Iranian Army Ground Force on Wednesday unveiled its latest achievements including a new air defense system, an optimized version of Chieftain Tanks, and an NRBC vehicle named Shahram.
In a ceremony in Tehran attended by Army Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan, several military vehicles, devices, and weapons were unveiled and delivered to the force's units. An optimized Chieftain Tank, a test station for TOW missile launcher, vehicles for carrying ammunitions, and Bahman 57 self-propelled wheeled air defense system were among the systems and vehicles unveiled in the ceremony.
The 5-ton Kian tactical vehicle, Pourya super-heavy tank-carrier, Tiam optimized tank, an optimized version of dragunov sniper rifle, and an NRBC vehicle named Shahram were also unveiled and delivered to the Army Ground Force.

Iranian Army Ambushes IS Fighters Trying To Infiltrate Over The Border With HEAVY Fire. The Electronical Resistance released a video showing an Iranian Army ambush on IS fighters who tryied to cross over the border into iran. The armed incursion was interupted by Iranian troops greeting the ivaders with heavy fire as you can see from the tracer rounds. For about every tracer you see there are 3 to 5 bullets you cant see so there was an heavy amount of fire sent at the ISIS fighters. The Iranian Ambush video weas released today and there is no further information about the firefight available so all we got for now is this raw combat video.
UPDATE: According to fb.com/Iran.Military it seems that it is not 100% confirmable that the infiltration attempt was conducted by IS Fighters. There is a possibility for this but it also could have been PPK fighters on Iran's Western borders, Al-Q affiliated groups operating from Pakistan or drug traffickers FROM the Eastern side.

The Islamic Republic of Iran Army (IRIA) is the ground forces of the Military of Islamic Republic of Iran. In Iran, it is also called Artesh, (ارتش) which is Persian for "army." As of 2007, the regular Iranian Army was estimated to have 350,000 personnel (220,000 conscripts and 130,000 professionals) plus around 350,000 reservists for a total of 700,000 soldiers according to the CSIS.[1][2] Conscripts serve for 18 months and have professional military training.[3]

The Israel Defense Forces differs from most armed forces in the world in many ways. Differences include the mandatory conscription of women and its structure, which emphasizes close relations between the army, navy, and air force. Since its founding, the IDF has been specifically designed to match Israel's unique security situation. The IDF is one of Israeli society's most prominent institutions, influencing the country's economy, culture and political scene. Iranian armed forces have launched a major drill in the country's south.
The joint maneuvers by the Army's Ground, Naval and Air forces cover an area from the east of the Strait of Hormuz to the southern parts of the Gulf of Aden. The drill is the largest of its kind in the region. It deploys different types of military hardware and weapons both in waters and on the ground. Various units of ground forces have also been stationed along Iran's southeastern borders to assess commanding posts and engineering structures there.

The Iranian military honors the country's National Army Day by annual military parading in many cities of Iran every 18th day of April. The biggest march is held in front of the mausoleum of Ruhollah Khomeini.

Iranian armed forces stage massive exercise in southern Iran
Iranian armed forces have launched a major drill in the country's south. The joint maneuvers by the Army's Ground, Naval and Air forces cover an area from the east of the Strait of Hormuz to the southern parts of the Gulf of Aden. The drill is the largest of its kind in the region. It deploys different types of military hardware and weapons both in waters and on the ground. Various units of ground forces have also been stationed along Iran's southeastern borders to assess commanding posts and engineering structures there. The armed incursion was interupted by Iranian troops greeting the ivaders with heavy fire as you can see from the tracer rounds. For about every tracer you see there are 3 to 5 bullets you cant see so there was an heavy amount of fire sent at the ISIS fighters. The Iranian Ambush video weas released today and there is no further information about the firefight available so all we got for now is this raw combat video.
UPDATE: According to fb.com/Iran.Military it seems that it is not 100% confirmable that the infiltration attempt was conducted by IS Fighters. There is a possibility for this but it also could have been PPK fighters on Iran's Western borders, Al-Q affiliated groups operating from Pakistan or drug traffickers FROM the Eastern side.

Iranian armed forces have launched a major drill in the country's south.
The joint maneuvers by the Army's Ground, Naval and Air forces cover an area from the east of the Strait of Hormuz to the southern parts of the Gulf of Aden. The drill is the largest of its kind in the region. It deploys different types of military hardware and weapons both in waters and on the ground. Various units of ground forces have also been stationed along Iran's southeastern borders to assess commanding posts and engineering structures there.

Iranian Armed Forces have begun a major parade to mark the 33rd anniversary of eight years of defense against Iraqi invasion under executed dictator Saddam Hussein.
The opening ceremony of the 'Sacred Defense Week' started on Sunday at the mausoleum of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
The latest military and defensive achievements of the country's Armed Forces will be displayed during the parade.
Iran's President Hassan Rouhani is scheduled to deliver a speech during the ceremony.
Among the high-ranking Iranian military officials present at the ceremony are Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi, Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan, Commander of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari and Commander of Iran's Army Major General Ataollah Salehi.

31 March 1964 -- Exercise Delawar, a CENTO sponsored joint training exercise with the Imperial Iranian Air Force. The 481st TFS and the 429th Tactical Fighter Squadron deployed to Vahdati Air Base at Dezful Iran, with 36 aircraft and over 500 personnel.
The Imperial Iranian Air Force (IIAF) was a branch of the Imperial Iranian Armed Forces and was established by Reza Shah, the Shah of Iran, in 1920. It became operational with its first fully trained pilots on February 25, 1925.
Iran's first attempt to procure aircraft from the United States in the 1920s failed due to Washington's refusal to supply equipment because of a World War I treaty. Until World War II, the IIAF's aircraft inventory consisted entirely of European (mainly British and German) aircraft. However, following a co-ordinated British and Soviet invasion of Iran during World War II in retaliation for Reza Shah's declaration of neurality, the IIAF's bases were occupied by the allies and all existing IIAF aircraft were either destroyed or dismantled by the invading British.
After World War II, the IIAF began to slowly rebuild its inventory, with mainly American and British supplied aircraft.
In the 1960s, the IIAF acquired 90 Canadair Sabre fighters from the RCAF, but they were flipped over to the Pakistan Air Force.
Later, in the 1970s, the IIAF became the only military force other than the USN, to be equipped with the F-14 Tomcat. Although after the Iranian revolution, some of these planes were not in working order due to a lack of necessary spare parts, because of an American arms embargo and damage sustained on the aircraft during the Iraqi invasion (Iran--Iraq War). Some were brought back in to service, due to localised production of reverse-engineered, Iranian-made, spare parts as well as "cannibalism" (the process of taking parts from damaged aircraft and using them to repair others).
The IIAF had also placed an order for over 150 F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter aircraft in 1976, but deliveries were never made, due to the overthrow of the Shah by Ayatollah Khomeni in the revolution . These aircraft would go on to serve in the Israeli Air Force.
