The Picasso Museum, located in the Marais Quarter of Paris, houses hundreds of works from all periods of the master's life. The beautiful classical guitar music for most of the soundtrack is played by the incomparable Andres Segovia.
As most of the lighting conditions for videotaping the artwork itself was quite poor, consider this more an impression of the MUSEUM and just a sample of the extraordinarily wide range of Picasso's long career. A master of practically every medium he worked in, from painting to sculpture, from ceramics to collage, his influence can be felt in art everywhere today.

This landmark exhibition is the first to focus exclusively on works by Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881 - 1973) in the Museum's collection. It features three hundred works, including the Museum's complete holdings of paintings, drawings, sculptures, and ceramics by Picasso—never before seen in their entirety—as well as a selection of the artist's prints. The Museum's collection reflects the full breadth of the artist's multi-sided genius as it asserted itself over the course of his long and influential career.
Notable for its remarkable constellation of early figure paintings, which include the commanding At the Lapin Agile (1905) and the iconic portrait of Gertrude Stein (1906), the Museum's collection also stands apart for its exceptional cache of drawings, which remain relatively little known, despite their importance and number. The key subjects that variously sustained Picasso's interest—the pensive harlequins of his Blue and Rose periods, the faceted figures and tabletop still lifes of his cubist years, the monumental heads and classicizing bathers of the 1920s, the raging bulls and dreaming nudes of the 1930s, and the rakish cavaliers and musketeers of his final years—are amply represented by works ranging in date from a dashing self-portrait of 1900 (Self-Portrait "Yo") to the fanciful Standing Nude and Seated Musketeer painted nearly seventy years later.

The Musée Picasso is an art gallery located in the Hôtel Salé in rue de Thorigny, in the Marais district of Paris dedicated to the work of the artist Pablo Picasso (1881-1973).
The hôtel particulier that houses the collection was built between 1656 and 1659 for Pierre Aubert, seigneur de Fontenay, a tax farmer who became rich collecting the gabelle or salt tax (the name of the building means "salted"). The architect was Jean Boullier from Bourges, also known as Boullier de Bourges; sculpture was carried out by the brothers Gaspard and Balthazard Marsy and by Martin Desjardins. It is considered to be one of the finest historic houses in the Marais.
The mansion has changed hands several times by sale or inheritance. The occupants have included the Embassy of the Republic of Venice (1671), then François de Neufville, duc de Villeroi; it was expropriated by the State during the French Revolution; in 1815 it became a school, in which Balzac studied; it also housed the municipal École des Métiers d'Art. It was acquired by the City of Paris in 1964, and was granted historical monument status in 1968. The mansion was restored by Bernard Vitry and Bernard Fonquernie of the Monuments Historiques in 1974-1980.

Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso, known as Pablo Picasso (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈpaβlo piˈkaso], 25 October 1881 – 8 April 1973), was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, and stage designer who spent most of his adult life in France. One of the greatest and most influential artists of the 20th century, he is widely known for co-founding the Cubist movement, the invention of constructed sculpture, the co-invention of collage, and for the wide variety of styles that he helped develop and explore. Among his most famous works are the proto-Cubist Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907), and Guernica (1937), a portrayal of the German bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War.
Picasso, Henri Matisse and Marcel Duchamp are commonly regarded as the three artists who most defined the revolutionary developments in the plastic arts in the opening decades of the 20th century, responsible for significant developments in painting, sculpture, printmaking and ceramics.

The Museum's collection reflects the full breadth of the artist's multi-sided genius as it asserted itself over the course of his long and influential career.
Notable for its remarkable constellation of early figure paintings, which include the commanding At the Lapin Agile (1905) and the iconic portrait of Gertrude Stein (1906), the Museum's collection also stands apart for its exceptional cache of drawings, which remain relatively little known, despite their importance and number. Constructed as a fortress in the Middle Ages and rebuilt in the mid-16th century as a royal palace, it wasn't until 1793 that the Louvre became a museum. Today, it is the home of some of the world's most famous works of art, including the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo. The rest of the permanent collection includes Greek, Etruscan, Roman, Egyptian and oriental antiquities, as well as sculptures, objets d'art and prints and drawings. Entrance to the museum is through the largest of the three glass pyramids that dominate the courtyard. The huge global success of Dan Brown's novel The Da Vinci Code, which opens with the murder of the museum's curator in the Louvre Museum, has swelled visitor numbers.

Paris-based Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) owned most of this collection, one of the largest worldwide, housed in a stunning 17th-century mansion in the Marais. All phases of his art are represented, with preparatory sketches and paintings covering the Blue Period, Rose Period, cubism, classicism and surrealism, and sculptures ranging from a huge plaster head to a small cat. Memorable works include the Blue Period self-portrait Paolo as Harlequin, the surreal Nude in an Armchair and poignant paintings of Marie-Thérèse, his lover and muse. There is also a glimpse of the artist's personal taste in paintings, with his Matisse and Cézanne paintings displayed alongside his own.
Opening Times: Currently closed for renovation. Reopens in 2013. Opening times when it reopens: Wed-Mon 0930-1800 (Apr-Sep); Wed-Mon 0930-1730 (Oct-Mar).

For a beautiful recap of the world's impressionist art, you must visit the Musée d'Orsay. This magnificently restored railway station houses the French national collection of art from 1848 to 1914. Since opening in 1986, the museum has attracted pilgrims from far and wide to see Manet's Déjeuner sur l'Herbe (Luncheon on the Grass), five Monet canvases of Rouen Cathedral, ballet scenes by Dégas, and works by Cézanne, Van Gogh, Renoir and Toulouse-Lautrec. Even the museum restaurant is worth a look as it's preserved in its original state.

The Musée Rodin is probably the most romantic museum in the world. Auguste Rodin (1840-1917) lived and worked in this 18th-century mansion and today his sculptures populate the interior and landscaped gardens. Indoors, The Kiss portrays eternal passion frozen in white marble, while The Hand of God gives life to creamy white, half-formed figures. Works of Rodin's mistress and pupil, Camille Claudel, and paintings by Van Gogh, Monet, Renoir and Rodin himself are also on display.
Outside, you'll find the monumental bronze The Thinker, whose godly physique contrasts sharply with the decrepitude of the writhing figures of The Gates of Hell.

Grande Mosquée de Paris (Paris Grand Mosque)
Built between 1922 and 1926, this fascinating Hispano-Moorish mosque serves as an introduction to the Parisian Muslim community. Although the prayer room remains closed to the non-Muslim public, everyone can access the authentic hammam (Turkish bath) for a soak and a scrub down, provided you leave your sense of modesty at the door. Luckily, the sexes are segregated. There's also a wonderful mosaic courtyard complete with fig trees and a fountain - the perfect setting for enjoying a sweet mint tea served in tiny gilded glasses with some honeyed baklava.

Las 233 obras que reúne la Colección MPM abarcan las innovaciones revolucionarias de Picasso, así como la amplia variedad de estilos materiales y técnicas que dominó. Desde los primeros estudios académicos a su visión personal del clasicismo; desde los planos superpuestos del cubismo a su investigación con la cerámica; desde su interpretación de los grandes maestros a las últimas pinturas de los setenta. La creación del Museo se debe a la voluntad compartida de Christine y Bernard Ruiz-Picasso, cuyas donaciones constituyen el núcleo de los fondos del Museo, y de la Junta de Andalucía, que ha articulado un gran proyecto museístico consagrado al artista cuyos estilos y técnicas cambiaron el curso del arte moderno.
El Palacio de Buenavista es la sede del Museo Picasso Málaga. Situado en pleno centro histórico de la ciudad, mezcla con armonía las formas renacentistas y mudéjares con la pureza de las líneas contemporáneas. En el subsuelo de este magnífico ejemplo de la arquitectura andaluza del siglo XVI, el visitante encontrará un yacimiento arqueológico que contiene restos fenicios, romanos y árabes, testigos de la historia de la ciudad.
Exposiciones temporales, actividades educativas y culturales, la biblioteca y la librería especializada completan la propuesta del Museo Picasso Málaga.

Museo Picasso Málaga is devoted to the most influential artist of the twentieth century. Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) was born in Malaga, a city with a rich cultural heritage. Picasso carried on this legacy and became an innovator of styles and techniques that changed the course of modern art.
The museum was created thanks to Christine and Bernard Ruiz-Picasso, the artist’s daughter-in-law and grandson, whose donations constitute the core of the collection. It was also made possible thanks to the efforts of the Junta de Andalucía, which coordinated the major project of setting up a museum devoted to the artist whose styles and techniques changed the course of modern art.
The Buenavista Palace houses Museo Picasso Malaga. Located in the historic center of the city, the building blends harmoniously the Renaissance and Moorish forms with the purity of contemporary lines. In the basement, visitors will find an archaeological site containing Phoenician, Roman, Moorish and Renaissance date.
Temporary exhibitions, educational and cultural activities, a library and bookstore complete the proposal by Museo Picasso Malaga.
