The Turnbull Government are turning their backs on 187,000 Australian workers.

Work for the Dole workers are:

-       Forced to work for $10.50/hour

-       Not entitled to superannuation

-       Not entitled to employment conditions

-       Excluded from Federal OHS & Workers’ Comp laws

-       Able to be exploited as free labour for private businesses

THE ACTU STANDS UP FOR THE RIGHTS & SAFETY OF ALL WORKERS – EVERY WORKER SHOULD BE TREATED EQUALLY.

On 19th April 2016 a young man was killed in a workplace accident.  He was only 18yrs old. His whole life was ahead of him. He was working for the dole.  He was one of the 187,000 invisible workers.

This accident has raised serious safety and workers’ compensation concerns.  Let’s compare the available death benefit for the family of a worker killed at work:

Work for the Dole Worker          $250,000

Employee/ Paid Worker             $500,000

The ACTU and local unions are working to assist the young man’s family.  If you would like to support his family through this devastating time go here: https://www.gofundme.com/23zexa3z

If you are part of the 187,000 Invisible workers WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.
