Emerald cup 2015 closeing Act, BEATS ANTIQUE
Highlighting some of the newest and best strains of organically grown marijuana in
North America,
The Emerald Cup (a.k.a.The E-Cup),
Northern California’s celebration of all things cannabis, fired up this past weekend in
Santa Rosa, California. With its largest attendance ever showing up on Sunday, the E-Cup packed its two-day celebration of organically grown marijuanaat the
Sonoma County Fairgrounds.
Despite this year’s $250 entrance fee, meant to cover the cost of testing the many samples for pesticides, fungicides and other harmful chemicals, the sweet two-day event drew more than 21,
000 visitors to the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, according to online reports.
Growing leaps and bounds from last year’s crowd of 13,000, and blasting past
2013’s attendance of 7,000, the seedling for the E Cup was initially planted in
Mendocino County over 12 years ago.
Originally held outside, this once mud covered and saturated event was relocated to the Sonoma County Fairgrounds after
2012 – helping the event to triple its overall attendance. Well-liked among the many growers that call the “
Emerald Triangle” home, the
Emerald cup originally started as a local competition between cultivators in Northern California’s
Mendocino,
Humboldt and
Trinity counties.

Cherry Limeaid” Smokes
Competition at The Emerald Cup
The event’s initial intention was straightforward and critical; to enlighten the cannabis community about the virtues of Sun grown, organically fed, marijuana. As such, the E-Cup is not only a contest that selects merely the best strains in their respective category, but rather a gathering of the
Tribes for Northern California’s many cultivators and 420 aficionados.
This year,
Jackson Zenter’s “Cherry Limeaid” left the competition in a cloud of smoke. Beating out the competition from NorCal, who threw 477 strains at the E Cup judges, the wining strain earned Jackson a round-trip ticket for two to the birthplace of
Bob Marley –
Jamaica.
According to the E-Cup organizer, he’s already confirmed next year’s date for the event the Sonoma County Fairgrounds.

From the biggest cannabis market in the
USA California emerald cup is at its 12th year , I just so happen to catch the final hours of this great event, stopping by about seven pm 12-13-2015
There was still a bit going on, caught some real nice music the final concert of
the event, got chance to speak with a few people about their product, saw and tried some real nice bud.
“With the imminent legalization of adult use cannabis in California in 2016, we’re heading into uncharted territory.
Everyone’s quite aware that the cannabis market in California is larger than
Colorado,
Washington,
Oregon, and several other states combined.
No doubt it will only get much more so in the coming years after legalization. California will also be the recognized world leader in the production of high-grade medicinal cannabis. It already is to many folks, but the rest of the world will soon know it too!
Sure, they’re still beating us up all over the state, but it’s their final parting shots that are being inflicted upon us. The writing’s on the wall and the time is over for the old school ways of failed law enforcement tactics.” -
