Morandi is a Romanian Europop music group composed of Marius Moga and Andrei Ştefan Ropcea (Randi). The group's name derives from the first two letters of Moga's name and Ropcea's nickname, Randi, creating Morandi.

Musical career

Aside from being successful in Romania, the group ranked highly on several pan-European charts (including the MTV Europe chart and the World Chart Express) and became probably the most successful band in the history of Eastern Europe after O-Zone. Their music is very popular among young people in Russia, Bulgaria, Albania, Greece, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Republic of Macedonia, Lithuania and Ukraine. Morandi were nominated as Best Romanian Act both at the 2005 MTV Europe Music Awards and 2006 MTV Europe Music Awards and won the award at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards. "Angels" was called "Most successful track 2008" in Russia.

Colors (soundtrack)

Colors is the soundtrack of the 1988 film Colors. It was released on April 26, 1988, by Warner Bros. Records and mostly consisted of hip hop music. The soundtrack found success, peaking at 31 on the Billboard 200 and was certified gold on July 12, 1988, but it is best remembered for its title track performed by Ice-T. The single wasn't a huge success on the charts, only making it to 70 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Colours (Donovan song)

"Colours" is a song written and recorded by British singer-songwriter Donovan. The "Colours" single was released in the United Kingdom on May 28, 1965 through Pye Records (Pye 7N 15866) and a few months later in the United States through Hickory Records (Hickory 45-1324). The "Colours" single was backed with "To Sing for You" (previously included on What's Bin Did and What's Bin Hid) on the United Kingdom release and "Josie" (from What's Bin Did and What's Bin Hid) on the United States release.

Release and reception

Donovan followed up the success of "Catch the Wind" with "Colours", which featured a similar folk style. The single matched the success of "Catch the Wind" in the United Kingdom, reaching No.4 on the charts. In the United States, "Colours" reached No.61 and marked a decline in the artist's popularity relative to "Catch the Wind". A different mix of the song (without harmonica) was released on his second album Fairytale.

When Epic Records was compiling Donovan's Greatest Hits, they were either unable or unwilling to secure the rights to the original recordings of "Catch the Wind" and "Colours". Donovan re-recorded both songs with a full backing band, and the re-recordings were included on the greatest hits album.

Everyday (OMD song)

"Everyday" was the third and last single from Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark's 1993 album Liberator. Co-founder Paul Humphreys, who had left the band four years prior, is credited as a co-writer.

"Everyday" was the only single from Liberator to miss the UK Top 25, charting at #59. Its accompanying music video features Sara Cox, who would later be known as a BBC Radio DJ.

Everyday (Widespread Panic album)

Everyday is the third studio album by the Athens, GA based band Widespread Panic. It was first released by Capricorn Records and Warner Bros. Records on March 3, 1993. It would later be re-released in 2001 by Zomba Music Group. On July 3, 2014 the band announced that Everyday would be reissued on Vinyl in August, 2014. The reissue will be distributed via ThinkIndie distribution and sold only at participating independent record stores.

Beginning on November 5, 1992, The band recorded the album at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Sheffield, AL. They were in the studio for roughly 5 weeks.

The album reached a peak position of #184 on the Billboard 200 chart and #10 on the Heatseekers chart.

The album was the group's first to feature bandmate, John Hermann.

Everyday (video)

Noah Takes a Picture of Himself Everyday for 6 Years (as titled on YouTube), or Everyday (as shown on the title card), is a viral video produced by New York photographer Noah Kalina. It features a fast montage of thousands of pictures of Kalina spanning a period of six years all played sequentially.

Video

Kalina began taking a photo of himself every day starting on January 11, 2000, at age 19. The video Everyday shows the photos chronologically, six per second, with an original piano score by his ex-girlfriend Carly Comando. Throughout the compilation, Kalina's face remains emotionless in the center of the frame. Kalina uploaded the video to Vimeo on August 8, 2006, and YouTube on August 27, 2006. Everyday was featured on an episode of VH1's Web Junk 20 and on commercials for Time Warner Cable's Roadrunner service. In a New York Times article, William A. Ewing, director of the Musée de l'Élysée, was quoted as saying, "Noah’s video represents a phenomenal amplification not just in what he produced and how he did it, but how many people the piece touched in such a short period of time. There is nothing comparable in the history of photography."As of November 28, 2013, Everyday has over 26 million views on YouTube.
