No Sweat may refer to:

No Sweat (band)

No Sweat were an Irish rock band, active during the late 1980s and early 1990s. They are best remembered for their single, "Heart and Soul" (produced by the Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott), which topped the Irish Singles Chart for two weeks in June 1989.

The group had two further Irish hits the following year with "Tear Down the Walls" (#4) and "On the Edge" (#11). 1990 also saw the release of their self-titled debut album, which was produced by Keith Olsen for Pogo Logo Corp., and was recorded at the Goodnight L.A. studio in Van Nuys, California, United States.

"Heart and Soul" and "Tear Down the Walls" were released as singles in the United Kingdom, with both enjoying minor success in the UK Singles Chart. The former spent four weeks in that chart, peaking at #64, whilst "Tear Down the Walls" peaked at #61.

Their guitarist, Dave Gooding, became the vocalist for blues-rock band b.l.o.w. with former members of Little Angels.

The keyboard player PJ Smith moved to Los Angeles where he pursued a songwriting and performing career with bands like: Toe, Clock.

No Sweat (Blood, Sweat & Tears album)

No Sweat is an album by the band Blood, Sweat & Tears, released in 1973.

By mid-1973, Steve Katz, one of the founding members of BS&T had left the band as the members leaned further towards jazz fusion. No Sweat continued in the jazz-fusion vein and featured intricate horn work.

No Sweat was re-released on CD in 2005 on the Wounded Bird label.

Reception

Writing for Allmusic, critic Ross Boissoneau wrote the album "may be the jazziest BS&T ever."

Sweat is a short story by the American writer Zora Neale Hurston, first published in 1926. The story revolves around a washerwoman and her unemployed, insecure husband.

Robert E. Hemenway, the Chancellor of University of Kansas and the author of a biography of Zora Neale Hurston, praised Sweat as "a remarkable work, her best fiction of the period".

Summary

Delia is a washerwoman who works long hours in a small Central Florida village. Her husband Sykes does not work, yet he resents that Delia cleans "white folks'" clothes in their home. Sykes scares his wife of fifteen years by using her fear of snakes. The marriage is an abusive one, ever since Sykes began beating Delia two months after marrying. Observers in the town remark how the once-beautiful Delia has lost her shine because of her abusive husband. With that said, Delia has come to the conclusion that she does not need Sykes nor his abuse, particularly considering it is her wages that paid for their home.

Tired of Delia and seeking out freedom with his "portly" mistress Bertha, Sykes hatches a plan to poison Delia by planting a rattlesnake in her washing clothes. In a bit of karmic fate, however, it is Sykes who is poisoned by the rattlesnake, fatally, in the neck. In response, Delia sits meditatively below a chinaberry tree waiting for her husband to expire, and ignoring his pleas for aid.

Sweat (TV series)

Sweat is an Australian drama television series created by John Rapsey and produced by Barron Entertainment in association with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in Perth. The show aired on Network Ten in 1996 for one season of 26 episodes and centred on students at an Australian school for the athletically gifted.

Scenes were shot in and around Perth including locations such as HBF Stadium, Arena Joondalup, the Town of Cambridge, the now defunct Perry Lakes Stadium and the Perth SpeedDome.

Lloyd (name)

Lloyd is a name originating with the Welsh adjective llwyd, most often understood as meaning "grey" but with other meanings as well. The name can be used both as a personal name and as a surname. The name has many variations and a few derivations, mainly as a result of the difficulty in representing the initial double-L for non-Welsh speakers and the translation of the Welsh diphthong ŵy.
