Everything you need to know about finding a Bathroom Accessory Supplier

Bathroom Accessories

Does your bathroom renovation checklist include your bathroom accessories? Bathroom accessories include all those "little things" you can overlook when you're designing your bathroom.

Tapware, mirrors, soap dishes, toothbrush holders, towel racks, hooks for robes, towel racks, toilet roll holders and soap and shampoo dispensers may be "little things," but they make a big difference to the appearance and functionality of your bathroom. Get them right and they will help turn a utilitarian bathroom into a luxurious spa you'll enjoy relaxing in.

What are your bathroom accessories options? Let's take a look at them one at a time.

Tapware

Tapware is one accessory we usually don't overlook when we're designing the bathroom. If it's been years since the last time you built or renovated your bathroom, you might not be aware of the new ranges of tapware that are available.

Tapware also includes showerheads. In the past, water-saving showerheads were less than satisfactory. Today, water-saving showerheads give you a luxurious shower and save water at the same time. For example, rain showerheads are wide showerheads that make you feel like you are showering in warm rainwater. They can be wall or ceiling mounted and some come with hand-held showerheads.

Tapware comes in every style and finish imaginable. You can find period-style bathware or minimalist tapware. Choose a style that matches your bathroom style or you can even mix styles for a more dramatic look.

Mirrors

Bathroom mirrors are more than a necessity. They are part of the bathroom's decor and well-placed mirrors can reflect light and make your bathroom appear more spacious. Traditionally, two types of bathroom mirrors have been available. You could choose a plain mirror or a shaving cabinet with a door.

Today, we have a greater array of bathroom mirrors to choose from. For example, you can now find mirrors with:

  • A magnification area built-in
  • Digital clocks
  • Bluetooth audio systems with touchpads
  • Built-in lighting

Mirrors come in all shapes and sizes and include freestanding mirrors and wall-mounted mirrors with extendable arms.

Also remember that mirrors are not just vanity mirrors. If you need to shed more light in a corner of the bathroom or if your bathroom is small, a mirror can reflect light and the reflected image will make your bathroom appear larger.

Soap Dishes and Toothbrush Holders

Soap dishes and toothbrush holders are two "little things" you don't want to overlook when you're designing your bathroom. What are your options? The least expensive soap dishes and toothbrush holders are freestanding or wall-mounted. Some of them can be stylish and practical.

Others can be built-in. Ceramic soap dishes, for example are frequently installed with your tiles. Another way to provide a shelf for soap dishes, toothbrush holders, shampoo and other small items is to take advantage of wall cavity shelving.

The important thing is to think about soap dishes and toothbrush holders while you're designing your bathroom. You don't want to wish you had allocated space for them after your bathroom has been built or renovated.

Towel Rails, Rings and Hooks

Towel rails, rings and hooks are indispensable in the bathroom. You need space on the wall for your towels and you can use rings and hooks for hanging towels, robes or clothes.

A surprising array of towel rails are available, from single towel rails to floor-to-ceiling towel rails.

For the ultimate in luxury, you can choose heated towel rails. Heated towel rails can be wall-mounted or freestanding and floor-to-ceiling models are available as well. While they are more expensive, you won't regret having fluffy, dry, warm towels on hand after you bathe.

Like towel rails, robe hooks come in a variety of styles, from traditional to contemporary, with finishes that include chrome, stainless steel, brass or contemporary colours. Choose hooks that match or complement your towel rails and the style of your bathroom.

Toilet Roll Holders

Toilet roll holders are usually discreetly located, but shouldn't be an afterthought. A toilet roll holder that clashes with the rest of your bathroom accessories will stand out rather than blend in with the rest of your decor.

Toilet roll holders come in a wide variety of materials and styles. They can be ceramic, plastic, metallic or even timber. They are most often wall-mounted, but can also be freestanding. A stylish freestanding toilet roll holder can be an exception to the general rule of hiding the toilet roll holder.

Soap and Shampoo Dispensers

Liquid soap and shampoo come in dispensers provided by the manufacturers. When you put them on display in your bathroom, they often clash with your bathroom decor and give the bathroom an untidy appearance. One way to make an improvement is to buy decorative freestanding dispensers, but a variety of wall-mounted dispensers are available as well.

Give your soap and shampoo dispensers some thought while you're designing your bathroom and you'll find the perfect solution.
