inolvidable.

Alligator Reef Lighthouse was established in 1873, automated in 1963 and still operational today. The structure is an iron-pile skeleton with a platform. The light is 136 feet above the water. It is a white octagonal pyramid skeleton framework on black pile foundation, enclosing a square dwelling and a stair-cylinder. The lantern is black. The original lens was a first order bivalve Fresnel lens.

Islamorada, Florida
Islamorada, a "Village of Islands," is an incorporated village in Monroe County, Florida, United States. It is located on the islands of Tea Table Key, Lower Matecumbe Key, Upper Matecumbe Key, Windley Key and Plantation Key in the Florida Keys.
History
The name Islamorada (Original meaning: "Island Home"), newly nicknamed, "The Purple Isle," came from early Spanish explorers in the area. It is pronounced "Is-Lah-Moh-Ra-Da."
Islamorada was hit almost directly by the Labor Day Hurricane of 1935, causing 423 deaths. A memorial, including the ashes of over 300 victims, exists today at Overseas Highway mile marker 82.
Hall of Fame baseball player Ted Williams began visiting Islamorada in 1943 and for the next 45 years was the island's most well-known resident. After his retirement from baseball he became the national spokesman for Sears sporting goods and became renowned for his abilities as a fisherman. Over the decades, he hosted numerous celebrities at his Islamorada house and took them on local fishing trips. Williams’ residency in Islamorada ended in 1988 when he moved to Hernando, Florida. Williams cited the island’s increased development as his reason for leaving. He reportedly said that he knew it was time to leave when he could no longer make a left turn on to U.S. Route 1 because of the traffic.

Alligator Reef Lighthouse was established in 1873, automated in 1963 and still operational today. The structure is an iron-pile skeleton with a platform. The light is 136 feet above the water. It is a white octagonal pyramid skeleton framework on black pile foundation, enclosing a square dwelling and a stair-cylinder. The lantern is black. The original lens was a first order bivalve Fresnel lens.

Islamorada es un hermoso cayo ubicado en La Florida de los Estados Unidos. Hacia la década de 1950 existió también allí un restaurante del mismo nombre, propiedad de unos inmigrantes cubanos, que ofrecía una deliciosa gastronomía traida de la entonces convulcionada isla.
De aquella familia viene Brian Piñero, un melómano y emprendedor nacido en La Florida, que llegó a Colombia atraido por el paisaje, el amor y la rumba. Su pasión por la música le cruzó el camino con el cantante Andrés Cepeda, con quien se asoció para explorar los campos culinarios y hacer resurgir el alma del antiguo Islamorada, en Sopó.
Se dedicaron a reestructurar las recetas que la familia Piñero ofrecía en Estados Unidos, mezclandolas con la cocina de La Florida y la gastronomía colombiana. Y así nació nuestro restaurante, cuya carta reúne desde empanaditas “guantanamero”, ceviche de camarones o Key Lime Pie, hasta ajiaco y sancocho al mejor estilo nacional. El chef David Espinoza es el encargado de hacer realidad cada fin de semana esta deliciosa oferta gastronómica.
Pero Islamorada va más allá del paladar. Los visitantes se encontrarán con un establecimiento único en su clase, ubicado en lo alto de las montañas de Sopó, a la sombra del monte Pionono y el cerro de Las Aguilas. Allí, la vista y la naturaleza se conjugan para ofrecer a los comensales una experiencia fascinante.
En medio del extenso prado se puede encontrar el primer muelle seco de Colombia, coronado por un pequeño bar. En este lugar, las personas disfrutan pidiendo bebidas mientras se toman fotos y observan las montañas al otro lado del valle. También se pueden encontrar cavernas artificiales decoradas con atractivos acuarios, y parques infantiles donde los niños pueden correr sin ningún impedimento.
Islamorada planea seguir expandiendose a futuro, para brindarles a ustedes una experiencia agradable e inolvidable.
