Now if we knew we had a uber cool alternative strictly members only bar right on our doorstep that was playing host to some of the best names in dubstep, drum and bass, rock and indie, we would have been members a long time ago. Looks like Croydon may be our new local hotspot. We have yet to visit this Black Sheep Bar, but we intend on heading on down this week to check out the venue and the sets. [Review Pending] 

Every few months the bar hosts the club night ‘Croydub’. By the looks of the last line up (Coki, Artwork, Plastician, P Money, Hatcha, and many more) and tonights line up – the one and only Skream (which we are very disappointed to be missing) Croydub@ Black Black Sheep Bar is the place to be.

If you are in or around Croydon tonight head on down 8-4am – Skream, Tunnidge, Chefal, Kutz, Hijak, Walsh, Dismantle, Skandal, Surge and Mic Man Sgt Pokes…There are still wrist bands going at the bar.

On Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri Sat playing Dance, Drum & Bass, Eclectic, Hip-Hop, Indie, Metal, Rock, Techno / Trance.  68 High St, Croydon, CR0 1NA.

If your not already a listener of Rinse FM, it’s time to get involved.  Tune off from the hours of bore you get from other stations and listen to some real music, including the best in grime, dubstep, UK garage, funky, and drum and bass.

Founded in 1994 and operating as London’s biggest pirate radio station, it was finally given a community FM broadcast license in June 2010. An amazing station which provided first exposure to some massive names including Dizzee Rascal and Wiley and later provided a home for dubstep DJs like Skream, Kode9, and Plastician.

David Rodigan Live in the Boiler Room [Elephant and Castle-London]

Tucked away in deepest darkest south London sits a club called Corsica Studios hidden amongst the back streets of Elephant and Castle. The club plays host to some of the biggest sounds and names in the world of electronic music. One night in particular is Boiler Room, run by a small outfit it has become one of the most exciting nights across the capital to check out underground dance music. The main idea being to broadcast the sets live throughout the world, giving everyone the opportunity to tune in and experience the freshest sounds this side of the world.

I headed down on Tuesday 30th where it was an RBMA takeover with David Rodigan, Saxon Sound International, AMP and Fatman, featuring dub plate after dub plate that was hyped as an oldskool sound clash of the finest dubs the dj’s could get there hands on, and they didn’t disappoint. The packed Corsica Studios was brimming with excitement and anticipation for the tunes that were heard throughout the sets, featuring the likes of “ini kamoze – out in the streets they call it murtha” that had the crowd singing and bouncing with one hand in the air.
