Curtis Childs is the director of OffTheLeftEye at the Swedenborg Foundation. While obtaining his degree in communication studies from Oakland University, Curtis experienced an internal battle with depression that led him to question God and his lifelong interest in Swedenborgian theology. After a period of intense suffering, he recovered from his depression with the help of modern medicine, therapy, and a return to the spiritually uplifting messages he found in Swedenborg’s writings. Now, Curtis is applying his education and desire to help others find peace through Swedenborg’s insights by producing and hosting this weekly webcast.
Rev. Dr. Jonathan S. Rose is the series editor of the New Century Edition, an ongoing project that incorporates the latest scholarship to produce a modern, accessible translation of Emanuel Swedenborg’s theological works. Holder of a B.A. and a M.Div. in religion and a M.A. and a Ph.D. in Latin, he has worked for years in the study of Neo-Latin and in Swedenborgian research. He was both chaplain and a tenured professor of religion and sacred languages at Bryn Athyn College before taking on his current position with the Swedenborg Foundation.
Karin Childs is a scriptwriter and online moderator for offTheLeftEye. Her spiritual growth is largely informed by a lifelong Swedenborgian education. While raising five children with her husband, Jon, she applied her love of the Bible and Swedenborg's writings to volunteer work, creating Sunday school programs and church pageants. It was Swedenborg's works that Karin turned to for solace after the devastating death of their oldest daughter. For 17 years, she and Jon ran a small Swedenborgian publishing company to help others dealing with loss and grief, and wrote three novels herself. Now, Karin puts her compassion into action through the work of the Swedenborg Foundation.
Chelsea Odhner is a production manager and scriptwriter for offTheLeftEye. A lifelong Swedenborgian, Chelsea's interest in Swedenborg's spiritual work intensified in her early twenties when she realized she wanted to make conscious changes in her life and behaviors. When paired with her study of yoga practice and philosophy, Chelsea found Swedenborg’s worldview connected all the spokes of different faiths and philosophical perspectives that she values. Initially interested in pursuing a career in integrative medicine, her passion for poetry, writing, and music led her to focus on serving the spiritual side of health and well-being.

Peter Fenwick (born 25 May 1935) is a neuropsychiatrist and neurophysiologist who is known for his pioneering studies of end-of-life phenomena.
In this interview he talks about near-death-experiences (NDE), death-bed-visitors and how we can achieve a good death.
NDE research is at the cutting edge of consciousness research and offers a convincing model for the understanding of what happens when we die. Peter Fenwick describes the different transitional phases of the dying process and highlights the importance of letting go at the end of ones life.

24 & ready to die is the tragic case of Emily, a young Belgian woman granted the right to a doctor’s help to end her own life because of her persistent, severe depression.
Belgium and the Netherlands are the only countries which permit doctor-assisted dying for those experiencing unbearable mental suffering.
Several American states allow doctor-assisted dying for the terminally ill, including, from next year, California.
Majorities in 13 of the 15 countries polled by The Economist and IPSOS MORI in June support doctor-assisted dying.
The Economist has championed doctor-assisted dying in articles and editorials since the 1990s, including most recently a cover story in June this year. The Economist ran a video advert in London in September and Berlin asking: “Could you live a life like this?” to encourage people to start talking about the right to die.
Support for doctor-assisted dying is growing globally. Bills have recently been debated in Britain and Germany, and a ruling in Canada’s Supreme Court means that country will soon have legal doctor-assisted dying too. California’s governor signed an assisted-dying bill into law in October.
A recent poll by Ipsos-MORI for The Economist found majorities in support of doctor-assisted dying laws in 13 out of 15 countries surveyed—including the United States, Britain, Australia, Canada and Germany. But only in Belgium and the Netherlands were majorities in favour of allowing doctor-assisted dying in cases of unbearable suffering that is mental, rather than physical.
The Economist supports the introduction of legalised doctor-assisted dying around the world. Zanny Minton Beddoes, editor-in-chief of The Economist, says: “For The Economist, the case for allowing doctor-assisted dying relies on personal choice and individual autonomy. Our liberal values and respect for human dignity mean that for this paper, doctor-assisted dying is a cause worth championing.”

Life (Diamonds in the Dark)
"'Life (Diamonds in the Dark)" is a song by Swedish DJ and producer John Dahlbäck featuring Swedish recording artist Agnes. Dahlbäck originally released the instrumental version of the song called "Life" in February 2012, but later got Swedish singer Agnes to sing the vocals on the re-release. In an interview with American magazine "Billboard" Dahlbäck commented on the co-operation with Agnes; "“She’s one of the biggest pop stars in Sweden, so for me it was a big honor to have her on the track. This may not be what she’d do normally, but she’s very happy with the result.”
The song is released together with three remixes that will accompany the February 25 release. Dahlback selected remixes from Australian upstarts Feenixpawl, fellow Swedish DJs Lunde Bros., and Canadian electro-house artist Lazy Rich.

Life (Sly and the Family Stone album)
Life is the third studio album by funk/soul band Sly and the Family Stone, released in September 1968 on Epic/CBS Records.
Music
Unlike its predecessor, Dance to the Music, Life was not a commercial success, although it has received mostly positive reviews from music critics over the years. Many of its songs, including "M'Lady", "Fun", "Love City", as well as the title track, became popular staples in the Family Stone's live show. A middle ground between the fiery A Whole New Thing and the more commercial Dance to the Music, Life features very little use of studio effects, and is instead more driven by frontman Sly Stone's compositions. Topics for the album's songs include the dating scene ("Dynamite!", "Chicken", "M'Lady"), groupies ("Jane is a Groupee"), and "plastic" (or "fake") people (the Beatlesque "Plastic Jim"). Of particular note is that the Family Stone's main themes of unity and integration are explored here in several songs ("Fun", "Harmony", "Life", and "Love City"). The next Family Stone LP, Stand!, would focus almost exclusively on these topics.

I Need You is the third compilation album from American recording artist LeAnn Rimes. The album was first released on January 30, 2001, through Curb Records to help satisfy Rimes' recording contract obligations during litigation with the label and her management. Rimes publicly disowned the album just days after its release, causing it to be discontinued. The album was then officially released by Rimes on March 26, 2002, with four additional tracks and a new recording: "Light the Fire Within". In 2008, the album was released as a package with Rimes' debut album, Blue (1996).
I Need You received mixed reviews by music critics, who praised its pop appeal but criticized the selection of the songs, noting that none of them made a significant impact on the listeners. Rev. Dr. Jonathan S. Rose is the series editor of the New Century Edition, an ongoing project that incorporates the latest scholarship to produce a modern, accessible translation of Emanuel Swedenborg’s theological works. Holder of a B.A. and a M.Div. in religion and a M.A. and a Ph.D. in Latin, he has worked for years in the study of Neo-Latin and in Swedenborgian research. He was both chaplain and a tenured professor of religion and sacred languages at Bryn Athyn College before taking on his current position with the Swedenborg Foundation.
Karin Childs is a scriptwriter and online moderator for offTheLeftEye. Her spiritual growth is largely informed by a lifelong Swedenborgian education. While raising five children with her husband, Jon, she applied her love of the Bible and Swedenborg's writings to volunteer work, creating Sunday school programs and church pageants. It was Swedenborg's works that Karin turned to for solace after the devastating death of their oldest daughter. For 17 years, she and Jon ran a small Swedenborgian publishing company to help others dealing with loss and grief, and wrote three novels herself. Now, Karin puts her compassion into action through the work of the Swedenborg Foundation.
Chelsea Odhner is a production manager and scriptwriter for offTheLeftEye. A lifelong Swedenborgian, Chelsea's interest in Swedenborg's spiritual work intensified in her early twenties when she realized she wanted to make conscious changes in her life and behaviors. When paired with her study of yoga practice and philosophy, Chelsea found Swedenborg’s worldview connected all the spokes of different faiths and philosophical perspectives that she values. Initially interested in pursuing a career in integrative medicine, her passion for poetry, writing, and music led her to focus on serving the spiritual side of health and well-being.

Belgium and the Netherlands are the only countries which permit doctor-assisted dying for those experiencing unbearable mental suffering.
Several American states allow doctor-assisted dying for the terminally ill, including, from next year, California.
Majorities in 13 of the 15 countries polled by The Economist and IPSOS MORI in June support doctor-assisted dying.
The Economist has championed doctor-assisted dying in articles and editorials since the 1990s, including most recently a cover story in June this year. The Economist ran a video advert in London in September and Berlin asking: “Could you live a life like this?” to encourage people to start talking about the right to die.
Support for doctor-assisted dying is growing globally. Bills have recently been debated in Britain and Germany, and a ruling in Canada’s Supreme Court means that country will soon have legal doctor-assisted dying too. California’s governor signed an assisted-dying bill into law in October.
A recent poll by Ipsos-MORI for The Economist found majorities in support of doctor-assisted dying laws in 13 out of 15 countries surveyed—including the United States, Britain, Australia, Canada and Germany. Curtis Childs is the director of OffTheLeftEye at the Swedenborg Foundation. While obtaining his degree in communication studies from Oakland University, Curtis experienced an internal battle with depression that led him to question God and his lifelong interest in Swedenborgian theology. After a period of intense suffering, he recovered from his depression with the help of modern medicine, therapy, and a return to the spiritually uplifting messages he found in Swedenborg’s writings. Now, Curtis is applying his education and desire to help others find peace through Swedenborg’s insights by producing and hosting this weekly webcast.
Rev. Dr. Jonathan S. Rose is the series editor of the New Century Edition, an ongoing project that incorporates the latest scholarship to produce a modern, accessible translation of Emanuel Swedenborg’s theological works. Holder of a B.A. and a M.Div. in religion and a M.A. and a Ph.D. in Latin, he has worked for years in the study of Neo-Latin and in Swedenborgian research. He was both chaplain and a tenured professor of religion and sacred languages at Bryn Athyn College before taking on his current position with the Swedenborg Foundation.
Karin Childs is a scriptwriter and online moderator for offTheLeftEye. Her spiritual growth is largely informed by a lifelong Swedenborgian education. While raising five children with her husband, Jon, she applied her love of the Bible and Swedenborg's writings to volunteer work, creating Sunday school programs and church pageants. It was Swedenborg's works that Karin turned to for solace after the devastating death of their oldest daughter. For 17 years, she and Jon ran a small Swedenborgian publishing company to help others dealing with loss and grief, and wrote three novels herself. Now, Karin puts her compassion into action through the work of the Swedenborg Foundation.
Chelsea Odhner is a production manager and scriptwriter for offTheLeftEye. A lifelong Swedenborgian, Chelsea's interest in Swedenborg's spiritual work intensified in her early twenties when she realized she wanted to make conscious changes in her life and behaviors. When paired with her study of yoga practice and philosophy, Chelsea found Swedenborg’s worldview connected all the spokes of different faiths and philosophical perspectives that she values. Initially interested in pursuing a career in integrative medicine, her passion for poetry, writing, and music led her to focus on serving the spiritual side of health and well-being.

Peter Fenwick (born 25 May 1935) is a neuropsychiatrist and neurophysiologist who is known for his pioneering studies of end-of-life phenomena.
In this interview he talks about near-death-experiences (NDE), death-bed-visitors and how we can achieve a good death.
NDE research is at the cutting edge of consciousness research and offers a convincing model for the understanding of what happens when we die. Peter Fenwick describes the different transitional phases of the dying process and highlights the importance of letting go at the end of ones life.

24 & ready to die is the tragic case of Emily, a young Belgian woman granted the right to a doctor’s help to end her own life because of her persistent, severe depression.
Belgium and the Netherlands are the only countries which permit doctor-assisted dying for those experiencing unbearable mental suffering.
Several American states allow doctor-assisted dying for the terminally ill, including, from next year, California.
Majorities in 13 of the 15 countries polled by The Economist and IPSOS MORI in June support doctor-assisted dying.
The Economist has championed doctor-assisted dying in articles and editorials since the 1990s, including most recently a cover story in June this year. The Economist ran a video advert in London in September and Berlin asking: “Could you live a life like this?” to encourage people to start talking about the right to die.
Support for doctor-assisted dying is growing globally. Bills have recently been debated in Britain and Germany, and a ruling in Canada’s Supreme Court means that country will soon have legal doctor-assisted dying too. California’s governor signed an assisted-dying bill into law in October.
A recent poll by Ipsos-MORI for The Economist found majorities in support of doctor-assisted dying laws in 13 out of 15 countries surveyed—including the United States, Britain, Australia, Canada and Germany. But only in Belgium and the Netherlands were majorities in favour of allowing doctor-assisted dying in cases of unbearable suffering that is mental, rather than physical.
The Economist supports the introduction of legalised doctor-assisted dying around the world. Zanny Minton Beddoes, editor-in-chief of The Economist, says: “For The Economist, the case for allowing doctor-assisted dying relies on personal choice and individual autonomy. Our liberal values and respect for human dignity mean that for this paper, doctor-assisted dying is a cause worth championing.”

A die in the context of integrated circuits is a small block of semiconducting material, on which a given functional circuit is fabricated.
