Then it became Thomas Market, December Market, over the centuries. And since 1975 Christmas Market (Christkindlmarkt) at this site. And since 1985 this "Magic of Advent" , as we call it, which includes the park, and the decorations and the stalls and the children's activities inside." 9. A major attraction for tourists and locals, they offer the likes of traditional ornaments, mulled wine and wooden toys. STORYLINE: Christmas, Viennese style. The centre of Vienna , near to the famous St Stephen's Cathedral, is lit up ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
