"The Bug" is a song written by Mark Knopfler and originally performed by Dire Straits on the final studio album by the band, On Every Street (1991). It was covered by Mary Chapin Carpenter in 1992 and also recorded on the albums Blues Ballads (1996) by The Alex Bollard Assembly and Keep Your Hands to Yourself (2002) by Mike Berry & The Outlaws.
The song is the fourth and final UK single from the album On Every Street by English rock band Dire Straits, and it also was to be Dire Straits' final single release in the UK. Other songs from the album were released as singles in selected countries ("You and Your Friend" in France and Germany or "Ticket to Heaven" in Netherlands).
The song was covered by Mary Chapin Carpenter on her 1992 album Come On Come On and was released as a single the next year, peaking at 16 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks. This version of the song is also included on the soundtrack of the 2006 computer animated film Everyone's Hero.
Kevin Martin is a London-based English musician, record producer and journalist, often known under his recording alias The Bug. He moved to London around 1990, and he has been active for over two decades, in the genres of dub, jazzcore, industrial hip hop, dancehall, and dubstep.
His projects include GOD, Techno Animal, Ice, Curse of the Golden Vampire, Pressure, and most recently, King Midas Sound. He has collaborated with such figures as Daddy Freddy, John Zorn,Justin Broadrick, Experimental Audio Research,El-P, Blixa Bargeld, Alec Empire, Dälek, Vast Aire, Warrior Queen, Anti-Pop Consortium, DJ Vadim, Cutty Ranks, Flow Dan, Mark Stewart and Keith Levene.
Martin first became interested in music as a teenager going to Handsome Dick's, a record store in Weymouth, England, UK. At the same time, he was introduced to Joy Division, the Sex Pistols, Captain Beefheart, the Birthday Party, and Throbbing Gristle. He has described his initial interest in music as stemming from his difficult family situation during his childhood, and said, "It seemed like everything that I hated about English conservative monoculture was being burned and turned upside down through music," and, "Post-punk music was tearing up rule books and asking questions of everything, particularly structure in terms of music, art, politics, you know, the law."
The Bug (1943–1963) was an Irish-bred Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. A specialist sprinter, he was trained first in Ireland and then in Britain during a racing career which lasted from 1945 until September 1947. After being beaten in his first three races he recorded ten consecutive victories including the Wokingham Stakes, July Cup, Nunthorpe Stakes, Diadem Stakes and Cork and Orrery Stakes. He was then injured and finished unplaced in his comeback race, ending with a record of ten wins from fourteen races. He was retired to stud where he had little success as a sire of winners.
The Bug was an unimpressive-looking, lightly built chestnut horse, with a white blaze and a white sock on his right hind leg. He was bred in County Limerick, Ireland, by either Mary Ellard or S. Donoghue. As a yearling The Bug was sent to the Ballsbridge sales where he was bought for 700 guineas by the Hon. Gerald "Ginger" Wellesley, a relative of the Duke of Wellington. The colt raced in the colours of Norman Wachman, a boot and shoe manufacturer, as well as a noted gambler, and was trained by Wellesley at Castleknock, County Dublin.
Little Einsteins is an American animated children's television series on Playhouse Disney (later Disney Junior). The educational preschool series was developed for television by Douglas Wood who created the concept and characters, and a subsequent team headed by Emmy Award-winning director Olexa Hewryk and JoJo's Circus co-creator Eric Weiner, and produced by Curious Pictures and The Baby Einstein Company. The first episode of the Little Einsteins TV series premiered in Japan on TV Tokyo on October 5, 2005 and in the United States on the Disney Channel on October 9, 2005. In Europe, the second season of the show premiered on the Disney Channel around Christmas time, and in Japan, it aired on October 8, 2007, on Playhouse Disney Japan.
Little Einsteins was designed to teach the target demographic art and music appreciation by integrating famous or culturally significant art works (usually, but not exclusively, paintings) and classical music (most typically from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods) into the scenery, plot and soundtrack of each episode. The show is also designed to encourage viewer interaction (such as patting their knees, gesturing or singing along to help the characters succeed on their "mission"); at the end of the mission, Leo says "Mission Completion!" and the Little Einsteins then do the Curtain Call. At the end of the Curtain Call, Leo says, "See you on the next mission!", then the curtains close and in season 2 a "That's Silly" segment is shown.

Pre-order Return to Solaris on 2xLP here: https://phantomlimblabel.bandcamp.com/album/return-to-solaris Acclaimed UK electronic musician Kevin Richard Martin (The Bug, King Midas Sound) releases a stunningly powerful rescore of Andrei Tarkovsky’s seminal 1972 movie Solaris on Phantom Limb. In May 2020, British musician Kevin Martin was invited by the Vooruit arts centre in Gent, Belgium to compose a new score for a film of his choice. Having been long inspired by pioneering Soviet filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky, Martin tells us that his 1972 masterpiece Solaris was the “natural choice”. The film is an unattested giant, not only of science fiction and Soviet film, but also in the annals cinematic history. And its original score, composed by regular Tarkovsky collaborator and early Soviet ele...

Where are you annoying little bugger?
Oh I'm gonna find you!
Get over here!
Aha! There you are! Hehe.
Shit.
You're on a roll, you're on a streak, another day, another week
You've set your goal on letting dreams beat-up reality
The word is out and on the streets, the world keeps coming after me
I lose my touch and feed my fears “Crazy meals upstairs they creep”
This bug in me is strange, it craves, it hates and irritates.
It does the job, you see it waits, mates, then manipulates
Cold friend of mine king-sized galore, chews at my head, gets to my soul!
Won't let me go, God let me be, once more with you I plead
Unleash me, set me free
Let things go for rides defying security.
Unleash me, let me be
To where I go my buzzing friend I can't foresee
Let go!
Another night, another fight, your head-locked squeezed between a vice
You know it's wrong but feels so right, let go and let me remind you
When on your own and on your knees, another night, another feat
You meant you'd go by letting love reach out and set you free
This bug in me is strange, it craves, it hates and irritates.
It does the job, you see it waits, mates, then manipulates
Cold friend of mine king-sized galore, chews at my head, gets to my soul!
Just let me go, God let me be, once more with you I plead
Well, well I'll be damned!
That's right it's me, the bug in you who just loves to chew the brains
Right out of your head.
I know how you are and know exactly what you do to make you crawl into that
Dark, deep, depressive mode and then crush you like a grape, just the way I
Like it.
Watch me, watch out.
Unleash me, set me free
Let things go for rides defying security.
Unleash me, let me be
To where I go my buzzing friend I can't foresee
Unleash me
Well here we go again. I'm on the groove and I'm chiseling my way.
Not a minute too soon, through your heart and soul, where there's a big
Black hole which happens to be the trademark of my love.
And if you dare try to fix it or decide to resolutely repaint it and
Embellish it's illicit content, I'll trap rally-up and make sure I mess it
All up for ya'.
Unleash me
Gotcha!
