We’ve all heard older generations joking that back in their day, they had to walk ten miles, in ten feet of snow, uphill both ways to get to school. Nowadays, many students can take the bus, bike or walk a couple of miles or are driven by parents or guardians. That’s not always the case for children in more remote areas; getting to school is a journey on its own.
Whether it’s treacherous routes due to distance or environmental issues such as flooding roads, accessing an education is hard work. So while we may take our easy routes for granted, these brave kids certainly don’t.

Thrill seekers are a special breed of people. They are constantly looking for things to do – both legal and illegal – to push the limits and get the adrenaline flowing. From the rollercoaster enthusiast to traveller who loves visiting locations most people are warned to stay clear of, some people love doing things that would make the rest of us more than a little uncomfortable. Then there are the extreme thrill seekers. We might think these people are borderline crazy because every challenge and activity they undertake comes with an extreme element of danger. These following examples show that danger doesn’t dissuade them from coming back, time and time again, to go higher, farther and faster with the next challenge.

Can't believe how far those people were getting pulled out into the ocean! The waves were ridiculously strong today. It was a close call.
But adventures, memories, saved lives, and new friends were made today! So another epic day in Hawaii complete. Definitely the most action packed, exciting day so far! Tomorrow will be another first for both Lauren and I! ZIPLINING for over 2 miles & possibly more cliff diving but this time into some Waterfalls! Make sure to come back tomorrow and until then do me a favor,

Gerald McClellan
Gerald McClellan (born October 23, 1967) is an American former professional boxer who held the WBC and WBO middleweight titles. Known for his punching power, The Ring magazine rated McClellan #27 on their list of "100 Greatest Punchers".
McClellan was forced to retire from boxing after a severe brain injury suffered during his final fight in 1995, a loss to WBC super middleweight champion Nigel Benn.
Professional career
Middleweight
McClellan turned professional in 1988. Trained by hall of fame trainer Emanuel Steward, he captured the vacant WBO middleweight title by knocking out John Mugabi in one round in 1991, and the WBC middleweight title by knocking out Julian Jackson in five rounds in May 1993. He defended the WBC title three times, all first round stoppages, including a rematch with Jackson.
Benn vs McClellan
McClellan moved up in weight to challenge WBC super middleweight champion Nigel Benn in London on February 25, 1995. The fight was watched by an estimated 17 million people on television and 10,300 paying spectators.

But adventures, memories, saved lives, and new friends were made today! So another epic day in Hawaii complete. Definitely the most action packed, exciting day so far! Tomorrow will be another first for both Lauren and I! ZIPLINING for over 2 miles & possibly more cliff diving but this time into some Waterfalls! 11/09/61 Three small children lost their lives today in a house fire due to a woodburning stove
((ROLL FILM)) A house fire in a remote section of Henry County claimed the lives of three small children yesterday..... ((TAKE FILM)) They were alone in the home while their mother was drawing water from a spring some distance away. The three, children of Mr. & Mrs. James Curtis Rumley, were James Leon, age 4; 2-year-old Debra Ann and Brenda Lee, 14 months. Firemen were summoned to the scene at the Oak Level Community by two cousins of the victims. They had to race two miles to reach a telephone. Firemen say they believe the fire started at about 4 p.m. by sparks from a kitchen wood stove. The father returned from work at a sawmill about 15 minutes after the fire began, but the flames drove him back when he tried to rescue his children.....

Many of Philippines' 5.5 million child workers are risking their lives digging for "Dirty Gold" in unbelievable conditions. Desperate men and children scour underwater mine-shafts in this terrifying report.
Breathing through nothing more than a thin pipe connected to an air compressor, going 30 foot deep underwater for hours in search of gold is all in a day’s work for 16-year-old Gerald. "I'm afraid, if the earth collapses, I will get buried underneath" says the teenager. Surrounded by rock walls in the pitch black darkness of the water, the men chip away at walls for 3 hours. They find no gold. For many like Gerald school is a distant memory, and illegally diving for gold the only alternative to starvation. Hundreds of deaths by electrocution, drowning and even the possibility of Mercury poisoning have had little impact on compressor mining activities, which continue un-policed and unregulated. There appears little hope of change on the horizon. "If I could only give job opportunities - I will take them away from compressor mining. It is just that I have no alternative at this point" says Ricarte Padilla, Mayor of Jose Panganiban - Philippines' so-called "Gold Coast". As it is, the children and family men unearthing 60-80kg of gold per month see the lions share of wealth disappear into the Chinese black market.

Many of Philippines' 5.5 million child workers are risking their lives digging for "Dirty Gold" in unbelievable conditions. Desperate men and children scour underwater mine-shafts in this terrifying report.
Breathing through nothing more than a thin pipe connected to an air compressor, going 30 foot deep underwater for hours in search of gold is all in a day’s work for 16-year-old Gerald. "I'm afraid, if the earth collapses, I will get buried underneath" says the teenager. Surrounded by rock walls in the pitch black darkness of the water, the men chip away at walls for 3 hours. They find no gold. For many like Gerald school is a distant memory, and illegally diving for gold the only alternative to starvation. Hundreds of deaths by electrocution, drowning and even the possibility of Mercury poisoning have had little impact on compressor mining activities, which continue un-policed and unregulated. There appears little hope of change on the horizon. "If I could only give job opportunities - I will take them away from compressor mining. It is just that I have no alternative at this point" says Ricarte Padilla, Mayor of Jose Panganiban - Philippines' so-called "Gold Coast". As it is, the children and family men unearthing 60-80kg of gold per month see the lions share of wealth disappear into the Chinese black market.

The world's oldest-ever panda in captivity was euthanized Sunday at the Hong Kong theme park where she lived because her health had deteriorated ... Guinness World Records recognized Jia Jia as the oldest giant panda to live in captivity ... Born in the wild, Jia Jia was taken to live at a wildlife reserve's breeding center in central China's Sichuan province in 1980, when she was around 2 years old....

Something needs to be done because the people who live there now deserve better. I can’t even imagine the desperation of 14,000 people who are on the list to live at Mayor Wright, but that tells you how much more housing needs to be built there, where it’s so convenient to Downtown — even if in towers, which surely don’t have to be the mainland-style infamous, horrible housing projects that we hear of ... ....
